WELCOME TO ANIMATION SHOWDOWN!

Think Super Smash Bros., but instead of gaming icons, we're throwing down with the craziest, most iconic, and frankly, the most unpredictable characters from the wild world of indie animation! (And Weegee. He's here too.)

Ever wondered what would happen if Pomni pits herself against Flippy? Or if Skid and Pump team up with Weegee against Aika and The Second Coming? If you have these weird fantasies (Trust me, I do too), then this is the game for you!

This blog will be your one-stop shop for all things Animation Showdown. Expect:

Roster Updates: Stay informed as more fighters get added. That's right. This is NOT the final roster!

Behind the Scenes: Development is not kicking up steam as of now. (Life, am I right???) When development ACTUALLY begins, screenshots will be posted!

Writing Stuff: What if I told you that this game also has LORE? INTERACTIONS? WITH A POSSIBLE STORY MODE IN THE WAY?!

Character Stuff: Movesets, Color Alts, you name it.

Q&A:

"What kind of sprites will be used?"

For stuff like these Concept Edits, pre-made .PNGs of characters featured will be used. Eventually, I will use drawings. For the full game, expect Pixel Art on Gameplay, and 2D Illustrations for UI stuff.

"When's it coming out?"

I don't have a set release date. I'm juggling with two main games right now. I don't really feel like adding one more at the moment. I would COLLAPSE. So if the time is right, it will come out somewhere in 2026 - 2027.

It’s currently in the "concept and brainstorm" phase. No gameplay. No engine builds. Nothing. Life's busy, y’know?

"When the game comes out, who's gonna be your main?"

It's probably going to be Mera + Aika for casual game sessions, or Lorelai + The Chosen One if I'm feeling competitive. Trust me, I have their movesets in my head (or, fragments of their moveset) and they're fun to play as.

Eventually, this blog will hopefully grow into a full dev space but for now, think of it as a playground for the game's design, cast lists, and community engagement.
