“Is my outfit not festive enough?” (valerie)
“It looks fine to me.” Anita paused her sewing to look at her coworker’s outfit. “I mean, I suppose it could use some more Christmas-y colors but it’s not necessary.” She turned back to her project, resuming her sewing. “Why are you asking? You’ve never struck me as the festive type.” @valcriegray

“Is what I’m wearing okay?” (layla)
“Hm...” Anita took a moment to look over her outfit before nodding approvingly. “It’s great. It’s really a gorgeous dress.” She complimented her, a smile on her face. “What’s the occasion?” She questioned, going to take a seat at the small table in her kitchen. “Work party?” @ladylaylas

Anita was focusing on perfecting the bow on the gift for Perdita, running the scissor blade along the ribbon to curl it. “Maybe a little bit.” She answered his question, a small laugh leaving her lips. “But who cares? It’s fun.” She pushed the present away, grabbing the rope toy she had bought for Pongo. “I guess it is more of a cat thing but I mean, these are dogs, I’m sure they’ll play with anything.” She began to wrap some paper around the toy, reaching to grab some tape. “We’ll just have to make sure they don’t eat it.”

“That sounds adorable.” Anita leaned forward on the table, listening intently to Daisy’s pitch. “I don’t think so.” She paused to think about it, trying to think if she had ever heard of anything like that before. “I mean, if there was, I would definitely know about it. It’d be my regular hangout with Perdy.” She laughed, going to take a sip of her coffee. “Hm, I don’t know if I’m as fond of that one as the puppy café.” She admitted, an apologetic look on her face as if she had anything to be sorry for. “That doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea though, it does sound cute.”
“Alright, so, hear me out….” Daisy paused, taking a sip of her latte before continuing to speak. “What if there was like…..a shop that people could have coffee but like….so can their dogs? Like little dog lattes and biscotti. It would be so cute. Do those exist already? I can’t remember….” she really hoped not. She was having a bit of a dry spell with passion projects. “Alternatively. A miniature cafe that only sells tiny food. Like from real ovens…..And they are tiny and perfect. You know what, I think I like the mini cafe better. I could call it….something……” She paused again. “What do you think?”

Anita always enjoyed the little things like this that the island hosted, she had so many fond memories of them. So of course when Joy asked her to go on the sleigh ride with her, she said yes. She had already been planning on going with Roger at some point but there was no rule saying she couldn’t go on it more than once. “That sounds so fun!” She laughed at her anecdote, peering around the line to see how much longer they had to do. “Oh, of course! I always love doing these things with different people.” She slipped her hands into her pockets, trying to shield them from the cold. “Oh, yes. It’s really lovely, isn’t it? I went with Roger when we first started dating. It’s always been my favorite part, I think.”

With a little basket in hand full of some of the best wintery treats the festival had to offer, Joy was practically bouncing as she and Anita waited in line for the sleigh ride. “I’m so excited. I love the sleigh rides every year, last year our driving was singing some carols as we went through Arendelle. It was a dream come true.” Her cheeks were starting to hurt from how much she was grinning. “Thanks for coming with me,” she said, genuinely happy to be sharing this experience with Anita. “Have you gone on the sleigh before?”

dounerdebby:
Debby’s attention to her own artwork had been broken by the sound of Anita’s voice. Glancing in the direction of her friend and her canvas, she smiled at the mention of too much wine, her own glass in her free hand. “Well… it’s not looking like I’d hoped,” Debby admitted truthfully, looking at her own canvas again with her head tilted slightly. “It almost looks like one of my third graders created this.”
Anita giggled, after taking a longer look at her friend’s canvas, she could definitely see it. “Key word, almost. I think you’re insulting your third graders a little bit there.” She teased, leaning over to nudge her. She sighed, taking a final sip from her glass of wine before setting it down. “I don’t know why I thought this was a good idea.” She glanced at the example canvas at the front of the room as she picked her brush back up to try and replicate it. “I’ve never been good at this.”

Chuckling as Perdita eagerly stood to greet him, Mason didn’t hesitate to give her a few good scratches behind her ears. “Spades can’t be trusted at an event like this,” he jokes, knowing his own dog to be just as excitable and over the top around crowds as Pongo. Mason had tried to bring him to one of the festivals a few years ago, when he’d first gotten the pup, and it hadn’t gone over well. So now he sticks to only bringing him out to the events that were a bit tamer than this… Or the ones close to the parks or forest. Standing up from his crouched position, he offered a smile to Anita as he stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets. “Well I was going to see if you wanted to walk around with me for a bit, but I’d hate to intrude on girl’s day out.”
"I see.” Having met Spades herself, the decision made sense. He reminded her of Pongo in a lot of ways, she was sure the two would get along great if they ever got around to actually scheduling a play date for all three dogs. “Oh, no! I can walk around with you.” She quickly shook her head, rising to her feet with her drink. “I mean, girl’s day out has been fun but I’m getting a little tired of the one sided conversations. It’ll be nice to actually talk to another human.” She laughed, bending over to untie Perdita’s leash from the table.

“Mine doesn’t look right.” Anita set her brush down for a moment, peeking around her canvas to look at the instructor’s. She had never really been much of a painter but she was hoping that she’d at least do better with someone giving instructions. “Maybe I’ve had a little too much wine.” She giggled, taking another sip from her glass. “How is yours looking?” @dounerdebby

Anita sat by herself, nursing a cup of hot coffee in her hands as she admired the decorations. She loved Arendelle this time of year, it was already one of the most beautiful parts of the island (in her opinion) and the lights only made it better. Perhaps she was a little biased though, she’s always preferred Christmas over any other holiday. She perked up at the sight of Mason coming towards her, lifting up a hand to wave at him. “Oh, you should’ve.” She laughed, watching as Perdita stood up excitedly, her tail wagging a mile a minute. “I think she’s been feeling a little lonely. I was going to bring Pongo too but.. he’s a little excitable. Plus,” She paused, leaning over to pet her back. “A girl’s day out sounded kind of nice.”
With Flora off doing something else for the time being and Gen still nowhere in sight quite yet, Mason was left to wander around the festival grounds on his own. He didn’t really have any destination or plan in mind, just walking and taking in all of the decorated businesses and activities set up for the day. He also hadn’t expected to run into anyone else he knew while strolling around, but up ahead he spotted a familiar face sitting at one of the little tables scattered around. Without any hesitation a smile grew on his face as he made his way over towards Anita and her ever present pup. “If I’d known you’d be bringing Perdita I would have thought to have Spades tag along too,” he jokes as he bends down to properly greet the dog first and foremost. @anitcradcliffe

I’m tired of working for someone who I know I’m smarter than. You were right. I’m ambitious and you saw it the moment you met me. I don’t care about a state senate seat. I want to go to Washington.

Get to know ANITA RADCLIFFE who’s TWENTY-EIGHT years old and works as a SEAMSTRESS in town. She is from CORONA and are often times mistaken for LAURA DREYFUSS while others say she reminds them of ANITA from 101 DALMATIANS.
has absolutely loved fashion ever since she was just a little girl, when she would pore over her grandmother’s old fashion magazines for hours. she spent a lot of time at her grandmother’s house growing up and it was the only thing she had in the house that actually interested her.
this was what led to her asking her grandmother to teach her to sew. it was something the two bonded over. her grandmother helped her recreate a few of her favorite pieces from the magazines. and she continued to help her once anita began coming up with her own designs.
she was gifted perdita, her beloved dalmatian, for her high school graduation. she thinks it was likely a ploy by her parents to get her to go to school closer to home. not that she ever had any plans of actually leaving corona for school. she rented an apartment near the local college rather than stay in a dorm., so she wouldn’t force her parents to take care of perdita.
met candice da vil in college, someone who seemed to be just as passionate about fashion as she was (maybe even more so?). ended up working for her after graduation which was just an absolute dream come true to her tbh/ she never thought she’d be able to land herself a nice job so quickly.
for several years, her career was everything to her. she wasn’t going to let anything get in the way or distract her from her goals. the only thing that was ever more important to her than her job was perdita. well, until she met roger radcliffe, that is. it’s a cliché, she knows, but she fell in love with the man the moment she ran into him in the park. and some people might say that their relationship moved too quickly but she disagrees. when you know, you know.
her engagement to roger unfortunately cost her her job. she was fired on the spot after breaking the news to candice. it devastated her but she understood. her priorities had changed. surely, candice noticed something that anita didn’t. plus, it just gave anita more time to focus on the wedding planning.
she was gifted her grandmother’s wedding dress at her engagement party. It took some convincing for anita to actually take it, terrified that she’d damage it in the altering process. her grandmother had faith in her and even came over a few times to help her with it. the dress was only slightly altered to make it wearable for anita and so she could make it her own. tt really didn’t take much for her to be happy with it though, she always loved vintage clothing after all. her wedding veil was also passed down to her from her mother and had been for quite a few generations. the only new things she wore that day were her shoes and jewelry.
the wedding took place in the very park that her and roger met in. both of their dogs were involved in the ceremony, of course. anita made their costumes herself and although they were very simple, she was pretty proud of herself. perdita was the flower dog (alongside her cousin’s little daughter) and pongo was the ring bearer. she would never admit this to anyone but her closest friends and roger but she did briefly consider having perdita as her maid/’dog’ of honor.
life after the wedding was nice. she had more time to devote to her own personal sewing projects, was able to stay home with her dogs all day, and got to spend much more time with her friends and family. she never really looked back at her old career.
until, seemingly out of nowhere, candice offered her her old job back. she almost turned it down, not sure if she was going to be able to properly prioritize her work, but was encouraged to accept by roger. and as happy as she was with her life, it is a little nice to be working again.
she’s worn glasses since she was a child. her vision has never really been bad enough to necessitate wearing them all the time, she usually just wears them when she’s reading, driving, and working.
absolutely loves murder mysteries. she’s sure it stems from hours of watching murder, she wrote with her grandmother as a child, a show she’s still quite fond of today. most of the books she has on her bookshelf are murder mysteries, most of them written by agatha christie.
while most of her designs are a little eccentric, her personal clothing choice is different. she’s been told by several people that she dresses like a grandma and while she doesn’t entirely agree with their assessments, she can see why they think that. most of her clothes are pieces she bought from thrift shops. A lot of sweaters, button-ups, and long skirts.
a bit of a doormat tbh. she’s way too understanding and a bit too forgiving. not the type to stand up for herself but will stand up for other people (and animals). 100% a people pleaser, she just wants people to like her.
wanted connections
best friend!!! around her age, was maid (or man/person) of honor at her wedding, i like the idea of them being friends since they were kids but i’m up for anything. just pls... give her her best friend.
other close friends in general, could have been part of her bridal party at her wedding, not necessary tho. i just want her to have lots of friends. :)
exes!!! have to be men bc she is Straight, likely from college or high school. she never really dated after college until she met roger. honestly probably still friends or at least acquaintances. i feel like she’s definitely the type to try to stay friends with her exes.
coworkers? idk if there’s anyone else who works for candice but if there is... anita definitely knows them as well.
other friends who are into fashion like she is!!!!
dog owner friends!! they met at the dog park and their dogs just get along really well
anything!!! pls give her anything and everything
