PRESENTS

christmas comes closer and closer. i love christmas, but i hate buying presents. every year the same shit. what is the perfect present. up here- far away from my loves, i decided to give the my loves a piece of mine. knits since i started with twined knitting few days ago, i can't stop it. wasting my sleep.... this one is the first ... mittens, for a lady who brings love and joy, fun, conversations and A LOT of coffee. nobody at home, somebody up here.

THE BEGINNING

Um ehrlich zu sein war ich immer zu verängstigt um wirklich konstant "zweizustricken". Die rede ist von twined knitting. Bis auf ein paar jämmerliche Versuche ein Paar Pulswärmer zu erschaffen ( was allerdings nie geklappt hat ! ) ist nicht viel dabei rausgekommen. Zu groß war der Respekt gegenüber zwei Fäden. Nunja- es hat mich gepackt. Ich würde es als Sucht beschreiben. Die Sucht nach Twined Knitting. Ich finde, dass ich einen Entzug brauche !

Start with the pattern : ( knit pattern on every needle )

Stricke zuerst Teil A einmal, dann Teil B, wiederhole Teil B 3x, dann 1 R r 

knit at first part A one time, than part B, repeat part B 3 times, knit one row

Für das Daumenloch werden 11 M abgekettet. Am besten sind die letzten 6  M der 1. Nadel und die ersten 5 M der 2. Nadel.

for the thumbhole cast off 11 stichtes, ( last 6 of the first needle and first 5 of the second needle )

Mit den restlichen Maschen 5 R r, dann das "Handrücken-Viereck" weiterlaufen lassen, dazu die letzten 3 M  der 4. Nadel und die ersten 4 M der 1. Nadel  links stricken. restliche M werden r gestrickt. ( 9 R )

knit 5 rows, continue " back of the hand - square ", purl the last 3 stitches of the fourth needle and the first 4 stitches of the first needle, knit other stitches ( 9 rows )

5 R r, 1 R l , abk.

 knit 5 rows, purl one row, cast off.

HAUPTTEIL

40 Maschen anschlagen, 1 Reihe links stricken, 1 Reihe rechts stricken, 2 Reihen links stricken, 5 Reihen rechts

Dann Muster folgen

MAIN PART

Cast on 40 stitches, Row 1 purl, Row 2 knit, Row 3+4 purl, knit 5 Rows

then follow the pattern

Mit Muster bei der 4. ( letzten ) Nadel beginnen.

Pro Punkt eine linke Masche. 

Leeres Kästchen bedeutet rechte Masche.

Nadel Nr. 3 wird komplett rechts gestrickt.

Begin the pattern at the fourth ( last ) needle

a point means purl

empty box knit

needle no. 3 - just plain stitches

Nachdem das Muster beendet ist, werden zwei Reihen rechts gestrickt, dabei aber die mittleren zwei Maschen der ersten Nadel links beibehalten. ( bis zum Ende der Stulpe ! )

Dann eine Reihe links und ca. 11 cm rechts.

Maschen für das Daumenloch stilllegen ( 10 M ) 

Weitere 4,5 cm rechts stricken, 4 Reihen links, abketten.

After finishing pattern, knit 2 rows, don't forget to purl stitch 5+6 of the first needle ( till finish ! ) 

Purl one row, than knit about 11 cm 

put stitches for thumb hole on a clasp pin ( 10 stitches )

knit another 4,5 cm , purl 4 cm, cast of 

DAUMEN

Für den Daumen weitere 6 Maschen aufnehmen  und die 16 Maschen auf 4 Nadeln verteilen ( 4 M / N )

abhängig von der Daumenlänge ca 3 cm rechts stricken, 3 Reihen links, abketten.

Fäden vernähen. Fertig.

THUMB

cast on 6 stitches and put 16 stitches on 4 needles ( 4 stitches / needle )

depending on the length of the thumb knit about 3 cm, purl 3 rows, cast off

sew threads, Done.
