2k17 - finally
Right, I told you I would get round to it. this is my summer 2k17.
what a great summer tbh. began (kinda) spending a week in the Lake District for geography coursework, back home Friday then off to Italy Saturday. after a 24hr coach journey, we finally arrived in montecatini terme, that week was so lovely, going to san gimigano, Florence and lucca <3. back home and time for work experience. again, another lovely week which I thoroughly enjoyed. my birthday was on the Tuesday - they were so lovely and went out for lunch with my dad and the lady who was mainly in charge of my work experience and defo drank too much prosecco. evening was lovely too with a few friends spent down Southbank - got served againnn!!!! proseccoooo!!! then, after work experience, a week to get shit done. then off on a med cruise - again, was nice, but grandad was super slow (I know he's gone 80 and can't help it). Lisbon was lovely though when we visited - I've realised I defo love visiting cities, what with Florence earlier on in the summer. then we got back after a week - also realised Guernsey was nice toooo, along with Spain and Portugal ofc. week to get more shit done - didn't do as much as I should have though. V Fest on the Saturday which was decent - Craig David was the bomb!!! then kings summer school - was kinda nervous going up there, but after talking to a girl on the way from the station to the college was all okay. stayed in flats and flat mates were all lovely lovely (flat chat). everything was freeeee!!! geography lectures and labs were amaze, especially the human lectures on power and the landscape and the urban heat island. 100% know I now want to study geography at university :) also, made some smashing northern friends - bring on reading 2k18!!!! oh, and then returned on the Friday and caught a flight 10am sat morning, only to the Caribbean!!!!! oh gosh was it amaze. the snorkelling!!! I even held a sting ray and was so proud after I was shitting myself being in the sea with lots and lots surrounding me. it felt so strange when they swam past u and touched u it was horrible at first. but I held one and conquered my fear!!!!! also was very proud of myself snorkelling in general - I tend not to like the sea, but it was just so clear and warm and blue it was too hard to resist. saw a 5ft barracuda on horse shoe reef as well as an eagle rayyyy. was so so amaze. also had loads of time jus to chill, in between writing my personal statement and doing extra wider geography reading - always fun for Bruce Parry to accompany u to the beach/pool. antiguaaaaa u were amaze. I can't believe the hurricane (irma) struck under a week before we left!!!! category 5!??!!! so so lucky, but I really do feel for the people living out there. their houses and livelihoods must be absolutely ruined. I bought a real! pearl bracelet on the beach on our last day, and I've kept it on ever since. I love itttttt and it’s a real pearl too - I tested it. it kinda makes me think of them back there too and how they must all be struggling rn :((( I hope everyone is okay who's been affected. lots of love, Anna xxx
