Palm Sunday

When I was a child, my mother would pass me a Palm to carry in church and lay at the cross. I did not understand the significance of this. Today I went to church and saw my cousin hand her two year old son a palm to carry. He smiled, ran with it up to the cross, and laid it down. I always struggle imagining Jesus as an actual person. But today I thought of how a mother may have passed her son or daughter a Palm or shawl to put on the ground before Jesus. The child would lay it down, and smile up at Jesus. He would smile back and see the child He loves. The child He created. And the child He would die for in just a few, short days.
