Keenan is one of my favorite characters in the Ember series and I decided to draw little him. 

Spoilers below  

I feel like a lot of people forget that he’s not just The Nightbringer. I mean, the guy saw his entire species destroyed by humans. He’s arguably the most scarred character in the entire series and I think all people can seem to see is ‘Bad Guy Keenan’.

Sabaa Tahir has created an antagonist with depth and layers. Sometimes I think the little Keenan that Laia’s dad found was far from a lie. He’s afraid and alone, something I think he and Laia had in common. It’s probably why Laia did actually feel some sort of connection to him.

I don’t condone what he’s done in the books (cause he is an antagonist after all), but I think he needs some saving.

I was searching for a random book on my shelf and stumbled upon “A torch against the night” and as soon as I saw the spine I was hit with a vision of the scene where they finally kiss at the end of the book!!!
