Swimming Pool and Spa Water - 5 Simple Steps to Crystal Blue Water
Tumblr media
The 5 simple steps to a crystal blue swimming pool and spa environment and the keys to enjoying your backyard oasis and investment each and every day.
#1 CIRCULATION - Moving water creates a clean and enjoyable swimming experience. Why? Because you'll get the most effective use of your sanitizer when you achieve circulation to every nook and cranny of your pool. The more movement your backyard oasis experiences, the harder it is for bacteria and algae to find a foothold, grow and set up housekeeping on the internal surfaces. The source of all circulation is the pump, which feeds the filtration system. As water passes into the filter system, cleaning begins, which is another beneficial byproduct of circulation. It's BEST to schedule circulation during daylight hours. Aim to have circulation for approximately 8 hours per day.
#2 FILTRATION - The filter in the equipment system is the piece of apparatus which accounts for your backyard oasis sparkling and clear appearance, removing both visible and invisible debris from the system. As the pump circulates freely, the water flows through the filter. Once the pump basket captures the large debris, water rushes into the filter, which traps microscopic particles. Over time the filters ability to remove microscopic matter diminishes as the filter media essentially becomes full. At this point the filter must be disassembled and the media cleaned.
#3 CLEANING - Daily scrubbing of you're the internal surface is not necessary but once a week brushing helps to free any debris that your filter or automatic cleaner might miss or leave behind. Brush steps, benches, walls and the floor. The physical movement on the surface eliminates lurking, unseen contaminants that increase the murky factor of your pool and spa.
#4 TESTING - Be proactive and you'll avoid clarity problems. TEST YOUR CHEMISTRY FREQUENTLY - At least 2 to 3 times per week. Nothing saves more money and time than preventing problems and nothing prevents problems better than testing frequently. When testing, examine pH and active sanitizer levels. By monitoring these two items at regular intervals, you'll soon discover patterns in your system. Also, regular testing allows you to detect how having lots of swimmers (versus only two or three) affects your chemical readings. As you respond to test results by adding the appropriate chemical treatment product, you'll learn how to gauge how each product affects the chemical balance.
#5 MAINTENANCE - Maintaining a crystal clear swimming and spa environment isn't magic. The secret hinges upon adding the right products at the right time in the right amounts. The keys to maintenance are Sanitization, Oxidation / Shock, Algae Prevention and Chemical Balance. When you master the basics, your investment rewards you with a sanitary environment, the cornerstone of a refreshing swimming and relaxing experience. Balancing the chemistry also protects your equipment and internal surface; unbalanced chemistry can actually damage both items permanently.
Master these five steps and enjoy your swimming pool and spa each and every day! Ignore these simple key items and plan on sending more time maintaining than relaxing.

Seven Tips for a Successful Sale of Your Used Boat
Tumblr media
It's a lot easier to buy your boat than to sell it. I guess that's why you see far more articles and books about buying a boat than about selling one. To sell your boat takes time, money, patience, and finding the right buyer. Having to sell your boat first, before upgrading to another boat, can add pressure and be frustrating. But, if you know the seven tips below, there's a good chance your boat will sell faster than it otherwise would have.
7 Top Tips to Selling Your Used Boat:
1. Make your boat more saleable-take these six steps
Declutter your boat and let it shine. A clean boat sells.
Don't lose interest. Buyers pick up on this. Staying interested in keeping up with repairs and how the boat looks is extremely important.
Fix what's broken. Don't expect buyers to fix things. If something breaks or looks worn, either repair or replace it. This shows the potential buyer that you still care about your boat. That energy rubs off onto the buyer.
Clean the engine room. No oil, grease, or paint-chipped parts. Unfortunately, this is the biggest deal breaker. It's like walking into someplace that has mold on the walls, dirty bathrooms, and greasy carpets-a real turnoff!
Clean the bilge. Make sure it's not full of dirt, leaves, oil, etc. A smelly bilge is another turnoff, especially for women buyers.
Remove personal items. You want the buyers to imagine or envision their own stuff on the boat. Also, any personal stuff you leave on the boat could, and will, be assumed by the potential buyers to be part of the sale.
2. Determine your boat's best price
If you decide to sell your boat yourself, do your homework. Search the internet for boats similar to yours with the same features, model, and year. Look at used boat magazines. What are these boats selling for? What condition are they in? Where are they located? Are they being sold privately or through a yacht broker?
Yacht brokers can do more research through various websites and books such as ABOS™ Marine Blue Book, BUC® Used Boat Price Guide, and PowerBoat Guide. These books give them an idea of a boat's current value. The websites they use can tell them what a particular boat sold for in the past. If, in your research, you see a comparable boat being sold via a yacht broker in your area, there's a good chance that you should be pricing your boat similarly.
Once you have an idea of how much boats like yours are selling for, you can then make a logical decision on how much to sell yours for. Don't get trapped into thinking that your boat is worth more than it really is; or, if you still owe money for your boat, that you can sell the boat for the loan balance. Timing is everything, and pricing your boat appropriately is what helps it be seen, then sold, promptly.
3. Take photographs
Boaters love looking at photographs of boats and their parts-the more, the better. Think about the types of photos you like looking at. Take a walk around your boat and take lots of photographs from different angles of the port, transom, starboard, stern, and bow. On sailboats, take photos of the companion way, mainsail, and mast. If you can get pictures of your boat from the water and/or pictures of your boat in the water away from docks, that will be even better.
Next, take inside photos. Before you do, make sure the inside of your boat is tidy and clean, and that everything you're not selling with the boat is out of the way. In other words, if you are not selling that flat screen TV in your salon, don't have it in your pictures. Take photos of the electronics, forward cabin, engine room, engines, heads, galley, salon, state rooms, v-berth, etc. You'll also need photos of the helm, fly bridge, companion, and mate helm seats. If the boat is on the hard, take photos of the propellers, rudder, and/or keel.
Take overall photos, not just close-ups. Again, look at other boats for sale and notice which of their photos you like to look at-guaranteed, your potential buyers will like them also.
4. Advertise
Where you place your ad will determine how much information goes into it. However, the more places you can place your ad, the better are your chances that it will be seen. There are several websites and forums that will let you advertise your boat for free. These include Craigslist.org, BoatBoss.com, and AdPost.com, to name a few. Other sites advertise no fee, but will actually charge you in the vicinity of $350 up front. So, make sure you read the fine print first before placing your boat ad online. Used boat magazines are still a good way to go, but don't limit yourself to just them. They are harder to update with price changes, photographs, etc.
Your ad should include a full description of your boat, the number of hours on the engine and generator, as well as dates and notes on any major rebuilds. Is your boat fresh water or raw cool? You'll want to reveal any weaknesses the boat may have, how long you've owned the boat, and, most importantly, why you're selling it. It's okay to say you're moving up to a bigger boat, stepping down to a smaller one, or retiring from boating. At the end of this chapter you will find a table with a list of specifications you should include in your ad-use this as a worksheet for writing your ad.
Wherever it is, put a "for sale" sign on your boat so others around will know you're selling.
Last, but not least, create a sales brochure for your boat and keep copies handy.
5. Time your sale
Most boats sell between March and September, with a lull in late August and early September. During April through June, people are looking, especially, for purchase by the July 4th holiday. November quiets down again. If at all possible, have your boat in its natural environment (the water) for the best show. On average, it takes a good three to six months to sell a boat. However, some boats have been known to sit for years. It depends on how well you priced your boat to sell, how clean it is, and how well it's advertised.
6. Decide whether to use a broker
If you don't have time to do the research to write and place ads, create and put up signs, take calls and make appointments, show your boat, or sell your boat, a broker is the best way to go. A broker can do all the running around for you, i.e., place the ads, qualify the buyer, show your boat, etc. A broker has access to other brokers; better websites on which to place ads than non-brokers have, such as YachtWorld.com; and the used boat books mentioned in Tip 2 above.
Most boat brokers charge a 10 percent commission, though some charge less. Most brokers truly earn their commissions.
7. Be careful about upkeep and use during the selling process
Maintain your boat insurance until you close the deal.
Keep the area around the portholes clean, the batteries acid free, and no mold or mildew showing anywhere. If you're demonstrating the boat, take off the plastic. Let the potential new owners feel the wind in their faces.
Don't use your boat after you've signed a purchase and sale agreement (P&S) and/or have a deposit from the buyer.
If your boat is old and/or hasn't had been surveyed recently, contact an accredited marine surveyor and have it done. Either way, have a copy of the latest marine survey for your boat available for review by potential buyers.
Have receipts on hand for big-ticket items you've bought and repairs you've done, or the name and contact information of the service center that did your repairs, in case your potential buyer or the marine surveyor asks to see them.
As mentioned in Tip 4, here is a list that you may want to put into a table and can use as a worksheet for developing effective text for advertisements and brochures about your boat.

Why Men Won't Go To The Doctor
Tumblr media
Have you ever wondered why you can't convince your husband or boyfriend to go to the doctor even for a consultation? Have you ever tried tricking him to drive you to see a doctor only to watch him turn the car around and head for home? If you have gone through this rite of passage, then perhaps this article can help you understand some of the reasons why men are so reluctant to go to the doctor.
One of the most common reasons why men won't go to the doctor is the "I'm fine" mentality. In this state of mind, men think that they only have to go to the doctor when they feel extremely sick. If it's just a mild fever or infrequent coughing, they'll just say that they're fine and try to go on with their normal activities. The problem with this approach is that they'll often disregard the tell-tale signs of other health issues because it's not something that could really stop them from working or doing whatever they want. They'll end up getting something worse because they didn't get immediate treatment and the symptoms worsened.
Another reason why men won't go to the doctor is that between playing golf or watching their favorite extreme reality series, they can't find enough time to make an appointment to the doctor. It's quite simple actually, between something you really like to do and something that you feel is just cumbersome and uncomfortable, you'll surely choose the one that you like to do. Men need to realize the importance of going to do doctor even if it means missing a football game on TV. This realization should also involve actually getting off the couch and doing it and not just promising that they will go.
There are many other reasons why men won't go to the doctor but it probably boils down to this: they are afraid. That is correct. The big strong men are scared of having to drop their pants or shots with big needles, etc. However, men need to bite the bullet so to speak and understand that going to the doctor is for their loved ones as much as it is for them.

Reminiscing John Lennon's Final Interview
Tumblr media
On a dark evening of December 8, 1980, the music world was shocked to hear the untimely assassination of Beatles legend John Lennon by Mark David Chapman. Hours before the Lennon death, RKO Radio Network DJ Dave Sholin and his crew had an exclusive final interview with the Beatles icon. In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Lennon assassination, Y101 Always First provides an in-depth look on the people's reactions on the legacy he left behind.
In the afternoon of that day, Sholin and his fellow interviewers Ron Hummel, Laurie Kay, and Bert Keane were privileged enough to have taken part in the last interview of John Lennon and Yoko Ono at their Dakota building residence in New York. In an unprecedented first, the public gets an inside look on the key conversations with Lennon and how the immediate aftershocks of his assassination changed them and the world that mourned his death.
In the build-up to the interview, the crew reminisced in great detail as to how the Lennon-Ono residence looked like as if they were there. They admit that it took them about a month just to set up that historic interview with John and Yoko. As the anticipation builds up, the crew talked with Yoko while John just finished their iconic Rolling Stone pictorial with Annie Leibovitz.
Yoko vividly recalled the tingling sound of glass just like how "Just Like Starting Over" epitomized the sexual revolution and the counter-culture movement of the 70s. Just as they were getting started with their interview and John Lennon enters the scene. Sholin recalled that Lennon's presence 'put him at ease' as if he is like 'an old friend he knew.' Hummel felt at awe as if he was a little boy meeting his favourite idol.
Lennon even poked fun at Keane as if he was just a character at Sesame Street while Kay was concerned about the previous Lennon interview with Playboy and he may not talked about his Beatles past. Apparently, she was wrong and viewed him as the 'nicest human being' she ever known. Lennon's sabbatical provided him the inspiration for his last album "Double Fantasy" and really solidified his solo career thereby separated him from the John Lennon of Beatles fame with the John Lennon we know as Yoko Ono's partner. His hit single "Woman" is believed to have encapsulated John's adoration to Yoko.
Lennon relished his times as father to Sean and his domestic lifestyle as the father he wanted to be. He sacrificed his music career and enjoyed his role as a 'house-husband.' Despite his five-year self-exile, Lennon still managed to find his creative talent and get back again to the business he knows best - making his own music.
All the women from John's life from his mother Julia to Yoko played an important part in his creative process. In fact, Sholin can relate how John and Yoko are perfect for each other as to how they made eye contact to each other and finish each other's statements. In a rare moment in their discussion despite John's jovial mood and optimism, he displayed an apparent sadness as he opens up aspects of his personal life including his haunting 18-month 'lost weekend" where his relationship with Yoko hit rock bottom and how he tried to fixed things up.
As the consummate storyteller that he is, Lennon has showed how he grown up and overcame the challenges in his career and personal life. Hummel recalled Lennon's animated response to the socio-political dynamics of the turbulent decade of the 60s and 70s as shown in "Across the Universe" and "Imagine." He espoused the philosophy of 'music is love' to counter the horrors of the Vietnam War and the political climate of the time.
Hummel would recall an ironic twist to the waning moments of the interview wherein John talks about his own mortality. "...I realised that all my work won't be done until I'm dead and buried..." is an eerie statement on what the Lennon death might become. Yet he was hoping to be still making record but it's unfortunate that his life would end by the bullets of a Charter Arms.38 Special revolver used by Chapman hours after the interview.

Starting a Calling Cards Business
Tumblr media
HOW IT WORKS:
Before we discuss how to start your own calling cards business, it is important to understand how calling cards actually work.
Selling VoIP calling cards basically means buying software (class 5 softswitch server with calling cards software, also called a calling cards platform) and wholesale minutes to all destinations and then selling them to your clients. When someone buys a calling card from you at their grocery store, they will use your minutes to make their calls and your server will bill them accordingly.
Because this system works with VoIP, you will be able to offer your clients calls at a fraction of the price of regular calls but still offer them great quality calling.
All different types of people use calling cards, whether they are people that want to call family and friends abroad, tourists that want to call their home country or small businesses that have international clients - they have benefits for everyone!
ADVANTAGES OF OFFERING CALLING CARDS AS A SERVICE OVER OTHER VOIP SERVICES
There are so many different VoIP apps today that let you make VoIP calls directly from your mobile phone - without the need of a middle-man, you may be wondering why calling cards still have a place in the market today?
First of all, many software providers allow you to use their cards from both landlines and mobiles. VoIP apps generally only work from mobiles. Calling cards are very easy to use and generally work without problems. When it comes to the VoIP apps, they are not always as reliable. When the user has internet that is not strong enough for example, the calls will be disturbed or not work at all.
There is a big market for selling calling cards as people are always looking for cheaper ways to call abroad. If done properly, this can turn into a very lucrative business.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF CALLING CARDS
There are two types:
PIN
Just as the name says it, users will need to enter their pin in order to make a call (usually found on the back of the card)
PINless
These calling cards will recognize the user and they will not have to put a pin before using the card
Once signed in, the system will ask the user to enter their access number, in the case of PIN cards - the user will need to enter their pin as well. The system will then tell the user the amount of credit he still has in his account. Now the user can enter the phone number he wishes to call - it's that simple!
You can offer your clients either only PIN, only PINless or a combination of both types of calling cards.
WHAT YOU NEED IN ORDER TO START:
In order to start a successful calling cards business there are several components you will need
Hardware
Class 5 softswitch
This is the main part of your business. You can get a softswitch from a company providing VoIP services for resellers. Make sure you get your server from a reliable company - if your softswitch doesn't work the whole business will be down. if you are just starting out, one server should be enough, when your business grows, consider adding servers to ensure stability. Having several servers also means that if one server is down for whatever reason, the other one can be used and your business won't suffer. If possible, try to get different servers from different companies to work together.
If you want to start your business with only minimal investment, you can host or rent a softswitch - this means that you pay monthly instead of paying everything upfront.
Research different class 5 softswitches from different companies and see what they have to offer. When looking into them, make sure you know what the company does when the server is down - do they have 24-hour support in case something goes wrong?
Also check out if they offer training and use it if it is offered.
Stable internet connection
This is also a very important part of the business, if there is no internet connection - there won't be any business.
It is advised to put your server in a co-location, as the internet is much less likely to go down in such places than in your home or office.
Also consider having a second internet connection as a backup in case the regular one goes down, or maybe your internet provider has a backup himself in case something goes wrong.
You can also consider having a generator to make sure your business keeps going in case of a power-cut. This obviously depends on the location you are working from, in some places it is needed more than in others.
PC
You will need a PC to manage the calling cards platform via web-interface
Printer
This is optional, you can use a printer to print your calling cards or you can have them made by a printing shop.
Software
Calling cards platform
The calling cards software or platform can be either part of or an addition to the class 5 softswitch. The calling cards software will ensure the smooth running of your business.
When researching different companies to get your platform from ask what type of calling cards it supports; PIN calling cards, PINless calling cards, or both. Ideally it should work with both.
Integrated billing
The VoIP billing software will collect the data from the call your client made, and charge for it. Integrated billing can come as part of your class 5 softswitch package.
The billing system should be easy to use and be 100 percent reliable, a reliable billing system means a reliable income.
Check out what features are important to you and make sure they are provided in your package; card PIN generation services, expiry dates, usage fee, prepaid/postpaid/flat fee accounting...
Callback, PIN codes generation system, IVR system
These are extras and make your services better.
International routes
Once you have all the hardware and software needed to start a successful calling cards business, you have to start thinking about the routes. This means you need to buy airtime in other words minutes that will allow your clients to call abroad.
Most wholesale route providers specialize in a certain area or continent, this means that they will have cheap rates to that place but they will charge more for other areas.
Get different providers for different areas, check out who has the best offers for each destination. It is a good idea to have more than one provider for each destination - that way if one route goes down, your clients can still make calls using the route from another provider.
There are also a-z providers, this means they offer routes to all destinations, this is convenient but they are also typically more expensive.
Choose international route providers wisely - you want your clients to be happy with their calls.
Choose providers based on:
Price
Obviously price is important as you want to make money. Some providers charge a monthly fee in addition to the rate per minutes so add that up when comparing different costs.
Take note of how you will be billed i.e. per second, per 30 seconds, per minute... if you are charged per minute and you will have many short calls then you will be wasting a lot of money.
Quality
Quality is just as important as price. If the call quality is bad, the clients won't come back. Make a call yourself using that route and check if it is good, there should be no delay, jitters, echo...
Also note the post-dial delay, this means the amount of time it takes from when the user dials till it rings by his recipient, the less time the better.
If the price for a route looks too good to be true, it probably is so choose wisely!
Reliability
If the route goes down, your clients will not be able to make calls. Find out how often it goes down and what the provider does about it.
Capacity
How much traffic can the route handle to that destination? If for example you think you will have 100 people calling India at the same time - make sure the route to India can handle that.
A FEW MORE STEPS BEFORE YOU CAN ACTUALLY START SELLING YOU CALLING CARDS...
Print calling cards
Before you can sell the calling cards, they need to be printed. Two points are important when designing you calling cards:
Quality
You want people to be able to use your calling cards for as long as their account has credit on it. This means that it shouldn't break after a few uses. Also, the place where the pin is, needs to be durable - it shouldn't come off before the calling card is sold but it should still come off easily when scratched.

Find the Best Track and Trace Cell Phone Number Service - Save Time and Money by Reading This Guide
Tumblr media
Are you in situations where you are getting repeated calls to your house or cell phone from a cell phone number that you don't recognise? It is very likely that you took the option of not answering the call but then spent the rest of the day or night wondering who it was and thinking it would be great if there was a way to track or trace the number to find out who was calling. The good news is that there is a way to do this by using what is commonly referred to as a 'reverse phone number search' service. I have used these services myself.
My top tip for choosing which website to run your search on is to avoid going to any site that claims that they can deliver you details on a cell phone for free. This is not possible as the cell phone number databases which are available are only searchable for a small cost. I will tell you which are the cheapest and most accurate ones later in this short guide. Now, even though i say avoid the free number searches, this is not entirely true. What you can do is perform a free number search for any land line number, which could be useful for future reference. However there is caution with some free sites, they may ask for you own number details as well as your name and location. Avoid these sites.
I found a few sites which made a minimal charge for providing full details on a cell phone number. Because the search results were so good and that the search was in confidence - no one knew i had made the search - i upgraded to an unlimited account for searching multiple cell phones.

7 Reasons to Buy Granny Annexes
Tumblr media
Granny annexes, also known as garden houses or granny flats can be used for many things. Here are some of the reasons you may want to consider buying a granny annex:
1 For Granny.
If you've got your mother, your mother-in-law, your grandmother, or another elderly family member living with you, their own quarters could make everyone happy. This could be the perfect balance of assisted and independent living for your loved one.
2 For the teenager in your house.
Have you got a teenager who makes a lot of mess and noise? You may want to move them into a granny annex on your property. This could be a great way to begin the transition from living with you to living out on their own.
3 A guest house.
Having a cute little guest cottage on your property could be an excellent way to spend time with company and give them their own space. This could be great for those with a pool for changing and for supplies as well.
4 Start a B&B.
Bed and breakfasts can have charming rooms in the home or could offer the letting of the guest house. Want to supplement your income? A charming little guest house on your property could help you with housing your guests and help you supplement your income.
5 Home office.
For those who work at home occasionally, or for those who from home full-time, work-life balance can be tricky. Granny annexes could be a great way to be home and leave home to get work done at the same time
6 Home gym.
Today's garden houses can be quite small or as big as a small flat. You could house your treadmill, your elliptical machine, some free weights, and more. This could be a great space for doing yoga, getting in your cardio, kickboxing, and etcetera.
7 The "Man" cave.
Imagine a place where you can create your home theatre, billiard room, play your arrows, set up a bar, put your big screen plasma? The man cave can house your hunting trophies, your DVD collection, and be a place to play poker. Imagine the possibilities?
