With the extra heat the ocean absorbs mixed with the acidity, there are implications for ecosystems and habitats including deep sea coral reefs.
Also the extra heat goes to the oceans surface where it can supply more energy to hurricanes, showing a link to extreme weather.

About one-third of our carbon dioxide emissions are absorbed by the oceans, where they react with seawater to form a weak acid. This results in ocean acidification, a lowering of the ocean’s pH.
