Kitten's Play of the Day

Kittens need vets, sometimes they get sick or need a good ole wellness exam. Hike your kitten up on a table (steel would be even better, but you can always get some galvanized sheet metal in about 24-36" sheets at Lowes for about $10 bucks you can use over and over and just lay on your table or floor!), leash them, and hold them in place on all fours while you do routine check-ups. Exams you can “check off” on your “list” might include:

-Checking kittens milking tits are in good working order by clipping them with a few clothespins and batting at them to measure “responsiveness”

-Check their toenails are trimmed and trim any yourself that need tended to. (Remove any paw covers or mitts if they have those on) If you are good at it, you can also take the time to paint their fingernails as well. If you have a kitten who bites at them too much, apply some bitter tasting nail polish. (You can find it in drug stores)

-Hair examination by checking they are properly shaved. You may, if you wish, use this time to strap kitten to the four legs of the table and expose them and shave them yourself. 

-Sponge bath to prep for flea medication. Have a cold bin of water with ice in it and a sponge soaked in it, ready. Squeeze out some water and rub the ice cold water all over kitten’s body. Then come back with her “flea medicine” which can be a favorite oil scent in a tiny eyedropper bottle. Apply one or two drops on the back nape of their neck, just like you would a regular cat.

-Perform a cavity check ensuring your kitten (if a girl) is still fertile with an “ultrasound wand”. Schedule a playtime and allow kitten to pick what toy they want you to use for a reward. They can’t bring it to you unless kitten gets it with their teeth and crawls on all fours to you with it in their mouth and offer it to you. They can offer by sitting up on their back legs, hands made into paws and wait for you to grab the item from their mouth, or they can simply crawl sexily on all fours up to you and drop it at your feet or wait until you offer your hand of acceptance and have them drop it in your hand from their mouth.

Kittens Play of the Day

Does your kitten try to get out of their cage? Do they complain while in it? Then tell kitten that You are happy to lock them in the cage and provide them with a key.

In the meantime, take the masterlock key and stick the key code end in an ice cube tray square of water (the top part of key leave out..we will explain why in a minute) and stick it in the freezer overnight. (you can also do this with that extra “spare” key they usually give you and keep it prepared for a rainy day) 

So, when kitty becomes a bit too out of control, complains, or you just want a time out punishment to put in their own hands, let them know the more effort they put into their time out, the sooner they can get out. Kittens Play of the Day

So kitty found a new friend and is inviting them over for a play date? Here’s a fun way for them to play. Give a play collar to both and lock them on. The idea is that with every hour or half hour, a new amount of chain is presented. So, start with the longest and have as many shorter ones depending on how long their friend intends to stay and play.

Roughly…

Every 30 minutes, shorten by half a foot. (6")

Or…

Every hour, shorten by one full foot. (12")

Now what to do with the chain you ask? Easy. Take a carabiner and clip one on each end of the chain, longest one first. Attach one carabiner end to one kittens’ o-ring collar and the opposite chain end carabiner to the other kittens’ o-ring collar. This way they are connected by one long chain. So, as the play progresses…the chain gets shorter between them, until they are extremely close. You can make them do all sorts of things, depending on if their play friend is a sexual play partner or just a kitty friend to roll around with and have fun. 

Cuff them both behind their backs and then slip an ice cube down in one of their bras or panties and see if the other kitty will help fetch it out, or deny their friend and smile. At which point…return the favor for that kitten. ;) Or just do it to them both, kitten one in the bra, kitten two in the panties.

Or wind some yarn around them, making random loops, figure eights and the like (loosely), going both over and under the chain. That should keep kitties occupied for a bit. ;)

The Rope Walk

Get a long rope about 1.5x’s the length of the room you want to play with your kitten in. Take your rope and put a knot in the rope about every foot or so. Equally if you are really into the kitten scene, take some yarn and wrap them around the rope in little balls in various places. Other little evil things are taking about 3-4 ice cubes and put them in a zip lock baggie ensuring all the air is out. Then take some saran wrap and wrap the baggie onto the rope, but not too many layers or it won’t be cold enough. Make the knots vary in thickness but no more than the size of about an orange. Make sure this is silk rope or a very smooth rope. (You’ll see why in a minute!)

Now string one end to a loop on one wall and the other to the opposite. Now tell them when you say:
