i don't understand why this is such a common line of thought. like encouraging people to just not worry about something instead of trying to think of what's making them feel this way. i don't even understand who gets reassured by those kind of posts - like it's common sense that those situations do happen, right? sometimes people talk about you behind your back, you're acting in a horrible manner, some of your friends do actually secretly hate you, etc. so what is reassuring about some stranger on the internet telling you something without knowing anything about your life. it's just that everyone wants to be reassured instead of facing the possibility they might be right. maybe it's the OCD but i just Don't Get what people find reassuring in those blanket statements. a much more useful line of thought for me would be advice on how to assess your situation, guidelines on how to actually figure out where you stand in a way that is adapted to your situation. not to mention those posts are annoying lol
