Dusk Striker / Sugar Crush !

This is the first character that really appears in the story because they are shown moving to the town the story takes place but them and Dawn are meant to be equally main characters. It’s hard to describe their personality without making them sound mean cause they AREN’T mean they’re just sarcastic and kind of edgy and used to people being mean to them and they can actually be insecure.

She is an artist mainly and interested in fashion but doesn’t create her own stuff until meeting Dawn, however she’s always wanted to learn how to use the drums.

My art fashion and self expression Magical Girl Story !

It is an overly ambitious project I’m working on hopefully it actually goes through fruition; started as me just making these two designs to try and come up with a doll line idea cause this is supposed to be a franchise for a doll line but right now I’m only in college and have yet to learn the doll part but I am making the designs and working on the story!

the general story and premise is that it takes place in a world where art and individuality is dying and being suppressed and so these magical girls called A La Modes or more simply Muses exist to influence that and do general magical girl help people and fight evil, the two characters here from left to right are Dusk Striker and Dawn Puella, their civilian identities. Their A La Mode identities are Sugar Crush and Sweet Kiss!

so. I used a micro acrylic paint pen to do the lining because I heard an expert say they do that and people are like “ohhh acrylic is fine enough stick to shirt” even though I prefer to use fabric paint

NO.

lesson fuckeeng learned I guess but I’m pissed cause it looked SO GOOD and now not only am i gonna have to repaint a whole lot of shit and repeat the waiting process and besides the black transference it made it so messy as well and unclean ;-;

this mainly happened cause while I heat sealing it I was worried about the paint burning cause stuff says “iron for three to five minutes move the iron constantly to not burn it” and with it being such a small space the areas were constantly being gone over so I lifted the covering fabric to see under, I guess it looked ?? Ok that moment?? And cause I slightly adjusted it transferred the paint on the fabric to that area.

so uh don’t do this I guess (tulip paint seems to be fine so far but only use fabric markers for certainty)

I finished cloud Shoyru shirt ! ! !

So background, I didn’t take a picture of it before so I’ll just use the stock photo to show. I was given this shirt as a gift but I did not like the colors and that was multiple years ago and I like, never wore it. I got into clothes painting recently and as well got tie dye and decided I would change the shirt into something I like more! I’m sharing this incase it gives anyone any ideas of how to upcycle and customize their own clothing!

I hate grey so i changed it to colors I do like but I don’t like how deliberate tie dye can look and learned about the ice dye method which looks more random/scattered and cool and it was my first time doing that!

This is what I used to dye it (some blues and the purply pinks, not the greenish or black)

The main inspiration and idea for changing this shirt was the want to change it to a cloud shoyru because it is really special to me. In the second grade when a friend was moving away they gave me a cloud neopet plush, it was one of the Burger King plushes I think, and that thing is really sentimental and cherished by me, so I wanted to change the Shoyru to a cloud one to match the colors better and for that reason.

I used tulip fabric paint for the first time (normal tulip paint anyways) I’d used iridescent tulip paint before, it requires a lot of layering and it feels sticky but I have experience from the iridescent paint and I believe heat setting should make it normal, I have yet to do that though for this one. I also used a fine point paint marker and fabric paint marker for the outlining

I’ve been looking at fabric/clothes painting stuff a lot for understanding and inspiration and most things are painting on blank shirts, and wanted to share that you can also do like this. I thought the way I painted the clouds didn’t look good that they looked like stripes and should’ve been bigger but I actually like them.

I have started a project (it is currently committing the soak) where I have this neopets shoyru shirt but. I hate grey and don’t like the colors of the art and text so I have decided it as my very first test subject of trying the ice dye method which I assume will not thoroughly cover the art and when I am done with the tie dye I will repaint the shoyru and text to make me like this shirt cause I LOVE SHOYRU!! cloud painted shoyru is very special to me so I will probably paint it like that, will update as I go :)
