Soooo I recently bought a ton of Loki and Thor comics, like Loki: Agent of Asgard and Journey Into Mystery and a few others, and, um… well, young Loki is a sex pot so I’m going to be opening up to doing Loki-related stories like I used to on anonstoryteller, or however you’d want, I don’t care. I just gotta get the sexpotness out, you feel me?

Do not type the way you talk. Do not write in an accent. Do not write slurring drunk sentences. Write normal god damn English and then add “he spoke in an Irish accent” or “her words ran together in a slur” or “he dropped his “g”s” or “she spoke with a stutter” and mention it like ONCE when it matters don’t please for the love of god don’t ever write the way you talk because it’s awful. Supernatural AU

So, against my own rules, I’m posting this little AU thing I did for Jessika (imastitchaway) a while ago and never really finished. I sort of remember the idea I had for it and honestly wouldn’t mind finishing it a little more but I’m not sure I remember enough to really know where to go with it, so I’m posting what little I had anyway.

The 1967 Chevrolet Impala slowed to a stop at the light. Dean drummed his fingers on the wheel and peered through the windshield at the empty intersection, letting out a slow breath through his teeth.

“Almost there, Sammy,” he said to his brother in the passenger’s seat. Sam hardly looked up from his phone.

“Mhm,” he said absentmindedly.

Dean looked over at Sam and leaned back in his seat. He watched Sam’s thumbs move as he texted, before demanding attention again.

“So,” Dean tried again with a smile in his voice. “I say we pick our beds now, before we get to the dorms.”

Sam gave a brief frown but didn’t stop texting. “Why?”

The last text I had received from him was actually from someone else, telling me sorry, but Tom must have changed his number because they’re not who I’m looking for. Knowing I was one of the people who didn’t get a “I’ve changed my number” message still stung sometimes, but I had moved past it for the most part, telling myself that it’s been years and friends grow apart sometimes, there’s nothing you can do. Still, I thought as I stood against the velvet rope barricade, waiting with a pushy sea of fans who were giggling excitedly to each other, I couldn’t help but feel this persistent spark of hope that somehow he would remember me.

Alright guys, so here's the deal, I'm a bad person. I'm a loser, I'm lazy, I'm a liar apparently, and I'm sure as hell really dramatic. So, naturally, I write to survive. 

Firstly, an update on my life. (If you were enjoying the anonymous thing, poo for you because we're dropping that. My pen name is ELI and you're all welcome to call me E. If you want to get more personal, we'll get to that later.) So, I got a sweet new job as a clinical psychologist that takes up 80% of my time. Exciting. Exhausting. Worth it. I have a seven year old son who takes up 90% of my time and remaining energy. Amazing. Exhausting. Worth it. (It's not more than 100% if they overlap, ok relax.)  I also still sometimes write. I revamped a story I've been at war with for the better part of eight years (I know, oh God) and it's finally going the way I'd like it to, and that takes up those wee hours at night that I occasionally can spare. However, writing one story, alone, with few people to bounce ideas off of, it ain't easy. So, of course, oftentimes I find myself sitting with my laptop and no less than ten notepad pages open, two notebooks beside me with almost illegibly scrawled one-liners and tidbit ideas, a large mug of coffee, the TV left on on the Netflix homepage, desperately wishing for something to spark my inspiration and start from somewhere, all the meanwhile eyeing Sims and wondering if I should just waste five hours building a virtual house. 

That brings us to here. 30minutetales is a secondary blog off of this one that I'm going to be writing online from. This one is dead. This one is the messenger blog for the secondary one. It's a vessel to the new blog's soul, if you will. 

In 30minutetales I'm going to accept various prompts. Depending how it progresses, I'll maybe pick and chose which ones to do first or at all, but in the meantime I do need to challenge my creativity to work with anything I'm given. So I accept a prompt, and in 30 minutes I will write as much as I can for that idea. Maybe it'll be the seemings of the beginning of a short story or such or an excerpt from one, I don't know yet. Like I said, we'll see. But I think if I can focus on one idea for half an hour and write as much as comes to me, it'll get easier to work on my own clock (which, as most fellow writers will know, is literally the hardest part of writing). 

I don't know how active I'll be, as I mentioned, between my family and my work, but I hope to devote half an hour or an hour each day, or at least a good few hours a week. I mean, the more prompts I get, the more ideas I'll have, the more I'll want to write them, but hey I won't beg.

I will (eventually???) have a page on the new blog outlining what sort of prompts I'm looking for and soon you will probably learn what I'm good at and what I'm shit and and if I'm shit at something, I will absolutely accept constructive criticism for improvement. (And I use "constructive criticism" loosely because I just don't like the term but for lack of a better phrase, whatever.) I will mention this now though, don't expect any fan fiction-y things because I find it really difficult to write as an existing character that somebody else created. I'm not in their head and I don't know all the details that make them act and react the way they do. I can speculate and observe but it never feels right. So if you were going to prompt something like "Sirius Black gets drunk and tries to seduce a teacher" guess what, that's not happening because as much as I love Sirius Black (and God knows I do) I can't write him and feel like I'm staying true to his character. Who, by the way, the fandom decided was a manslut, when in canon, while the ladies did fawn over him, he basically ignored them. According to HP WIKI, anyway. I digress. If you DO request something like that, I'll probably take the idea but I'll change the character's name at the very least, so it doesn't distract or discourage me.

Wow. I love to talk. 

30 Minute Tales will be open for business as soon as I am satisfied with the page and everything, but you guys can send prompts whenever you want. I know I've let you down a lot and I feel really bad, but here's to hoping this time will be better.

Whe-hey! Like I said, as of May 16th, I'll have Thursdays. For sure. 'Til then, don't expect a peep. Except this post. This is a peep. 

Okay! Brief rundown of what my schedule is like in real life under the cut! Note that if you want to keep my identity 100% anonymous, don't read it because I talk about my personal life and it's not really worth it and I dunno, spoilers? Whatever.

Started a new job with a good friend recently, and I'm prone to keeping on two jobs at once. Just my thing. I like it. Usually, obviously, I go for part time on both but this one is full time so Monday to Friday I'm going in there at six in the morning until about 3, give or take, and then I get home, make dinner and relax the fuck out until I have to get to sleep again for a repeat. Saturdays and Sundays I usually have dedicated to another job, one I'm keeping because I just really love it. Saturday evenings I volunteer at the animal shelter, so I come home from work to just change quickly and then I'm off to the shelter for another 2-3 hours and then I hang out with my fellow volunteers for another hour or two afterwards, because they're cool. Sundays are the only days that my fiancé never has to work and I rarely get those free either, so we only get the evenings together, and since I'm up at 5 on Monday, we can't do anything too extravagant. So, as of the 16th, I'll have every Thursday off, for sure. My new boss was kind enough to do that for me, probably because he likes the friend of mine that hooked me up with the job, so that's plain luck and such. Anyway. I have to basically plan anything I want to do for Wednesday night or during Thursday. I'm not complaining, I like what I do, it just doesn't leave me time to do a ton of extra stuff. 

That's not saying I don't have free time at all, but I usually just spend it being really lazy. And on a day when I know I've got work early the next morning, I don't feel motivated at all to get into any serious projects. Also, sporadic days off weren't even good enough to settle down to write, in particular. I like to sit own and write solidly for hours, because then I can focus and not keep coming back to the piece while in different moods, thus screwing over the character and scene. Capisci? 

So. Having said all that. I seriously look forward to Thursdays and I seriously hope I'll hanker down and really get back into solid writing because god I miss it. 

Also, I mean, even when this Thursday thing happens, it's not 100% that I'll spend every hour of every Thursday writing for this blog, or even writing at all. While the plan is to get back into it, I only have to much patience. 

But know that I don't forget about you guys! When I say I don't have the time, I just really don't have time.

I have a feeling that's subtle for "why haven't you been writing" but that's okay. I'm doing well, and been kept busy. After May 12th I'll definitely have Thursdays free, and I made those plans exclusively so I could reschedule writing into my life. Fingers crossed.

Gif makers wanted

This was suggested to me by a friend, and I thought it might be an interesting idea, if anyone is onboard.

If anybody with gif making skills (I'm not asking for a wizard, just someone with the time and motivation to hunt down the necessary video clips and gif them) will like to help me out, I was thinking that I had a gif at the start of every story with the character(s) in question, as a sort of secondary title or a header or something. 

So, for example, if the story in question was the beard story, the gif to prefix it would be something with Tom Hiddleston with a beard, just a simple one of him smiling or relaxing, something to suit the story. It doesn't have to be perfect, I know some stories stray too far from anything the character/actor has ever done to gif right, but if anyone would like to give it a shot, let me know!

As many people that want to help out, can. You do not need to gif every single story. If you have an idea for a certain one or few, pitch me the ideas.
