StarBell human(?) AU prologue for funsies

Short rundown of this au under the cut

Stardust

The essence of a star made by human scientists to further study the magical properties of space. Unfortunately, since he was considered more human than a star, they labelled him as a failed experiment and put him in an orphanage to be taken care of by someone else.

Growing up, he was mostly alone since he was very awkward around people, but thanks to a random plant he housed, for three weeks during his time in the orphanage, being alone wasn't so bad.

He was eventually taken in by his sister, and now he owns an apartment, models a bit here and there, and helps his sister with her duties as the guardian of the night.

Silverbell

Young fae aren't usually allowed to go out in the human world in fear of revealing too much or endangering the balance between magic and reality, but after Silverbell was accepted as a Silver Knight's apprentice, other students dared him to go out and bring something back only found in the human realm as part of some "initiation."

Sadly, in the process, he got hurt and had to take on a physical form instead of his projected one to preserve energy. On the brink of death, he was eventually found and saved by Stardust. He left when he gained enough energy to presume faerie form and hurried back home.

In the future, he basically gets access to the real world again and goes out with one mission in mind: to pay back what he owes to Stardust.

Unfortunately, Stardust doesn't really want anything..? Silverbell knows he does, he senses that he has a wish, but he won't just cough it up.

Also, this works more as a prologue than anything so uh, Stardust's wish is that he really, really wants to travel with someone. It doesn't matter if it's in space, the world, or another realm, he just really wants to experience what the universe can give with someone he could appreciate it with. He just doesn't want to say it because he doesn't wanna leave his sister alone, she doesn't directly understand what he went through because of the scientist,s but it feels better to have someone who knows it happened, someone who can remind him what he experienced wasn't just some terrible dream.

+ This takes place in a world where the supernatural blend in with the humans very often... I like to imagine there's a market dedicated only to the supernatural behind hidden walls and stuff, stardust probably doesn't know about it because he's too busy with his personal life to try and figure out if there are others hiding the fact that they're not human too.

On the other hand, Silverbell is very well versed in hidden doors to other realms because for how territorial faeries may be, the fae market has the most sought after goods in all 4 realms.

Compared to him, however, Stardust knows more about the human world, so they're just navigating everything together one step at a time.
