The Angelwood House System & Housing Arrangements
(Under a cut because it’s very long. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask the Angelwood admin staff.)
Housing Arrangements
There is one dormitory for each house (Vine, Alder and Ivy Halls), as well as a separate one for staff (Holly Hall).
Each of the student dormitories are split by gender and then by year level (nonbinary students are free to discuss their housing arrangements with the Angelwood staff).
There are generally two students to a room; occasionally some students may have no roommates--generally, the Michaelian House Leader boards alone.
Each room has a small ensuite with a toilet and shower that can be used by the boarders.
The bottom floor for each Hall are communal spaces. They’re generally split in half, so one half is used as a recreational space, while the other is used as a study hall.
Students and staff will be served all their meals in the cafeteria (located in the main school building) and is open to them from 7am-9pm. If students or staff need food while the main dining hall is closed, each Hall hosts a very small kitchenette and a variety of snacks.
The general rule of thumb for housing is that the younger you are, the closer you are to the communal area. In Alder and Ivy Halls, this means the top floor houses seniors, and the first floor houses freshmen. In Vine Hall, which only has three floors opposed to five, the freshmen and juniors are housed in the rooms closest to the main staircase, while sophomores and seniors are further out. (NOTE: In Vine Hall, the only exception to this is the house leader, who takes the closest room to the staircase.)
All staff board in Holly Hall. Staff do not share rooms; each staff member has their own room and ensuite. Holly Hall is four floors, but also significantly smaller than the student dorms. The ground floor of Holly Hall also works as a staff recreational room. Staff offices are located in the main building. Students are only allowed to enter Holly Hall in case of an after hours emergency.
Students must return to their dormitories by 9pm every night; they are free to stay up and keep lights on in their rooms all night if they choose, but recreational activities generally stop by 11pm on weekdays.
The House System
Angelwood has three houses: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.
Houses are used to divide students for study hall, school spirit activities, sporting carnivals, and dorms/boarding halls.
The house system has existed at Angelwood since its inception, and the houses are traditionally (and somewhat stereotypically) known for excelling in different fields. It’s for this reason there isn’t much house tension, nor is there any sense that one is better than the other. House rivalries do flare up, however, around sporting carnivals and the end of the year, when the House Cup is announced.
Each house has a House Leader, a senior who acts as prefect to the members of the house.
Students are allocated randomly into their houses, but people generally come from the same houses as their families.
Michael House
Named for St Michael the Archangel.
The members of this house are nicknamed “The Warriors” for sporting events, or “Michaelians” for everyday use.
Traditionally, the house excels in sports, with high participation rates in school teams and wins in sporting carnivals. For this reason, the “dumb jock” stereotype is strongly associated with the house.
Michaelians live in Vine Hall, which is the oldest dorm on campus. The building used to be split into four to house the three student houses and the staff, but as the school has grown, so has the need for extra lodging. (You can bet lots of stupid Angelwood vines have been filmed here as a puntastic joke.)
Gabriel House
Named for St Gabriel the Archangel.
Members of this house are nicknamed “The Messengers” during sporting events, but are more commonly known as “Gabes”.
Traditionally, the house is known for its artistic ability: many prominent artists who have graduated from Angelwood have been Gabes. They are also seen to excel in arts/humanities subjects; stereotypically, Gabes are seen to make up the majority of the choir (which was traditionally seen as a geeky past-time, but has become more respected in recent years).
Gabes live in Alder Hall, which is the second oldest dorm on campus.
Raphael House
Named for St Raphael the Archangel.
Known commonly as “Raphaelites”, the house is also known as “The Healers” during sporting carnivals.
Traditionally, the house is associated with academic success, with an emphasis on science. There is a geek/nerd stereotype associated with the house--the nickname “Healers” not only refers to the archangel, but to the fact Raphaelites were often seen to be helping out with first-aid or trying to cool house rivalry more so than actually competing in events.
Raphaelites live in Ivy Hall, which is the newest dorm on campus (probably only half the age of Vine Hall).

Enrollment for Angelwood has closed! (With the exception of special requests, of course.) An orientation guide on the house system and house arrangements will be posted soon. As soon as the lists are finalised, both the class and house lists will be posted.
The school has two reminders for the incoming students:
Apart from freshmen, Angelwood students are free to choose their roommates. So if you have a friend who is in the same year as you and your house---don’t be afraid to ask to room with them!
House Leaders must be elected by ballot from the seniors in each house, to serve as a guide to the incoming students.

This is just a reminder to get your class lists in before Monday, 9th November, at noon UTC/GMT. (That’s 7:00am EST, 11:00pm AEDT and 8:00pm PHT). Of course, late lists will be accepted, but making sure your lists are in by that date allows time for plotting and for the prompt to actually start. Thanks guys!

Angelwood Enrolment List
Under the cut is the current student list at Angelwood, sorted by surname and grade. If a character is on the list, it means that they have been “enrolled”, and their classes have been recorded. If you’ve sent in the subjects for a character who isn’t here, please let me know! There are still a few people who haven’t submitted anything--so I’ll keep it open for another week before posting the class list.

Angelwood: Subject Lists & Selections
Under the cut because there is honestly too much to it. After you’ve chosen what year/how old your character is at school, use the guidelines of student loads and restrictions to pick your electives and other subjects to fill out your class lists! Once you’ve got them, send them to us so we can compile a list and form little para groups :)
Student Loads and Restrictions
First Year
Freshmen have a subject load of seven.
General English, General Mathematics, General Science I and Health & Physical Education I are compulsory core subjects.
For electives, freshmen may choose one language for the year, and one art and humanities subject for each semester (two for the year). NOTE: World Religions is a sub-classification under humanities.
Second Year
Sophomores have a subject load of seven.
English (General English II, Literature I, English Language I), Mathematics (Algebra & Geometry, Statistics I), General Science II and Health & Physical Education II are compulsory core subjects.
Students decide which English track (General English, Literature or English Language) and Mathematics Track (Mathematical Methods--Algebra and Calculus, or Applied Mathematics--Statistics) they will be taking for the next three years.
For electives, sophomores will continue the language from the year previously, and one art and humanities subject for each semester (two for the year). NOTE: World Religions is a sub-classification under humanities.
Third Year
Juniors have a subject load of six.
English (General English III, Literature II, English Language II), Mathematics (Trigonometry & Pre-Calculus, Statistics II) and Health are compulsory core subjects. Physical Education is now separated from Health, and is considered an elective.
Students may choose three year-long electives from the remaining subjects. (There is generally a maximum of two subjects from a particular field.)
Fourth Year
Seniors have a subject load of five.
English (General English IV, Literature III, English Language III) and Mathematics (Calculus, Statistics III) are compulsory subjects.
Students may choose three year-long electives from the remaining subjects. (There is generally a maximum of two subjects from a particular field.)

Prompt 3: Boarding School
The Angelwood School is a co-educational boarding school that caters to students in grades nine to twelve. It was founded in 1915 in Lake County, California, by Christian and Deanna Angelwood. Their vision was to educate those who were willing to pay for private education, but could not afford the inflated rates of other boarding schools. This is a vision that Angelwood continues to operate by to this day.
Despite the moderate fees, Angelwood students perform extremely well academically as well as in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, public speaking, band and choir. The school has also ranked in the top five schools for student satisfaction for the last ten years. The Angelwood students form a small community with each other, as well as the staff, some of whom also reside on campus.
We hope you may find your wings at Angelwood!
Your character now attends Angelwood as a boarder. Whether they’ve been there since they started high school or they’ve just transferred, what year they’re in and how old they are, and what they hope to get out of this experience--it’s up to you!
Threads for this prompt, considering it’s set in the present day with teenagers, can range from anything from texts, Skype messages, face-to-face contact, to Snapchats. A class list will be posted up shortly, with instructions for allocating your new students into classes. Once you’ve allocated your students into classes, be sure to send them in here so we can compile a list, allowing for students to interact and participate in class. A clubs list should be posted in the next few days, so your characters can also participate in extracurricular activities!
If your character is really not gonna fit in as a student, don’t stress! Schools need more than students to keep running. They need teachers, principals, cafeteria ladies, groundsmen, janitors and all sorts of other people to allow things to run like clockwork. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
One thing that the group really needs to come up with is house names. Students will be dorming by house and then by gender. I have no idea what to call the houses, so shoot out some suggestions and perhaps we’ll be able to create a poll of some sort to get them up and running.
I’m honestly not entirely sure what’s going to happen with this prompt, but hopefully it’s exciting enough to check out and explore. Because it’s so complicated, I’ll be tagging all related posts as “awrpg; angelwood”, so remember to track it!. Good luck everyone!

Prompt Two: Personal Growth
Character development is important because it tells others who they really are. What shapes them? Why are they the way they are? In this group, the real question is--how have their relationships with others affected them? How will they react to new people entering their lives, and what will they mean to your character?
There is no set theme for the rest of the prompt, meaning that it’s up to individual partners to figure out where the paras/threads are set and how people in different states and countries are meeting others. If you want to figure out links to other characters, remember that’s what your mun blog is for! Even though all I use it for is to FC spam, oops.
Although the recommended verse is a very normal, very human verse with face-to-face conversation, don’t be afraid to plot with your partners (on your blog or through other means) to find a solution that works best for you. This can be done in YouTube!AU verse just as well as any other. The most important thing is to allow the group to understand--at least at some level--how your characters tick.
Good luck!

Prompt One: YouTube
YouTube is a very large community--full of BookTubers, beauty bloggers, gamers, musicians, foodies, viral stars, fans with theories to share, and devoted subscribers and viewers. It is up to you as to where each of your characters fit into this vast community, and come into contact with each other. Are they rival BookTubers with conflicting opinions on a book? Two massive fans who met at VidCon? Or YouTubers who are finally doing a collaboration after getting each other involved in silly tags? It’s all up to you!
If you’re one of those people who can’t keep up with more than one or two paras at the same time, that’s perfectly fine--as YouTube is an online community, don’t be afraid to post open Twitter conversations and forum/comments posts to allow your characters to interact with others in a more casual way. Utilise all the social media! It’s all about interacting with everyone and developing your skills than stressing you out.
Good luck and have fun!

group tagging system
Hi everyone!
I’ve noticed that groups work better when they’re organised--and being organised on tumblr essentially means a good use of tags. So I’ve come up with some standard tags (that aren’t being used by other people!) in order to tag our posts and that we’ll all be able to track in order to keep on top of posts and being aware of open starters and important announcements.
please track/use the following tags:
#awrpg the tag used for announcements, prompts and starters. no reblogged posts need to be tagged with this; it’s more an alert/notification system for the members of the group.
#awrpg; announcement the specific tag used for announcements made from the group page.
#awrpg; starter used for starters (open or closed, para or convo or social media format).
#awrpg; prompt used for prompts when they’re first published on the main group page; can be used in reblogs in order to organise them on your own mun blog.
#awverse; {insert verse here} used to tag posts regarding different aus/propts so everything is found in the one place and can be revisted in later weeks when rpers go back to explore certain verses again. (this tag doesn’t need to be tracked.)
please remember to:
tag your rp partners’ urls in your starters in order for posts to show up in their personal tags (and for organisational purposes).
all ooc posts can and should be made on your mun blog to minimise clutter and to keep it in the one place, so there’s no need for an ooc tag system on your character blogs.
tags for other specific tags needed to organising charater/mun blogs can obviously personalised to your own tastes.
I’ve tried to keep it simple, but different enough in order to keep everything organised. If anyone has any questions, just message me. The first prompt should be up within 24 hours (eeeeeee!) so keep a lookout!
--Tash xoxo
