Do you post most asks you get? I recall sending an “ask” about a tip on drawing faces that I think is like the most important thing when drawing human faces, but I don’t know if it went through. If you guys don’t post anonymous tips/advice I understand :)

Oh yeah I get all the asks and maybe one day I’ll sit down and draw again but I have school, a job, and other responsibilities. One day I’ll explain my style via drawings lol

Any shading tips? Whenever I draw it looks kinda decent but as soon as I shade it turns into a sloppy mess. By the way, I use FireAlpaca so I don't have advanced tools that Paint Tool SAI offers because I'm cheap. thanks for reading and I hope you'll be able to help me! :D

Try and use your blending tool as LITTLE as possible. Blending with your brush or using an airbrush tool especially for things like blush or to blend out harsher lines for the harshest lines. Avoid shading with black, seriously. I’m not too swift with fire alpaca sadly but that is, all I know :,).

I also recommend shading too darkly and then using your opacity setting to adjust to your liking!

I want to write a character with a sad backstory but how to I write it without making my character eDgY?

Don’t have it be trauma porn. I’d say research more on how trauma, and violence affects the psyche of a person. Also try and make ur sad backstory realistic, and not have ur character screech about their sad backstory at all times. Subtly makes a good character. Someone with a sad backstory doesn’t usually weep and moan about it
