contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they don’t feel that internal sense of ‘i am a woman’ or ‘i am a man’, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someone’s like ‘idk dude I just work here’ then that’s valid
#labels are complicated and optional and i only use them for aesthetic purposes#i'm not really anything and i don't have a huge internal sense of gender#but in a transgender way.#i'm just a girl but i'm not a woman#and i'm literally just a little guy but i'm not really man aligned#and i'm not really anything#but there's definitely something there#and i don't like using nonbinary anymore mostly bc of the common perception of it being a third option instead of a greater spectrum#and it feels like a shift to a ternary system in place of a binary#and i'm not the third option. i'm a secret 77th option that you can only unlock through a complicated side quest#i'm three off brand genders from a kmart that melted together#i'm everything and nothing. i'm whatever's most confusing. i live in a state of constant gender and constant non-gender#i am a living contradiction and it's beautiful#i am the infinite expanse of space- unable to be confined neatly. ever expanding and changing.#i'm complicated and it's great#but that's not an option on dropdown menus so we go for genderqueer bc there's a gender and it's queer#and that's easier to explain to people.
