Here’s some cool art by Ippei Gyoubu, a very cool mechanical designer for Gundam, among other things.

I am now going to talk about it. (There will be spoilers for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans)

Gaelio did everything he possibly could to save Ein, going beyond human biology. Eventually, Ein is left as part of Gundam Vidar. He is there, but not human anymore, as represented by being in shadow.

After this is done, Gaelio swears to take revenge on those who left Ein this way, even adopting the name Vidar (Norse god of vengeance, according to minimal internet searching). (Also interesting to note that Vidar is named after a god while all other Gundam frames are named after demons)

It is also stated in the show that he spends ALL of his free time maintaining and tuning his mobile suit. Clearly he truly cares about this thing that everyone else only knows to be a soulless machine.

When Gaelio fights, he states that he and Ein are perfectly in sync. Sharing the same name, they ARE one being.

But Ein is not human anymore. He never truly will be again. Gaelio can not be with him, thus the physical separation in the artwork and Ein being in shadow. The only way they can be connected is through this Gundam.

I see a lot of ‘cis’ women say they wish they were androgynous in the way men were or they wish they were pretty in the way men were. This is your sign to go try to do that. You may find you enjoy being an androgynous woman. You may find you no longer identify as a woman. You may find you don’t like androgyny. You will not know until you try. Cut your hair if you’ve always wanted to but have been afraid to. Shop in the men’s section if you’ve been too nervous to. Wear clothing with an androgynous  silhouette. Experiment with binding, take baby steps with compression bras if you want. Wear unisex scents. Live life. Try things you want to try. A lot of cis women do not understand the joys of mens pants and mens deodorant. I think everyone should try both of those things.

first you have to remember that the first disco ball was painstakingly put together by hand from nothing but an idea and lots of intricately cut glass and bandaids and then you have to think about the experience of being under a disco ball for the very first time, bathed in reflections of an era that has not yet come to past, and finally you end up wondering what else there is around you that has yet to be unearthed by something with so much as a silly name
