Shelly says I'm artsy fartsy, so I'd like to believe that it's true. This is my blog. I post things that inspire me and things that make me laugh. My blog fluctuates from artsy photos to blurbs to weird gifs of sloths (cus they humor me). I'm 18 years old, from Canada and I'm studying Environmental Design. You can call me Jessica. It's nice to meet you too :) My projects so far.

oh my god LOOOL my exact thoughts. fuminggg.
honestly, nothing angers me more than a tv drama ending with the most cliché of all clichés. oh god, this hong kong drama, Storm in a Cocoon had this great elaborate plot with twists and fantastic characters that got me really interested and in the last two episodes, the writing got me fuming. they could’ve ended the drama so much better but the writing was just lazy and sloppy that i was rolling on the floor in despair. it was that bad, oh god the last episode went like this:

Thoughts on TVB's Storm in a Cocoon Finale
UGHH spoil alert
I was really rooting on this series and watching it avidly. However, things started to stretch out and get more ridiculous by each episode after they discovered who killed the second sister.
I loved the chemistry between Steven and Tavia, but wow... the finale is so bullshit. I'm so disappointed by TVB's lack of creativity.
They've basically pulled all the cliches the could find out of their pockets and stuffed it into the end of this series.
There were so many unnecessary deaths - Chor Gow, Wan Je (Maggie Siu) throughout the last half of this series. And of course, we all knew the Sam Siu's dad was going to die. But that's not what I'm most upset about (Yueh Hua always plays these types of roles) cause we knew it'd happen.
In the ending... Bing Bing was upset at her husband for hiding the truth about her biological father, but helloooo you said you wouldn't even accept him as your dad, even if you guys were blood related. Then you're all like "Please don't tell us we're related. I don't want this kind of person to be my father"... and then this reaction towards her husband. "I think I can't be with someone who has betrayed me like this, I have to go on a leave and think about it" It's so illogical! So many characters in here were illogical and stupid.
Especially the village people. "神是你和鬼也是你" - I don't think I need to elaborate on this.
BUT THE ENDING.
all of a sudden they pulled a "titanic" with a flood and the Rose & Jack thing in the middle of the ocean, and there's not enough room on the board... etc. and the guy dies. Ok. Steven gets hit by a log TWICE. He survives the first time and the second time the directors are like "ok lets be for real and kill him off"
then four years passed in the series and the script writers couldn't make up their minds. We knew Steven's character wasn't going to die.
So he appears and Bing Bing and their son (like where did he come from) chase after him, calling his name but his character acts like he's deaf and just keeps walking - not once turning around to see who's making all that noise.
And guess what. We find out HE LOST HIS MEMORY AND DOESN'T RECOGNIZE BING BING. OR his name, that's why he didn't respond.
I just screamed when that happened. I knew it. I knew TVB would pull this crap and ruin a good series.
And then Steven remembers her after Bing Bing and her son sings that song about the water flooding the streets.
Are u serious.

Don't get me wrong, the actors are fantastically talented... but I think I've lost hope in TVB. I'm so angered by the ending. Honestly.
My dad was like: A series shouldn't have more than 20 episodes. The more episodes, the more the director just does random stuff to the story line.
I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Started this the other day, even though it's not the beginning of the month.
Today I did Day 2: man I can't even feel my body right now as I'm sitting here typing. I hate ab workouts and it was such a struggle to go through those videos. Someday when I go back to do that video again, I hope I'd be fit enough to breeze through it like a pro. Wooohoo.

Laser cut lamp for my Environmental Design 2 class. Done before reading week.
There were lots of mishaps and lessons learned from this lamp. Preparation may be everything, but what you perceive might work out on AutoCAD might not actually work in real life.
I chose styrene for the shade, but I didn't realize how opaque it'd be and how it'd be more rigid after cutting into a smaller piece (haha stress makes me lack common sense). Thus the radius of the lamp had to be adjusted to accommodate the forces of the arcs. Otherwise, the skeleton is mainly clear acrylic.
A nightmare in the making, but there's still beauty among its imperfections...
