I've had some personal stuff going on these past two weeks that has shall we say stifled my muse a bit. I don't know how long it is going to last or when the next update for any of my hotd fics will be.

I don't think I'm going to get anything written this weekend. Real life has been quite busy and I just don't have the time and energy to spare right now.

That being said, my brain suddenly wants to write something about Rhaenyra marching into the Small Council chamber with that moon tea from season one and making a big show out of being mortally offended (to the point of demanding to know who said she needed it so she can feed that person to Syrax) about being offered the moon tea and also making a big show out of smashing the cup and not taking it.

So I want to write two HotD fic things this weekend. One will be the second chapter of Laertes, but I'm having trouble picking between the options for the other one:

The vague urge to write a fic where Vermithor burns all the dragonseeds (except Ulf to heighten the irony of Ulf being fake) but afterwards is perfectly happy to follow Syrax into battle because Rhaenyra brought him such tasty treats. And maybe Ulf claims Silverwing for a bit but Daemon kills him as soon as they win the war.

Or (not mutually exclusive) we get to see more of Daenys the OC's unnatural influence over the weather again and Aemond isn't able to make his 'strategic retreat.'

Which would end in (graphic and potentially spoilery for future fic):

One of Clouddancer and Shadowdancer plucking Aemond from Vhagar's shoulder (alive and squirming because the man doesn't wear his seatbelts), Daenys telling Clouddancer and Shadowdancer not to damage the head, Clouddancer and Shadowdancer ripping Aemond limb from limb (because he's had enough relatively clean off-screen deaths from infection or poison recently), and Daenys talking to the head they leave for a hot minute (and kissing it a-la Salomé, I think) before merrily strolling into the room of the painted table and plopping the head down in from of Rhaenyra.

A much as Aemond doesn't have a great track record for surviving in my fics (he's just so kill-able), a thought:

Daemon's boon of sorts that he gets from Viserys after the Stepstones War has so much potential. I kind of want to write something with Aemond as Daemon Jr (after a fashion), and I think the best way to accomplish that would be to have Daemon ask for Aemond as his page/squire.

I would think probably the best time for Daemon to ask would be right after the Driftmark incident, but that would also be when Alicent would fight the hardest against it (I think) and ~11 is very young for a squire, though certainly plenty old enough to be a page.

It would be very interesting having Aemond under one roof with Rhaena, Luke etc though. So maybe it would work better if Daemon asks right before he marries Laena - Aemond would be very young, but just about old enough to become a page. It would be kind of awkward for them to be flying around the Free Cities with a ~6 year old Aemond in tow though, and I don't think Daemon could get away with dumping him on Driftmark or Dragonstone.
