ā€œThe Good and the Bad: How Social Media Affected Me as a Gen Z Individualā€
Currently, as we all know, social media has advanced to the point where you can find anyone, learn about anything, and gain knowledge about anything. It's important to keep us informed about what's going on in the world. However, despite all of the benefits of social media, there are a lot of bad things and criminal behavior that can occur. There are numerous disadvantages of using social media, but I will highlight a few of them, such as addiction. While social media can be a good place for business nowadays , it can also be a scam or a fraud. Lastly, social media can ruin someone's reputation by spreading rumors all over the internet.Social media is an incredible method for relaxing and seeing whatever is going on around the world. Web-based media is overshadowed by such countless difficulties, since it is unregulated. The main wrongdoing that rings a bell when we talk about online media is cyberbullying. Social media has two effects. On the positive side, social networks may be invaluable tools for professionals. They accomplish this by supporting young professionals in marketing their abilities and seeking commercial possibilities. Social networking platforms can also be utilized to network effectively. On the negative side, the internet carries a number of risks linked with online communities. One of the concerns is cyberbullying, which is a sort of harassment that is conducted through the use of modern technology.
Social media is a tool that offers various uses to many people across the globe. We can't deny the positive impact of social media on the social life of people. To put it in a nutshell, social media should be used responsibly and in the right way because we might encounter some problems if we are not mindful enough. For me, social media has had a significant impact on this generation, and it is now being used as a tool for disseminating false information and poisoning the minds of users without their knowledge. It's unfortunate that many individuals, particularly Generation Z, are becoming increasingly scared, unhappy, and hesitant to take chances. And also there are these key issues that most of us may already be facing and these are the risk, abuse, and misuse. This occurs when a person does not control his or her online activities and is not responsible enough to accept the consequences. And one of the primary causes of the aforementioned difficulties might be ignorance. So, in order to be aware enough to determine what is true and what is misleading information, we should know how to use social media and the social media platforms. Finally, we must be more attentive in order to protect ourselves from the dangers that social media might bring.

ā€œDigital Divide in the New Normalā€
The digital gap has established a new division in society that has had a
significant impact on people's everyday lives and livelihoods all across the world. The
phrase "digital divide" or "digital split" refers to the disparity between populations and
areas with access to contemporary information and communications technologies and those who have not or have limited access. Regardless, this gap will have a far greater
impact in the next few years. Why is this significant? With the passage of time, the
Internet has grown significant within individuals. The digital divide can be bridged by
getting solid support of the country regions, and that done by empowering competitions.
The Internet is currently a utility. Like different utilities, including power and phones,
capital business sectors will soak at 85% infiltration. People in technology-deficient
countries are left behind because they lack access to technology. People, on the other
hand, require access to technology in order to close the digital gap. As a result, we must
bridge the gap because bridging the digital divide is critical if we are to achieve
universal prosperity. We need the government to take actions regarding this issue
because there are still remote locations here in the Philippines that need access and
literacy towards the internet and other digital related aspects.
Digital Divide has an impact on us as an individual since we are in a new
generation or culture where we must communicate via technology such as cellphones,
television, computers, and the internet. As an individual, the digital divide has
implications in a variety of areas, one of which is education. It affects education
because the large digital divide in education is a significant impediment to the growth of
disadvantaged communities. People living in impoverished locations are incapable of
creating new technology or performing research targeted at raising population living
conditions. The digital divide not only has an influence on the future of young brains, but
it also diminishes the likelihood of a successful career. As a result, students from all
origins, geographies, and communities miss out on the opportunity to create new
solutions and become responsible citizens. According to the DDC, the digital divide has
an economic impact since telecommunications and internet access enable a range of
economy-boosting activities such as online purchasing. It also has an impact on
education, since advanced scientific research and academic performance have been
connected to access to information and communication technology (ICT). It also has an
impact on social spheres, since internet access encourages family and friend contact
and interaction. Many pre-existing socio economic problems contribute to the digital
gap, including generational poverty, restricted bandwidth, and infrastructure, as well as
a school's annual budget. In addition to the COVID-19 epidemic affecting every
community, these sociocultural conditions have worsened restricted access to resources
and tools that would allow each kid to learn from home using technology and
dependable internet. With the rush to eliminate schools and the requirement for pupils
to learn remotely, children increasingly require dependable internet connectivity and
technology such as laptops or tablets. However, many students still lack these
fundamental resources owing to no fault of their own. When you add in the fact that children have little or no access to technology for home study, they face even more
difficulties.

ā€œUnderstanding the Relevance of Information and News Literacy in the Midst of Social Eraā€
Information Literacy and News Literacy are a big help to avoid being the victim of fake, misleading, fabricated, and manipulated information. It will assist us in sharpening our critical thinking abilities in order to analyze information's dependability and credibility. Also, by using the media, we can communicate effectively with others. In the social age, people are obsessed with using all the social media platforms. It is up to them to communicate, distribute and receive information and share their feedback. If people did not know these two literacies, it would harm the community, he writes.
Being information literate is a massive position these days due to the fact it's far a bonus for us to keep away from fake records. There are plenty of apps that can be made for us on the way to assist us, which include Facebook, Twitter, and lots more. And as educated people, we must recognize the importance of information and communication literacy for us to live a life of wisdom and responsibility. In this generation, the unfold of data could be very speedy because of connectivity with things, humans, and ideas. Information literacy is a critical device to discover ways to affirm and examine each statistic received for higher understanding.

ā€œMedia and Government: A Love-Hate Relationshipā€
In today's society, media use plays an important role in daily activities. Media are our gateways to the rest of the world and are a powerful agent of change. What we see on television greatly affects our beliefs and this, in turn, affects our behavior and appearance as a person. If the media is not used properly, it has a significant impact on people. Politicians often use the media as a platform for their campaigns. It is undeniable that the media is a business that constantly includes and considers the public. It prioritizes the public's welfare, and it is from this base that it pulls its pleased audience and beneficiaries, generating just a small profit that allows it to continue and sustain operations. This discusses how the media has an impact on government and society, and how it performs duties that are often assigned to government entities. The media has become an important part of individual voters and also the government. The primary responsibility of the media is to inform us and alert us when major events occur. This data has the potential to shape our thoughts and actions. There are so many thoughts about what the photo illustrates. It can affect society if both of them betray one another, or if the media is against the government in the sense that they will look at it another way at something especially about the government and broadcast it to us, as a result of which some people are buying that kind of news and leading the people to protest. In reality, this is happening in our country, with some broadcasting stations broadcasting news that some people believe and others despise. If this type of media continues, I see that the future will be even worse, with people arguing or in the worst-case scenario, almost all citizens being opposed to government.
Our excessive dependence on everything we find online makes us vulnerable to these types of scams, and this ignorance gives governments the opportunity to manipulate public perception. In doing so, we should not trust what the media says about the government because we all don't know what the truth is and this could lead to misinformation. Individuals guarantee that some news reports are politicized, while the public authority asserts that this isn't the situation. In any case, some of the time, the data shared by the media is fragmented or bogus. In the relationship between the two, if the data from the media is compromised, it influences the public authorities, and some of the time it's the alternate way around. The media and the public authority can beguile individuals and adjust their perspectives on recent developments in our globe. However, the two sides will generally struggle on occasion. The love-hate relationship of the government and the media suggests that lawmakers blame the media for not filtering and covering up their image before the public, while the media criticizes lawmakers for their negative and doubtful actions. Isn't it odd that when things are going great, they don't care about each other, but when things go wrong, they both come through for each other? That is how the media and government interact in the Philippines.
