list of every rotary phone model featured in DSaF I could find

have YOU ever wanted to know what real life rotary phone model is used for all of the dsaf phone guys??? no?? this knowledge is completely useless??? yeah. yeah it is. but i'm bored and collect vintage phones so i decided to spend 2 hours researching it lol. long post warning

starting with an easy one

peter is a model 500 from the western electric company. this is probably the most recognizable rotary phone model, it was the main one WE produced after 1950

jake is a little bit tricky. purple just wasn't really a color phones were available in. at first i thought it was another 500, but taking a closer look at the cradle, you can see it's something else. the shape is closest to a GPO 746 (british phone model from the 70s) but that phone was not produced in solid purple. he could be a reproduction, or just a 746 someone painted purple. i've found phones very similar to him on google, but all of the links (even w reverse image search) are random links w no phone information :/ i've added a GPO 746 for comparison. he's probably just a reproduction sadly

the guy you can send to the phone factory in dsaf 3 is a two toned green GPO 746

Roger is a 1980 Siemens FeTAp 791-1! he was probably the easiest one to find that i didn't already know. shoutout to this reddit post from 5 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/DSaF/comments/gqgj8e/so_i_found_out_what_model_of_phone_rodger_orange/

Harry is a western electric 302 <3 this was the main phone model produced by WE from the late 30s to the early 50s

steven is another 302

abel is either a western electric 20AL or 40AL. they're identical, just made from different materials. the 20AL was first released in 1915. i also included a neat looking poster i found while searching that shows the insides of the phone :D

joe was really hard to find but I GOT HIM!! he's a 1952 bell telephone MFG AP 41750 from belgium. there was almost no information abt this phone online, i almost gave up before finding exactly 1 esty link with his model name and information. ily esty & ebay rotary phone resellers

everett is, unfortunately, 100% a reproduction phone sold on amazon. like, you can tell in the original pic that his "rotary dial" isn't even a dial, it's just plastic push buttons usually found on reproductions. his full amazon given government name is Design Toscano Antique Eiffel Tower 1892 Rotary Corded Retro Phone-Vintage Decorative Telephones Bronze </3. however it is based on the 1892 Ericsson Eiffel Tower phone

terrence was another hard to find one. photos of his phone online really only appear as stock images with almost no information. the only thing i could find with any info says it is from the USSR in 1987, but didn't specify a model

scott cawthon's phone is sadly a 3D model. it doesn't have any *exact* real life counterparts, but the western electric 298AP is pretty close. actually, there's a LOT of wooden wall phone models that look similar (but not exact) to him. pictured below: the 298AP, Connecticut Telephone Oak Wall Intercom System, and 1912 Western Electric Inter Phone
