Can we stop with the “that’s it, I’m not texting them until they text me first” mentality?
There could be any number of reasons someone doesn’t text first, including their own possible insecurity.
It’s valid if it upsets you, but please have a direct conversation with them about it instead of “getting even”.
You could say something like “When I’m always the one to text first, I begin to feel insecure. Could you make a point of texting me first sometimes?”
If they can’t, or still don’t, then it’s up to you how to proceed. Maybe the relationship isn’t for you, and that’s so valid. Sometimes people aren’t compatible for whatever reasons. But communicating and/or ending the relationship is so much better than the “teach a lesson” mentality.
