First post is (obviously) going to be dedicated to my man Raditz because not only was he a huge missed opportunity but he's also sometimes dismissed as just a guy who was weaker than a Saibaman and to that I say shut up :) he's amazing and you're stupid if you think otherwise (/hj)

Anyways let's get into the things I love about Raditz and why everyone should love him 🤧💖 (also this is a long post but please read it all, I'll highly appreciate it🙏)

Raditz is one of those characters I never really cared much about until much later after finishing DBZ and tbh that's understandable, many people might've probably forgotten about him entirely by this point since he was only mentioned once or twice after his death and only appeared for the first few episodes of Z. Goku's family is rarely ever mentioned and as huge of a shame that is, I can see why since they don't play a big role in the plot but this doesn't mean that they don't deserve more screentime. I think Bardock was done justice with that special (it could've been a bit longer tho) but Raditz hasn't gotten one and it's such a shame because he's the damn older brother of the main character!

Goku and Raditz never shared a brotherly bond because well...They don't know each other like- at all. Not only because Goku forgot about him (and everything from his home planet) but when he found out he had a brother, he did quite a strong (and horrible) first impression. Why would you love your older brother if they straight up just take your son, tell you to commit genocide and leave without any real explanation? They also spent their only time together fighting each other and Raditz never showed any signs of mercy either, he would've happily taken his own brothers life and continued to kill many more as a prideful Saiyan that he is. He's a bastard and even pretended to feel guilty about all he's done just to have Goku's guard down to attack back. He doesn't give a fuck and yet, this doesn't mean he can't change.

Raditz, in my opinion, had even better chances of becoming good and saving other's than Vegeta ever did, and it's all because unlike Vegeta, he has someone that can lead him to a better place from the beginning, Goku. They're brothers and the only one's left from their family, they got no other relatives to go and talk with so they're the only one's that can support each other as family which means Raditz could easily start learning from his believes and morals and he could change for the better- Sure, it will definitely take time going from a prideful warrior to a normal dude who helps out other's and such but it's definitely possible! I'm pretty sure that even just a bit of support and love is enough to make him have even the slightest bit if change, he is shown to get attached to your character in Xenoverse 2 and even this conversation happens after you reach a certain amount of friendship level with him:

Why did you choose to serve me? -With your talents, you could probably find a higher position. -...Uh, I mean not that I care, especially not about you! -A-as a warrior I'm merely curious! It's not as if I think you're better than me! -You have power. Incredible power. But more than that, you're my trusty minion! -You're the only true companion I have! I don't want to lose that... -Wh-what dribble just came out of my mouth?! Forget that! All of it! Is that clear?!)

Here we get to learn two things about Raditz, 1) He's a tsundere. That's just a fact. And 2) He's afraid of losing you- his only real companion, he's scared of being betrayed as well and this is clear with his reactions to when you wear Goku's clothes where he ask in both an angry and also shooked tone "Are you planning on betraying me?!" (I don't have a screenshot of it so you can just try wearing his clothes on your own to see his reaction). While it's debatable if this should be consider canon of not, this still makes sense and isn't out of character either, he's always been a mid tier warrior but to Prince Vegeta's view, he's just a low class. He didn't even cared about his death at all, and this definitely is the reason why Raditz is so aggresive, he wants to improve and be able to be looked highly of instead of looked down upon. All he knows is violence but honestly that's just because of the environment he was raised in was like that, full of fights and showing weakness or mercy was not something the Saiyans do. But like I've mentioned, he. Can. Change.

He definitely can and those pictures are a proof of that! He's changed enough in Xenoverse 2 that he can admit his fear of losing someone dear to him even though he immediately takes it back (cuz he's a tsundere!!😤) He still cares about you, and if he can care about someone like that then of course, he can love his brother! He can become good if he has the right people in his life and that's something I love about his character, he has so many ways to become good and he's a great fighter as well! Raditz was able to knock down Krillin with just hitting him with his tail, with his tail! And Goku didn't stood a chance against him either, he needed help from Piccolo to be able to defeat him and even then it was a very close battle. With proper training I'm sure he could be the strongest Saiyan out there, even surpassing Vegeta. If Goku had shown mercy to Raditz he would still continue killing so yeahh it's better for him to die there BUT I'm sure that when Goku was in hell by accident, he could've talked to him and maybe, just maybe, change his mind and bring him back to life to be able to turn him truly a good person.

Raditz is one of my favorite characters because he just has so much potential that it's impossible to not think of many what-if scenarios and if he'd stayed longer he could've become one of the best characters from DBZ, to be honest I'm only making this blog because I want more people to see the potential he has, just imagine how great it would be to have him and Goku fighting together against strong enemies like Freeza? Sure Vegeta would probably still replace him (like he did with Piccolo and litterally everyone else😭) but it'll still be so amazing to see his development. He could also work with Vegeta in trying to change for the better but I'd feel Vegeta would be a bitch about it either way sknfksn

Anyways in conclusion, Raditz is great and I think everyone should definitely go and search fanfics, fanart or whatever else about him because a lot of people come up with so many cool au's with him and it's a lot of fun to see all of the possibilities! Or even better, why not make some yourself?
