Guild Wars 2 Friendships

My Enchantress (aka wife) and I started playing #GuildWars2 together since October 19th 2012. We probably spent hours together just creating our first toons, asking each others opinions on hairstyles, colors, wardrobe, facial features, Gods, and names. Though we didn't need a second opinion on what class we wanted. She already knew she was "dead" set on a Necro, and I was "burning" for the Elementalist, nothing was going to change that.

Though we didn't always have our free time at the same time, so we would create alternative characters. They just didn't stay solo alternatives for very long. Though my Ele and her Necro will always be our main toons, there is so many different types of fun each class and race has to offer, over time we have made at least one of each that are all max leveled. Though if we don't have free time together and one of us gets achievments, no matter how hard it was to get, we basically do it a second time helping the other get the achievement, event, mastery point, or item as well.

Though we have been off and on again through out the years, it seems the Holiday events especially Halloween, always brings us back since that's when we started. Though I must say, my Enchantress has dominated the Winter's Day Jumping Puzzle. She has done it hundreds of times, if not actually into the thousands on so many different characters.

We may not be anywhere near the top players of GW2 in any way, but we do everything we can for each other to make the other happy with their toon and game time. Whether it's buying an accessory from Black Lion with in game gold the other may not have, to spending hard earned real money buying every mount skin so they can get their character and mounts looking exactly the way they're picturing it. Even spent the time earning 600 gold together, just to get the Catmander tag. (Which is a ridiculous, obnoxious, unrealistic pain to actually get to the merchant by the way)

Over five years later of playing together, now all three of our boys are old enough to understand and play with us. So not only do we have a family activity we can all do together, once we can afford two more laptops, we will have a full party under one roof.

We even purchased two sets of all three novels a while back and read them together. Though my Enchantress' reading skills triple my own, she always held back so we could stick to the stories together. After reading the Ghosts of Ascalon, we had to go back and buy the original Guild Wars and all its expansions to play together :)

Guild Wars has oddly become an alternative lifestyle for our household.
