I made it. Finally 🎊 Graduation is fast approaching 🥳

Wow long time no post! It was an uphill battle for me finishing my 5th semester. I was in danger of failing and had to lock in. Fortunately, I made it! I am now in my last semester and prepping for the NCLEX. This class is all about making sure we are ready to take it. So far, I am on track and just need a little review.

I can’t wait to be done! It has been a tough journey and it’s not over yet.

At this point in nursing school, it gets very lonely. My cohort has grown apart from each other and I had to distance myself from constant negativity. I miss the days where we would meet up and study, or cram right before exams. When we all told each other we would make it.

I’ve been really struggling lately with my mental health. I passed my midterms and I’m doing well in school, but homesickness has been a killer. Now that the cold weather is coming in, I hope I’ll feel better soon. I’ve been thinking about running again. I used to work out every day up until I was 19, then never got back to it. I might have to pick up some good headphones tomorrow and find a trail I like.

This semester has been the hardest to stay motivated to do anything. I have had to drag myself to do any sort of studying this past week. Only a little longer then I’ll be done, just gotta get there. Midterms are next week, so wish me luck!

Still going strong! I have started my preceptorship and was placed in my top choice, MICU! I have learned a ton in just my first two days of being there and I am so excited to go back next weekend.

All of my class homework for this semester is done! I’m glad I was able to finish it all ahead of time so I have more energy to study. We haven’t gotten our preceptorship assignments yet, but are supposed to know by tomorrow. My top 3 choices are MICU, SICU, and L&D, so I hope I get one of those!!

Finally an update! I passed my OB/Peds rotation and am now in Advanced Med Surg!! Pediatrics absolutely wrecked me, and it was the most emotionally taxing rotations I have done. It’s a relief now to focus back on adult care.

Bless all of you pediatric nurses! You do a very difficult job, and I thank you!

This week is all about getting ahead on homework, cleaning the house, and preparing everything for our trip to New York. I can’t wait to be there. My excitement grows every day that goes by. Clinical was canceled yesterday, so I will have to make that up as well. The 4th of July is also coming up, but there’s no time for fun.

Back at school again and starting my Peds rotation. In exactly two weeks I will be in New York to attend an event with my fiancé. I’ve never been, so I am very excited! Time to study and work hard in this new rotation, though.

Midterms are over and I finally have a moment to breathe. I feel somewhat confident about them, but I don’t want to get too excited in case I did horribly. Once the grades get back, I will know.

Passed OB test out! Now it’s time to study and review for Midterms 😅 So much to remember. Gotta stay away from the video games.

It’s really frustrating being in the south, in the bible belt while in nursing school. How can so many LGBT-phobic people want to be in the healthcare field? Not to mention the ones that are just bullies in general.

The sun is shining and the birds are chirping but it is so hot!! I miss fall 😭 Test out for OB is Monday and there is lots to study. Mornings like this make me miss home up north. I’m overwhelmed but I will get through this 🙌🏻
