Visualization

“When you visualize, you materialize...”

So, here’s the program of visualization of my selected variables,that is, life expectancy and internetuserate.

This graph is unimodal, with its highest peak at the median category of 11.5 to 35.633 internet-userate. It seems to be skewed to the right as there are higher frequencies in lower categories than the higher categories.

This graph is unimodal, with its highest peak at the median category of 60-70 rate of life expectancy.

This graph is increasing at each interval. It clearly represents the association between life expectancy and internet userate. As internetuserate is increasing, life expectancy is also increasing. The highest peak is at interval 51.958 to 95.638 rate of internet users. Also at an interval of 70 to 80, life expectancy is at highest peak. The co-relation value of these two variables are 0.698501.

This is the scatter plot graph of these two variables. As internetuserate is increasing, life expectancy is also increasing. This is a positive scatter plot graph making an acute angle at X-Y axis. The constant increment and positivity clearly shows the association between internetuserate and lifeexpectancy.

My First Program

Here’s my first program in which i have displayed three of the variables, that is, life expectancy, incomeperperson and internetuserate. All the frequencies and percentage of the given variables are calculated in my program.

So, here’s the output of those three variables:

Gap_Minder

“There was a time when people felt the internet was another world, but now people realize it’s a tool that we use in this world.”

After looking through the codebook for the Gapminder, I have decided to work on these two variables. Life expectancy is about the average number of years a newborn child would live if current mortality patterns were to stay the same. The main source of this variable are Human Mortality Database,World Population Prospects, Publications and files by history prof. James C Riley, Human Lifetable Database.

Internetuserate is about the people with access to the worldwide network. The main source is World Bank.

Now here the question arises. Is internet userate associated with life expectancy?

The answer is Yes. People easily reach health information online. This reflects an imapct of high income level and urbanization level in the internet-developed countries.We can say that internet userate is highly associated with life expectancy. The correlation value of these two variables is 0.694041. According to a study conducted by the Institute for Longevity Sciences at Wonkwang University, developed countries with high Internet accessibility were found to have longer healthy life expectancies than developing countries with fewer Internet users. Ireland, with the longest life expectancy of 71.5 years, topped the ranking of Internet users with 70.34 out of 100 citizens. As internetuserate is increasing, the rate of life expectancy is also increasing. This is clearly shown in this scatter plot graph.

However, every internet users like personalization. All the health related issues are solved online which are effective. So these are some of the information which shows that internetuserate is highly associated with life expectancy.
