#depends on how easily I can get across the idea of Princess Peach#“it's a hat with a brim to keep the sun off”#“and it's pink and it has a crown embroidered on it which is. uh.”#“it alludes to a demoiselle in a popular chivalric-romance cycle.”#“the hero begins as a humble tradesman and he rescues the lady from a kind of beshelled dragon who held her captive. you might like it.”

Mughal Carved Emerald Necklace,
The necklace showcases five magnificent Colombian emeralds totalling approximately 1,150 carats, anchored by an extraordinary 470-carat centerpiece bearing the inscription of Ahmad Shah Durr-I Durran, founder of the Durrani Empire spanning Afghanistan and northwest India.
This historic provenance places the emerald among legendary companions — the Timur Ruby and the Koh-I-Noor diamond both bear identical inscriptions, a testament to their shared passage through the corridors of Mughal power from 1612 onwards.

Dr Frederick Cook on Denali at what is now known as "Fake Peak", 1906. While he claimed this was a picture of the summit, later photographic analysis showed this to be false. "Fake Peak" is, in fact, 19 miles away and 4,600 meters below the actual summit of Denali. The initial presentation of this photograph was one of Cook's trademark "complete lies."

22° Halos
A 22° halo, or a moon halo, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon that consists of a halo with an apparent radius of approximately 22° around the Sun or Moon. Around the Sun, it may also be called a sun halo. Around the Moon, it is also known as a moon ring, storm ring, or winter halo. It forms as sunlight or moonlight is refracted by millions of hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. Its radius, as viewed from Earth, is roughly the length of an outstretched hand at arm's length.

bruce springsteen opened a concert last night calling trump corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous. that’s right sweetie he’s not for YOU and neither is “born in the usa” and it never has been x
#still fondly remember the time i was in the car with my parents and i don't even remember why#but i made some comment about Born In The USA and it being. you know. about bad things happening to the narrator#and my dad looked up the lyrics on his phone and proceeded to read the *entire thing* out loud to my mom in tones of surprise#he said that like. all of those lines “sounded familiar individually”#he considered that he knew this song#but also he was genuinely surprised to discover what the song is about?#and it's not like this is a “the lyrics are veiled in symbolism impenetrable to those not in the know” kind of song. it's like#“I got sent to Vietnam and my best friend died and I came home and was unemployed and wound up in prison!”#“born in the U! S! A! i'm a cool rockin' daddy in the U! S! Aaaaaay!”#(guitar riff)
