A small figure in a green dress decorated with circles of gold stood beneath His statue. She was not facing him, seemingly regarding the statue.

Mairon felt annoyance and loathing rise hot within him, but he took a breath, and put a mask of calm upon his face, and stepped forward.

“Tar-Miriel,” he said calmly, but his voice rang cold. “What are you doing here?”

“Hello, Sauron,” she said equally calmly, and with dispassion, not turning to look at him.

Mairon swallowed a growl of anger at the use of that foul name, but it was what she always called him, he realized he should be used to it by now.
