     In response to the blue hedgehog, Shadow’s eyes aimed for the ground and shut themselves, an exasperated sigh parting his lips.

     No… he was not okay.

                Not only was he in trouble; the whole of Mobius was in trouble.

     But this stubborn, independent hedgehog was not about to tell him that. ❝Why is how I’m feeling of any importance to you?❞

“Because...Well, because...” Admittedly, he was a bit embarrassed to say. Sure, the other hedgehog tended to be brash, but Sonic still considered him an ally, “Because you’re my friend. And if my friends are in trouble, I’m there for them.”

The brunette hedgehog’s brows furrowed together in concern at his answer, she understood his reasoning but taking out a weapon and then exerting energy while you’re bleeding out is not advisable at all. “Even so you shouldn’t have taken it out without help, you could have made your wound worst”.

“You have no doctor where you’re from??” she questions with a raised brow a little puzzled as to how that could be but she decides not to comment on it. 

“You washed it out with the water from the river?. You shouldn’t have done that, you invite bad bacteria into your wound that way” the healer remarks before taking out a sterile bottle of water from her side bag and begins to gently clean his wound properly.

      His ears flattened, embarrassed about his brash decisions, “I...I live by myself. No neighbors or anything for miles.” The hedgehog looked away as fresh blood was washed away.

      “Hey! It’s 1 in the afternoon, stop screaming!”

"Sonic!!!!" Chip flew up to him fast, fast as he could.

      Needless to say, the hedgehog was amazed to see the imp. It had felt like a life time since the two had last seen each other, and of course Sonic welcomed the other with open arms and a wide grin.

      “Yo Chip, Long time no see!”

As the blue hedgehog finally submitted showing off his wounded ankle, the healer’s brows knitted together before she knees beside him to closely inspect the damage of it. She carefully graced her fingers over the injury as she studies how deeply punctured it truly was.

“A robot did this to you? and you pulled the spike out?. You know that is something you shouldn’t do unless you’re medically trained, you could have made it worst” the brunette comments before she begins to take out some medical supplies from her side bag. “What did you clean it with?”.

 “I couldn’t leave it in either." He hissed and winced at the other touched it, "It was making running away a whole lot harder. I came here and started washing it out with water. There's no doctor where I'm from, so this was the best I could do."

     ❝When do I ever have time to, “hang out”?❞ he would question, rather brashly at that.❝There are far more things that require my attention, especially right now. If you’re looking for someone to, “hang out” with, go run around with anybody else.❞

     Despite his harsh tone, there was an air of concern that lurked around him. Shadow seemed like he was in a hurry… like he needed all the time he could get.

 Sonic’s ears pinned back, lips curling into a frown, like he was a child being scolded at. He could almost sense the other’s urgency, but didn’t want to intrude. His tone shifted from his usual bubbly self, to downright concern.

 “Are...Are you alright, Shadow? Are you in trouble or something?”

The female raises a brow at the blue hedgehog with slight concern shining in her big brown eyes. “Are you alright? your looking a bit pale there. Are you hurt?” the hedgehog questions before she climbs upon the huge rock with her gaze fixed upon him.

“If you do have a injury, I can treat it for you. I am a doctor”.

 He gave her a wary look before submitting. The blue hedgehog showed his ankle were most of the damage was. It appeared something had punctured it, leaving a hole. How deep the wound was was uncertain. 

 “I got careless and a robot got me. I pulled the spike out, and cleaned it up.”

Surprisingly, Not too far away was the wanted target in question for his ‘crimes’, after successfully fooling and disposing of other pursuers, Dan had began to move away from city and town centers and instead was focusing on moving deeper into the wilderness.

As he walked along casually, seeing no need to rush himself considering no one would know where he was by now and carrying a burned coat over his shoulder, likely caused in his acts of ‘damaging public property’. His mind would ponder onto those that helped him, he’d need to try and return over there sometime to see them again, not to mention thank them for the umpteenth time.

He was obviously unaware of the speedster coming up along after him as he progressed further down the woodland paths, just enjoying the moment to relax and forget about his worries for the time being.

 Remaining alert, Sonic raced up to the stranger’s side, and screeched to a stop in front of him. “Glad I found you.” He said simply, crossing his arms in front of his chest. There was not an air of hostility in the hedgehog’s posture and tone. If anything, he appeared friendly. 

 “GUN is looking for you.”

     The ebony hedgehog sighed heavily, clearly not humored as Sonic was. Crossing his arms and offering him his signature glare, Shadow remained as stoic as ever.

     ❝Are you going to answer my question, or are you going to continue to be over dramatic?❞

 “Well, I was wondering if you could hang out for a bit, but I guess not.” He frowned, lowering his arms to his sides. It seemed everyone he knew had important things to do.

“I would hope not”, a voice remarked only for a brunette hedgehog to appear out from within the trees a moment later behind the creek. “It would be horrible to come across that” the female adds before approaching the blue mobian and the large rock he is sitting upon. The healer brown orbs half glances towards the eager looking birds before turning her gaze back towards the irritated hedgehog.

“These lot giving you trouble? want me to get rid of them?”.

　The blue hedgehog was taken aback by the other’s sudden appearance. He edged away on the rock, looking the new comer up and down warily. Pain shot up his leg as he moved, but he wasn’t in the mood to be dealing with other people. “N-no, it’s fine.”

                Down by the creek, a blue hedgehog sat atop a large rock, nursing his ankle.  It appeared swollen, and turning purple. He was dabbing a piece of moss he had found, and dipped it in water, against his ankle. With most of the blood gone, the nasty, open wound was clearly visible, and shown no signs of healing any time soon. The hedgehog hissed in pain and irritation as he once more pressed the hunk of moss against his wound. Near by, crows gathered and cawed. 

                “Oh, go away! I’m not dying.” He picked up a near by stone and threw it at the birds. They scattered, then reassembled, even daring to draw closer.

“A multitude of crimes, he has assaulted many members of our team, sabotaged and damaged public property, stolen items of various assortments, kidnapped people in the local populace and so much more…..don’t let his appearance fool you, this scumbag is probably one of the most dangerous figures around.”

This out of place solider was nothing more than one of the ‘shifters’ under the demon lord Mason’s command, you’d never guess it from how clearly they spoke and the human outline being covered up by the armor and masks they wore.

Due to their lack of being unable to chase their target down normally, they had decided to move to the next phase in their attempts, bring in the public themselves as additional eyes and ears, maybe even bring a mercenary or too into the hunt while they were at it.

“If you spot him anywhere, the first thing you should do is contact us immediately and then proceed to calmly leave the area, we shall investigate the call and apprehend this threat…..he’s highly dangerous in every regard.”

The soldier then proceeded to hand the hedgehog a small card labelled ‘PSADI’ with a number of what was most likely a phones.

“There is a reward for any help given in addition to doing your part in making this area safer for all whom inhabit it, thank you for your time.”

With that said, the soldier began to wander off as if it were part of his routine to just say all that and then move along to the next poor person to throw all that information at them, rather they liked it or not.

 He stared down at the card, then looked up as the soldier walked away. Then a smirk crept along the hedgehog’s muzzle. If this guy was as dangerous as the soldier had claimed, then Sonic felt he’d definitely had to check it out. Stuffing the card into his quills,he raced off, heading towards the forest. 

 He wasn’t quite sure why he had picked the forest as the best place to look. Maybe it was because there were so many hiding places, and there had been rumors of strange happenings going on at night. Tales of creatures snarling,and attacking those who dared to investigate. Sonic kept himself alert, perks perked and twitching in various directions. He even sniffed the air. It wasn't til he picked up an unfamiliar scent, that he raced towards it.
