oh god don't talk to me I just remembered how fucking horrendously atrocious the Origins version of Sonic 3 is.

Like it would be one thing if it was JUST the acceleration being cranked too high to the point it fucks with my muscle memory, is inconsistent with the other four games in Origins, and breaks setpieces and scripting, or if it was JUST the Retro Engine's crush-happy bullshit, or if it was JUST the Michael Jackson tracks being replaced with the beta compositions that sound 10x worse than they did in the actual beta that was found... but it's all this and more tiny things that just get to you and make this awesome game un-fun. I'm sure it's fine for people who don't have The Disorder That Makes You Think About Sonic The Hedgehog All The Time, but for anyone familiar with the game, it's a dreadful release. I would have much preferred to see the game fixed with the Origins Plus update as opposed to adding a bunch of shitty Game Gear games [and a couple good ones]

I wonder if other planets have their own Master Emeralds

When we see the Master Emerald in Sonic Frontiers in the Ancients' lore flashbacks, it's already on Earth, unlike their Chaos Emeralds... just sorta sitting on the ground in a field in the middle of nowhere

The Chaos and Master are already linked, because the Master is what CAUSES the Ancients to land on Earth, as it takes over the Chaos Emeralds and their power when the Chaos-Emerald-powered ships get close enough to the planet and thus the Master Emerald, so this already tells us the Master has a limited range and can't influence the Chaos Emeralds if they're too far away.

But since it's just sort of sitting there, possibly partially buried in the dirt, I have to wonder if it's a natural product of the Earth itself. I remember some weird lore from like the Archie or Fleetway universes where Rings are "Mobius'" energy overflowing and manifesting on the surface of the planet, so maybe the Master Emerald is like that?

So maybe other planets have their own Master Emeralds that are the product of their own energies, or maybe their energies manifest in other ways. The Mother Wisp comes to mind, she may not be a part of Planet Wisp like the Master Emerald is implied to be, but she's clearly a native, so maybe Planet Wisp's energy manifested a biological form as opposed to a mineral form. The Chaos Emeralds do neutralize her Nega form and return her to normal, but that could either be a connection or just the positive powers of the Emeralds themselves countering the negative Hyper-Go-On energy.

The Gaias completely throw a wrench in this theory though

These twin gods [Twin Stars? 🤔] are heavily implied to be a natural part of the Earth, so Earth might be unique in Sonic's universe in that the Gaias may have been emitting the energy that coalesced on the surface into the Master Emerald, emitting it from inside the planet itself. But if this is true it ALSO implies the Sol dimension's own Earth has it's own Master Emerald that controls the Sol Emeralds and therefore it's own Earth gods that created this Emerald. Further yet, since the Sol Earth's Master Emerald is never seen or even implied to exist, and since Blaze is the guardian and sole user of the Sol Emeralds, maybe she's that Earth's equivalent of the Master Emerald... she does have that Bindi-style gem in her forehead...

TL;DR when the FUCK is the new official Sonic Lore Team going to answer these incredibly important and pressing questions regarding the big fancy rocks in the story about the fast heegehog

It's still SONIC Racing Crossworlds, so we probably won't see as extensive and diverse a roster as Transformed, but I'd like to see at least NiGHTS, Ristar, Billy Hatcher, and the Chu Chus, really fill out the SonicTeam ranks. Hell go with deep cuts like Shou and Tillis from Burning Rangers, Alis and Myau from Phantasy Star 1, one of those weird faceless characters from XX/XY Feel The Magic SonicTeam has made some WEIRD ass games. Maybe Pinobee or fuckin Blinx if we're going with SonicTeam alumni, and possibly Rodea the Sky Soldier and Balan?? But I understand if no one in the Japanese games industry wants anything to do with Yuji Naka and his characters after the Dragon Quest shit 💀💀💀

Who are you all looking forward to being playable in Sonic Racing Crossworlds, whether they’re in the base game or DLC? Since we have confirmation that there will be Sega characters as well as Sonic Prime characters, there’s a lot of possibilities! (One might even say “endless” lol) Personally on the Sega side of things I think it would be awesome to see Kazuma Kiryu, Nights, Ristar, Beat, Gum, or Hatsune Miku! I think the most likely are Nights and Miku as they’ve both been given DLC treatment in recent years regarding Sonic and Sega. (Forces and Banana Blitz) As for Sonic spin-offs, I’d love to see IDW characters as well as some Paramount characters! I don’t know how well the Paramount characters would work because of copyright reasons (we weren’t even allowed to use movie Shadow outside of the Tokyo level in SXS) but I really want to main Agent Stone lol.
