Well, it has been more than 4 years since I first traveled to Australia and the australian lifestyle definitely affected me and has become a part of me! Now I’m going to look beyond the box and travel not just Australia but also New Zealand and South East Asia together with Jule :)

It seems as if we have settled in quickly although Jule is still looking for a job to safe up some money.
I’m pretty happy to work from Thursday to Sunday almost every week to justify my spendings such as the pool party we have been to and to have an orderly everyday life, which many people in this hostel desire but do not reach because of “sex, drugs, and rock n roll” which may not be too bad for short-term but is pretty much a dead end.

Let‘s change the topic, This is the beautiful hostel we live in at the moment will approximately stay until the end of January. This old mansion has been a hostel for more than 20 years and is located in Kings Cross.
Unfortunately we do not have a balcony but a very big room with great roommates and a sofa :)

It has been a while since my last update thus there is much to write :)
Jule and I wanted to travel to Sydney. Therefore we did a “campervan relocation” which was a cheap alternative because we had to pay for the fuel only. (We did the company a favor and so did they)
We started of from Melbourne very excited and ended up on a highway in the middle of the night 2 hours away from Canberra in a massive hailstorm. The storm started in the late afternoon and transformed our beautiful trip into a very dangerous adventure! The wind was constantly pushing our campervan to the very edge of the street when suddenly a tree bent over, broke and smashed onto the street about 200m in front of our car. Shocked and tired we stopped for a short break. When we got back in the car it started to rain heavily and the thunderstorm got worse. In the middle of the night, after heavy rainfalls, dead animals and the fear to hit a Kangaroo with the car by night we finally arrived in Canberra!
The rest of our trip north was not as exciting as the first part but we were happy to be able to relax for a bit.
It was a beautiful trip with natural campgrounds, kangaroos, wallabies, and a lot of SPIDERS 🥴 Jule got used to camping even tho she got sick in Canberra...by now she feels pretty good and we have arrrived in Sydney two weeks ago :)

We decided to take a bus to Phillip Island and explore this little island in the very south of Australia with a hired car, a small Hyundai i20. When we sat on an old bank and were enjoying the nature, suddenly this little fella climbed down the eucalyptus tree next to us :)

This and the next picture is Woolamai Beach on Phillip Island. There are nice little walking tracks, heaps of Wallabies and great views!

We had a peaceful and awesome time on Phillip Island and headed back to Melbourne on the 17th of November.

Yesterday we met some people thru the app “Couchsurfing”. We had to get up very early to get from Fairfield we’re we stayed that night with our lovely Airbnb hosts Sarah, Hal and their cat Pixie but it was definitely worth it!
With a hired car we drove to the “Peninsula Hot Springs” and had a very relaxing day in dozens of pools (temperatures from 12° up to 41°) and saunas.
It was a beautiful day although it was a bit cloudy and sometimes chilly. In the end of the day we had a great time and made some new friends. We’re looking forwagrd to catch up with some of them again and do the “Great Ocean Road” trip :)
Afterwards we had lunch and a great walk along the foreshore near the lighthouse of “Cape Schanck”. The picture below was shot at Cape Schanck.

Today we visited Melbourne downtown. We had an awesome view from the top of the highest Skyscraper of Melbourne and ate the best burger we have ever had at “Rocket Burgers & Fries”.
Now we’re pretty stuffed and there is nothing more relaxing than hang up your hammock in the next park and have a bloody kip!

This is a part of our daily routine. Although it’s not as it is at home it’s always fun to cook with all the others in this hostel called “Base Backpackers St Kilda”. Sometimes it feels like we are the only ones eating healthy and cooking according to recipes an the main reason therefor must be Jules great collection of recipes 😎

Burj Khalifa the highest tower of the world 828m and ownership of Emaar Properties.
This picture was shot in Dubai, I wanted to explore this “city of superlatives” and honestly its stunning and huge but weird at the same time. Everything seems so unreal, sterile and unnecessary. Nevertheless it is an impressive city. For example there are massive sharks in an aquarium in the middle of Dubai Mall and as one of the biggest malls of the world it has more than 1 million square meters!
In the end I was pretty happy about the new and unworldly impressions but sick of Dubai at the same time and ready to leave!
