THE KISS

a/n: this is a companion piece to my fic starstruck

summary: spending time on a boat in spain, seemed like the best way to relax after a race weekend. especially when charles has taken it as a opportunity, to get closer to the singer he had become so fond to

The water was calm in the afternoon, waves gently rocking the boat side to side in a soothing way. Spending a few hours out in the open ocean seemed like, the perfect way to end the race weekend. Especially considered how the race had turned out for the two drivers. Both Charles and Lando, has been unsuccessful, in scoring a podium position in the Spanish grand prix.

Both men had wanted nothing more then to lick their wounds, and focus all their energy on the next race. But y/n had not allowed it, while she knew that the race had not gone well for either driver, she wanted them to at least enjoy the time they spent in Spain.

And neither Charles or Lando had the heart to turn y/n down, both men growing increasingly fond of the young woman. It was safe to say that they both would be doing whatever they could to have her attention on them.

The warm Spanish sun heated her skin, as she laid under it's bright rays, escaping the activity's that were taking place downstairs. Hearing Lando's infectious laugh as he jet skied through the water, while Charles must of still been snorkeling off the back of the boat. Up on the top deck it was a peaceful escape from everything, finding y/n spreading herself out across the empty day bed.

Suddenly she felt her skin start to grow cold, opening one eye to see a figure standing at the foot of the day bed, " you are blocking my sun " she said playfully. Propping her body up with her hands, while she looked at Charles who was now up on the top deck with her, His hair still looked damp, and small droplets of water, rolled off his skin and onto the deck floor.

" You disappeared on us " Charles told her, while he smoothed his damp hair back, " Lando was trying to get me on the jet ski, so i had to make a quick run for it." Charles smiled at her, and y/n noticed a slight flutter in her chest. " Well i hope you are okay with some company " y/n simply nodded in response, gesturing to the empty space beside her.

Laying back down, she felt the cushions dip slightly, as Charles laid himself beside her. Both of them falling into a comfortable silence, before she felt his knee softly against her own as Charles moved around a little. " I'm trying to relax, stop moving around " she said, attempting to sound serious as Charles snickered in response before becoming still again.

A handful of minutes has passed, before y/n started to develop the feeling of eyes on her. And when she opened her eyes, she was meet with a pair of familiar green iris who seemed to be watching her. " Charles you are staring at me " she said, while noticing how her words had seemed to make him smile.

" Oh no i have been caught " he said to her teasingly, making both of them laugh, " I was just admiring how beautiful you look in this light." While it was already warm outside, y/n felt her cheeks heat up, as she took in his words, " are you trying to woo me or something leclerc?" The air suddenly became thick between them, " what if i was ?" he asked, partially sitting up, leaning over her slightly.

" Charles " she said softly, aware of his intense gaze as he looked down at her, neither of them saying anything but the silence they shared said enough. Y/n felt her heart start to hammer against her chest, as Charles leaned closer to her, feeling him place a hand gently against her hip.

His lips were soft, as they connected with her own feeling the hesitation behind the kiss. She reached her hand up, gently cupping his jaw while she kissed him back, tasting salt from the sea water still lingering on his lips. Feeling the passion grow behind the kiss, as Charles gripped her hips a little tighter while y/n pulled the two of them closer together.

" I have been wanting to do that for a while " Charles said, while they both pulled away for air, a giddy smile plastered across his face. Y/n quickly pecked him on the lips, as she let her breathing return to normal. " Well you are not going to get any complaints from me " she told him, while her arms wrapped themselves around his neck, allowing her to pull Charles back down and reconnecting their lips.

As they both laid their together on the day bed kissing, the outside world seemed to fall away. Neither of them had thought, about how Lando could catch them at any moment, or notice the boat floating out in the distance. That was silently photographing the intermediate moment they were sharing together, under the Spanish sun.

thank you so much for all the love that my series starstruck has received, it really means a lot !! i still have more parts to come, but i am also working on a few companion chapters that will be based around certain events in the series. and my first companion chapter, is going to be all about that kiss with charles !
