lol are you mad that the IDF didn’t murder Greta? AM ISRAEL CHAI! lol
It is so telling that her supporters were frothing at the mouth hoping she would die when she first said she would sail to Gaza. You wanted a horrible story where the Evil IDF murdered a "peaceful person just trying to deliver aid."
You can't handle the fact that the only thing that happened is she was deported and the IDF still donated the food her and her influencer friends didn't eat on the trip there. And the fact there's a picture of her smiling at an IDF soldier just adds to the anger.
You wanted Israel to kill all of them so that you could say "Look how horrible Israel is!" And that says more about you and your movement than it does about jews or Israelis.

I think this will be hard for some people to hear, but Israelis who live in Israel, who engage with our neighbors, who protest our government, who fight for peace and change, have done more for Palestinians than western leftists ever have or will.

the thing about the whole "they were israeli embassy workers so killing them was actually #praxis" angle is like.
are we sure we want "murdering people in cold blood because you don't like the job that they have" to be an acceptable mode of activism? because i'm a transgender person who works in childcare in a red town and i don't think that'd end well for me.

every israeli who has been protesting bibi and likud and fighting for the hostages and every gazan who has been protesting hamas and the war and demanding to be allowed to live is braver than any edgy american college kid screaming themselves hoarse in solidarity with islamofascist terrorists for six hundred fucking days and gunning people down in the nation's capital

it really is something watching people get mad at jews for running their own emergency services programs when everyone also talks about how “community is resistance” and “the system will not take care of us, we have to take care of each other.”
it’s almost like people who have resisted assimilation and have a long history of survival are good at building community. imagine the knowledge you could gain if you viewed them as neighbors and potential allies and just frankly regular human beings instead of threats worthy of immediate mistrust and derision.

kind of hit me that we are officially at the point when Jews can be murdered in broad daylight in America and leftists don’t even pretend to care. not saying this as doom and gloom I’m just saying we are on our fucking own.

I love being Jewish. I love the way a bracha rolls off my tongue, half whisper, half inheritance, and suddenly I'm not alone.
I'm stitched to something older than exile, older than fear.
There are generations behind me, candlelit and stubborn, who prayed with the same words, who wept and danced and buried their dead with the same rhythms.
Through halacha, through ritual, through the ache of tradition, I belong.

*Taps microphone* ehem, converts to Judaism are ethnically Jewish... Ethnicity is about culture and history and community, and yes religion too.
Converts didn't spend all that time learning and participating in culture, learning 3000 years of history, immersing themselves in community, and studying and practicing Jewish religion... To anxiously qualify their statements with "I'm not ethnically Jewish", you're the adoptive children of the ultimate Patriarch and Matriarch Abraham and Sarah so you can't turn around worried that you're not a part of the family.

Idk if it's just me, but the way people are so quick to try to replace the holocaust and Anne Franke by saying "this is the new holocaust" and "this person is the new Anne Franke" makes me think that people just want to erase jewish suffering from the publics memory of big fucked up events.
Like what is happening in Gaza can be its own fucked up thing. It doesn't have to be labeled the new holocaust. The world can think of more than one thing when it thinks of fucked up history.
There is literally almost no explanation other than antisemitism or parroting others antisemitism without thinking, that explains why people are so pressed and so quick to try to erase jewish suffering from the world's collective memory

I'm really sick of the "[x] was promised to them 3000 years ago" brand of antisemitism. Since when was making fun of other people's religious beliefs and cultural identity okay? It's not funny and its basically the antisemitic equivalent of "I identify as an attack helicopter" can you at least come up with something more original.
