Time to appreciate all of our underappreciated ships! APH Rare Pair Week this summer will be the week of June 26 - July 2 and will be dedicated to making content for ships that don’t see enough action in the fandom! 

The rules are pretty simple:

Follow this blog so you can stay updated!

No ship bashing. Period.

Please do not write/draw pairings from the ban list, which can be found here.

You do not have to focus on the same ship for the entire week.

Break up long posts using a read more.

Use proper warnings for sensitive content, NSFW, and common triggers.

Tag your work with #aphrarepairweek2016 so we can share it on this blog!

Prompts:

Day 1 - Sports: Gearing up for the Summer Olympics? Facing off in the Euro? Enjoying a game of volleyball on the beach? Is your ship made up of one person who is athletic and one who isn’t? Sports team AU? How is your ship enjoying sports together?

Day 2 - Dawn and Dusk: Maybe the characters in your ship are as different (or similar) as dawn and dusk. Perhaps they enjoy catching fireflies and watching stars at dusk, or waking up early for the sunrise over the ocean. Or maybe they stay up together from dusk til dawn; what they do during that time is up to you.

Day 3 - Water: This topic is as broad or narrow as you want it to be! A day at the beach–or maybe a warm rain, or a lover’s reflection in calm pond waters, tears, sweat, or simply a glass of water before bed. What does water mean to you?

Day 4 - Culture: This is Hetalia after all. What cultural differences does your ship have and how do they share them? Are there ever any disagreements based on culture? Are there any summer cultural events they like to celebrate together?

Day 5 - Refreshment: Another topic that can be broad or narrow! What qualifies as refreshment? Literal drinks at a party? Maybe a refreshing ocean spray on a hot day? Or maybe a lover’s presence is refreshment from an otherwise boring life?

Day 6 - It’s History (alternative: AU Day): Many of our favorite rare pairs have history together, whether obscure or rarely discussed by the fandom at large. Does your ship have a specific historical event that caused you to ship them? If they don’t or if you just don’t feel comfortable writing about it, you can alternatively use today as an AU day. You could even discuss alternate history or “what ifs” if you wish!

Day 7 - Gold: Another broad or narrow topic! What comes to mind when you think ‘gold’? Golden hair? Golden eyes? A golden heart? Light in the dark? A sunset? Flowers? Maybe a golden ring? It’s up to you!
