it's more and more difficult to remain in hetalia these days.

often times i keep my interest hushed away. often hearing people mar it as a joke fandom and berate it, often times being people who never even participated.

these days, it's easier for me to be openly a furry. that's kinda crazy, in a way. people have such a surface value understanding of hetalia that it's becoming tiring to keep explaining things.

while i am open of my interests usually, having the occassional "that's a very bigoted media, did you know?" preminate my sphere... having people treat my continued interest in it like I'm joking.

hetalia has been with me for 14 years. i never really wanted to say goodbye to it, and i still dont, but it's so very hard for me to continue to be in a space that has others in my circles laugh at me for it. im tired of playing it cool, whenever im already fading away from it anyway.

i dont really have friends who want to talk about it with me anymore. i wonder what my purpose here is anymore. throw fanart on this blog? it does make me smile, but im smiling alone.

this isn't a goodbye or me closing this blog, though. im just thinking out loud. is this universal? the social embargo people face with old interests?
