r/therian was never a wonderful place, but oh boy it somehow got worse.

any mention of physical therianthropy is now censored/restricted/outright deleted.

saw a comment from one of the mods defining therianthropy as "identifying as an animal on a spiritual, mental, or emotional level" and that therians "don't think they're literally an animal in a physical sense". someone responded to that comment, i assume to correct them about the physical identification thing, and that comment was removed under rule 6. another comment responding to the removal comment was again removed under rule 6. the censorship of information about a huge part of the community - and what the community was literally founded on - is insane.

Viv-terms

"Viv" prefix for living, or life. Could be called lifeterms if preferred.

A word for a creature who wants their body parts to be called that of an animals.

Example:

__ Identifies as a canine creature. _ Would like to have __'s hands called paws, nails called claws, body hair/hair called fur, etc etc.

This could be added into a bio or carrd.

Example 2:

*Name* __/__ Pronouns, canine viv-terms.

This terminology is NOT to be used by anti-shifters. You guys have your own term, dont come here and try to adopt ours.

As a Physical Therian, I don't care if other therians support or believe in us. As long as they aren't harassing us, spreading hate, or rejecting us from the community entirely, then idc. I do not care about whether or not I am valid in their eyes, nor do I care if I'm valid in the eyes of other Physical Therians.

Physical alterhumanity is a really difficult topic to grasp, that takes so much energy, time, and resources to even begin to understand. It's reasonable that someone may not want to spend all that time getting to know us or understand us. After all, we're a community of identity, not fandom.

Of course I'd love a world where people do care to spend their time getting to understand and support us. But, we're so niche that half of the community doesn't even know we exist. And the way I see it, It's unfair to expect someone to be educated on us.

i don't mean to "e-beg" or anything but honestly.. work has been tiring and i feel as though im not getting anywhere by relying on one source of income.

I'd be so happy if you just buy one book without even reading it, im not writing them for everyone like a bestseller, im writing them for those who really think worldbuilding is cool.

want to see me put more money(=time) into physical nonhuman stuff, research, and such? one book would keep me on my feet, and they aren't even expensive.

currently have a physical shifter book in progress with help from a few other shifters and a lot of information to scratch through, which takes hella time. want me to afford days off at my retail job for these projects? me and the friends working on it would love to be supported.

this piece makes me very euphoric, ive been wanting to draw a more realistic version of what i envision myself to look like, and i finally did it. it was a lot of fun and it's very experimental, but i can finally show myself to the world in a clearer way. 💙✨
