Fashion Police: A floral disaster
Veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi might have set the screen on fire in her early days (dancing in saris in the rain) but this time, the look wasn’t exactly easy on the eyes.
The Chandni actor arrived at an art showcase in Mumbai looking rather unfashionable.
Here is what she did wrong:
The charge sheet
Hair & make-up
Despite the fact that Sridevi’s face was her only saving grace at the event, it was not done up properly. We do like the smokey eye look, but Sridevi went completely wrong with that black shadow. The credit for her almost panda-like eyes goes to the sloppy smudged eye shadow. We wish she had reapplied lipstick before getting ready for pictures — it looks like it has been peeled off.
We really don’t want to comment on her hair — it’s surprising how she tied it up carelessly in a ponytail, which rested on her shoulder. We would love to see those locks cascading down her shoulders!
Outfit
Alright, we get it — Sridevi wanted to look youthful and bubbly. What else can be the reason behind opting for this ensemble, comprising a sky blue shirt lapelled around the waist with a beady brooch paired with silk floral pants. While we don’t despise the combination of the outfit itself, we can’t help but raise an eyebrow on the unbecoming fitting.
A sari or something more flattering would suit someone like Sridevi, who has managed to maintain a curvaceous figure even at this age.
Accessories & shoes
The accessories and shoes aren’t bad on their own but they just look a little out of place with her clothes.
A pair of neon coloured heels or stark red heels would have looked way better.
Bail out!
Beyonce
Out and about in New York City, sporting these stunning Stella McCartney print pants, Beyonce is looking fab and chic! We love those bright yellow shoes and that rockstar attitude.
Jessica Alba
Actor Jessica Alba is on top of her game with this outfit. We love the chic floral pants, contrasted against an orange tee and double-shaded turquoise and black overcoat. Matching her outfit, she wore turquoise heels — smokin’!
Olivia Palermo
Reality TV star Olivia Palermo looks stunning in these floral print pants, which she’s worked up with a plain crop top and a blazer. We also love how she’s pulled off print-on-print by wearing animal print shoes with her pants.

BagFest: Arm candy for the socially-aware fashionista
KARACHI: Entrepreneur Ayesha Mustafa of Fashion Compassion returned to Karachi to showcase her successful Palestyle bag collection at Labels on Wednesday evening. Mustafa presented a limited collection of 20 exclusive bags in different colours at an exhibition titled BagFest.
“This is a special collection for Eid that is being exhibited at Labels only for a day. There are 20 bags, and each one is a unique piece on its own,” Mustafa told The Express Tribune. Made from genuine Italian leather, the collection consists stylish totes, wallets and clutches embellished with gold-plated calligraphy. The calligraphic monograms included taglines such as ‘magic of my eyes’, ‘women of power’, etc in Arabic. The collection overall is best suited for a night out.
One of the strengths of Fashion Compassion is that it incorporates fashion with social activism. Like most of its collections, this too had a charitable mission behind it. A percentage of the proceedings go to various community projects happening across the world. Mustafa highlights that currently her team is working on the Water Exchange Program for the Palestinian refugees of al Piqaa Camp. This camp is located in Amman, Jordan sheltering about 18,000 refugees that don’t have access to clean water. Through these bags, she is helping around 4,000 refugees and setting up three schools.
While there are a lot of clothing labels that do their bit in fulfilling corporate social responsibility, London-based Mustafa has mostly focused on accessories. “In London, I see people spend three times more on accessories than on clothes. People often return clothes but never accessories. It is a niche market so I am focusing more on hand bags for now.”

Bridal fever sears in Lahore pre-PLBW
LAHORE: While the upcoming PFDC Bridal Week is one of the biggest platforms to rely on for future bridal trends and some wedding shopping, multi-brand store Ensemble held its own little bridal showcase in Lahore. Held on Wednesday, the one-day exhibition featured bridal collections from three Karachi-based designers Feeha Jamshed, Umar Sayeed and Delphi.
Though Jamshed is mostly known for her prêt wear including her famous janitor jumpsuits and flowy cotton tunics, her bridal collection is the one to watch out for. With an affordable price range, the designer put her creative skills to test and experimented with earthy tones, geometric patterns and traditional beadwork. The beadwork on one of her outfits was so intricate that it looked more like fine mukesh. Another outfit that stood out was the ‘Silver Bling’ with christmas tree motifs. The outfits are well-stitched, with some unusual kimono sleeves inspired by the Sindhi chogha. She has also become the latest designer to delve into digital prints, with some colourful digitally-printed silk saris on display. Overall, it was a fun collection and showed off Feeha’s talent and her transformation as a designer. Her outfits were priced between Rs100,000 to Rs320,000.
Umar Sayeed can easily be called a ‘bride magnet’ with his innovative and timeless designs. While his gorgeous outfits incorporate elaborate traditional work, they come at a hefty price and not everyone can afford them. When word got out that Sayeed is bringing an ‘affordable range of bridals’ we were very excited to see what it was. However, there were only two bridals on the rack. The collection mostly comprised luxury prêt wear including lightly-embroidered chiffon pieces and some bead work. A jacket inspired by the basant festival with kites embroidered on it was a winner.
Delphi works primarily with crochet and had brought a collection of outfits based on its signature aesthetic. If one likes outfits made entirely out of crochet then Delphi would appeal to your taste. Sequined crochet with protruding rosettes comprised the entire collection. With a varying colour palate Delphi’s rack started off with white crocheted gowns moving into ivories and then a range of pastels.

Four uses of face oils
LONDON: While dermatologists endorse plant-based facial oils as they offer major hydration, makeup artists too recommend them as they leave the skin glowing but not greasy.
From helping remove makeup to being a natural looking highlighter, facial oils have some secret uses, reports vogue.in.
Here are four benefits of facial oils:
1. Any facial oil will gently remove waterproof mascara, long wearing eye shadow and lipstick in just a few trouble free swipes.
2. Rich fatty acid oils, like argan and jojoba, that are easily absorbed by the skin are also soaked up by hair. Hair stylist Guido Palau suggests smoothing a drop over dry ends or unruly bangs to tame frizz and tackle flyaways.
3. Add oil to a cream or liquid foundation for hydration and to make it more sheer for lighter coverage.
4. After your makeup, tap a bit of oil on to cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and shoulders for a natural looking highlighter, says makeup artist Quinn Murphy.

Waar: ‘Girls can do action sequences, too’
LAHORE: One would expect Pakistan’s first major action-thriller to keep the fighting scenes focused on male characters. But Waar makers have something different up their sleeves. The film releasing on Eidul Azha features singer-turned-actor Meesha Shafi and TV actor Ayesha Khan, who are all set to show some stellar action stunts.
“I wanted headstrong dominating females in the films,” says producer Hassan Waqas Rana, adding that Khan plays the role of a chief communication and intelligence officer at a counter-terrorism agency. “The girls had to go through rigorous training, and Ayesha had to carry a weapon at all times. So, her way of walking also changed.” Without giving away too much, he adds that Shafi will be seen in a “dominating mode that builds the action of the film.”
Khan plays an overconfident and unapologetic agent. “I wanted to show that girls can do action sequences, too,” she tells The Express Tribune. “For the first time, I got the chance to be part of action sequences and use real weapons.” She adds that due to Waar’s “sophisticated cinematography”, the project will be distinctly different from others.
The actor admits she had to take a break from television which is her forte, but she doesn’t regret the decision one bit as she feels Waar will revive stakeholders’ confidence in the industry. “We all had been working independently for quite some time but this has brought us together for the first time,” says Khan, referring to her co-stars Shaan, Shamoon Abbasi, Shafi, Ali Azmat and Hamza Ali Abbasi.
Waar has been shot primarily in English, a different challenge altogether for actors who have largely done projects in Urdu. “I have always acted in Urdu. I would joke in the middle of the scenes that it’s so hard to cry in English,” she says with a laugh.
Expectations surrounding the movie are mounting up and rightfully so. Waar has been in production for over two years and is finally complete. Cast member Abbasi admits this was bound to happen as the current infrastructure and support are not developed enough to cater to such large-scale projects. “I am certain that this movie will set a [new] standard. It will be the one to watch out for,” he says, proud of the team’s accomplishments.
“For most of us, it was not a professional commitment, but more a commitment of passion,” he continues, adding that the actors have worked hard to make the film as close to reality as possible.
Azmat had turned down several television projects just to be part of Waar as he was enamoured by the freshness of the project, Abbasi reveals. “In my case, I was involved from the beginning, so I grew up with this.

Reference to Musharraf gets War Chhod Na Yaar in trouble
There is no good news for the film-makers of anti-war satire War Chhod Na Yaar (WCNY) as the Indian Censor Board of Film Certification has thrown its October 11 release in a tizzy. Due to reference in the film directed towards former president of Pakistan General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, the film’s release is now uncertain.
Clamping down what has been touted as India’s first war comedy, the censor board told the film’s producer Prashanth Narayan that WCNY has been forwarded to the revising committee. “We showed the film to the Censor Board on Monday. They suggested some minor changes like beeps in a couple of places. They promised to give the letter clearing the film the next day with a ‘U’ certificate,” said Narayan.
However, Narayan was shocked when his film was refused the censor certificate. “I was told the film has gone to the revising committee because of the reference to General Musharraf,” said Narayan, adding that they had to snip out the reference to Musharraf. “My argument is not about the cut. I want to know why we were not told about the necessary changes when we first went to the censors,” he added. “The delay had a snowballing effect [to the film]. The prints took longer to be readied and the distribution process was delayed. We lost our precious time.”
The trailer of WCNY, which was released three weeks ago, sparked various debates online with people from Pakistan complaining that the film demeans the Pakistani Army and portrays it in a bad light.

Splitsville for Cole, Holloway?
LOS ANGELES: Singer Cheryl Cole and US dancer Tre Holloway have reportedly ended their relationship.
Cole has ended her 14-month romance with Holloway because their hectic work schedules and the distance between them took a toll on their relationship, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“Cheryl and Tre had a brilliant year together, but the pressures of long distance dating eventually became too much,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper.
“Although Cheryl does a lot of work in America, often it is in New York, which is still a good six-hour flight away. The time difference, plus the hectic nature of Cheryl’s working schedule, eventually took their toll.
“Cheryl realised that if they weren’t going to live together, realistically, the relationship, just wasn’t going to go anywhere,” the source added.

Monroe plastic surgery notes, X-rays up for auction
LOS ANGELES: A physician’s notes on Marilyn Monroe, which indicate that the Hollywood sex symbol had undergone cosmetic surgery, will be up for sale next month along with a set of her X-rays, an auction house said on Tuesday.
The set of six X-rays and a file of doctors’ notes that offer a partial medical history of the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes actor from 1950 to 1962, are expected to fetch between $15,000 and $30,000 at auction on November 9 and 10, said Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, California.
The notes written by Hollywood plastic surgeon Michael Gurdin appear to confirm speculation that Monroe, who epitomised glamour and set a standard of movie star beauty during the latter part of Hollywood’s golden era, went under the knife for cosmetic reasons.
The seller, who is so far unnamed, received the items as a gift from Gurdin. “Nobody really thought about Marilyn Monroe having plastic surgery. It was always speculation – did she or didn’t she?,” said Martin Nolan, Executive Director of Julien’s Auctions. “They thought she was such a natural beauty, they didn’t want to believe [the truth],” he said.
Gurdin’s notes include references to a 1950 cartilage implant in Monroe’s chin, which he observed to have slowly begun to dissolve. Monroe’s biggest films, such as How to Marry a Millionaire, The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot, were all shot after 1950.
“Also at that time, going back to the ‘50s, people didn’t go for plastic surgery procedures,” Nolan added. “This is very new.”
X-rays include Monroe’s frontal facial bones, a composite right and left X-ray of the sides of her nasal bones and dental X-rays of the roof of her mouth. A set of three chest X-rays of Monroe from 1954 sold for $45,000 at a 2010 auction.

Red carpet: Celebrating in style
B-town a-listers looked ravishing at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2013. Clad in super stylish ensembles, these celebs wowed us with their sartorial splendour as they celebrated excellence in the spheres of business, sports, film, literature and art. Here are some of our favourite looks from the evening:
Shruti Hassan
Shruti wore a black Rajat Tangri gown with heavy golden sequin work. The black nails and red pout looked glorious on her golden skin. Although we are not crazy about the trail of the dress, Shruti truly looked drop dead gorgeous at the event.
Neha Dhupia
Time and again, Neha has dazzled us with her impeccable dress sense. She set the red carpet on fire in a bang-on trend long-sleeved cobalt blue Roberto Cavalli gown with waist cut-outs. We simply adore the vintage short wavy hairstyle. Her subtle lips, defined eyes and silver nails looked fabulous.
Arjun Rampal
Arjun tops our list of the men who sizzled on the red carpet just as much as the ladies. He wore a black bandhgala jacket with Jodhpuri white pants. His dress to impress style mantra reflected in his classy attire. And he pulls a long mane like no one else!
Kangna Rtanaut
Kangana was undoubtedly one of the best dressed celebs on the red carpet. She looked stunning in a bubblegum pink, flared Red Valentino dress. The cat-eye liner enhanced her beautiful eyes. She softened her look with rosy cheeks and lips, and nude nail colour. Her Holly Golightly-inspired bouffant bun and pearls looked glamorous. And one can never go wrong with a pair of black Louboutins!
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam does it again. With her spectacular sense of style, she is bound to look fabulous. At the event, she sported a leopard print Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown featuring sculptural pockets. The top knot bun enhanced her clean and classy look. We love the subtlety of the make-up that makes her steal the show. Her chunky earrings added a bit of funk to her look.
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik lived up to his Greek god image by wearing a three piece suit. The shimmery brown jacket, black silk shirt and bow looked phenomenal and what’s best is that he wears them with a super sexy stubble.

New Post has been published on http://apniweb.pk/eye-makeup-wear/
Eye makeup: Wear it right
LONDON: Who doesn’t want to flaunt smokey eyes, but unfortunately they don’t work for everyone. So the trick is to find out the right makeup that suits your eyes, otherwise a fashion statement can turn into a fashion faux paus.
Whether your eyes are too small, too big, too close or too far apart, you need to tweak your makeup to enhance your eyes’ shape, reports vogue.in.
Here’s how you can go with the suitable makeup for your eye:
For almond shaped eyes like Aishwarya Rai: You can’t really go wrong with this eye shape. Smoky shadows, graphic lines, bold colours – feel free to play.
For down turned eyes like Katrina Kaif: Sometimes it’s genetics, sometimes it’s the result of age and the weakening of eye muscles, but if the outer corners of your eyes tend to droop, a cat-eye with an exaggerated upward flick is the easiest way to offset the down turned shape.
For deep-set eyes like Sridevi: You don’t need to contour the crease because it will be quite defined already. As tempted as you may be, avoid dark smoky eyes, they give your eyes a more sunken appearance. To make them pop, use light shadows with shimmers and pearlescent sheens that’ll catch the light on the lid and below the brow bone.
For hooded eyes like Blake Lively: If you can barely see the lid when you open your eyes, you know you have hooded eyes. Most shadow styles work with this type of eye shape, but pay extra attention to your top lash line and lash base. Amp those up generously with volumising mascara. Extend the colour you use in the crease all the way to the eyebrow to create a more definite shape.
For close-set eyes like Kareena Kapoor: If the inner corners of your eyes are very close to the bridge of your nose, you need to focus on the outer corners. Here’s where you apply your darker/brighter shadows and pull them out. Open up the inner corners with light, highlighting shadows.
For wide-set eyes like Alia Bhatt: Here you do the opposite of the above. Dark shades should be focused on the inner corners and blended out to lighter hues on the outer corners.
For prominent eyes like Deepika Padukone: If your eyes are the boldest feature on your face, go easy on the eye makeup. Contour subtly and use matte shadows close to your skin tone. Play up your lips with a bright pout to balance it out.

British PM all praise for Cumberbatch’s work in The Fifth Estate
British Prime Minister David Cameron has commended Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate and has showed “qualified support” for Assange’s early works, The Guardian reported.
Based on real life events that involved whistle-blowing and unearthing classified information, The Fifth Estate depicts WikiLeaks’ transition from a novel internet company to the “world’s most dangerous website,” as former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg calls it.
The prime minister was asked to review the film prior to his appearance on the current affairs programme The Agenda on ITV on Monday night. He managed to watch the first half of the film. Calling it a “fantastic piece of acting,” Cameron said that while WikiLeaks had done well initially when it uncovered corruption in Africa, its later works put lives at risk, reported IANS.
Advocating transparency as a “great disinfectant,” Cameron said, “Transparency about information and where money is spent and how it is spent – this helps keep governments and politicians honest. So it is a good thing”. However, he adds, “There is some information that the government has to keep secret for national security, for people’s safety. I think that needs to be part of the debate too,” reported The Guardian.
“The twitchiness and everything of Julian Assange is brilliantly portrayed,” Cameron said. But he feels Assange is shown to be more concerned about the fate of people the likes of Chelsea Manning who leaked documents to WikiLeaks, instead of those whose security may have been compromised by the leaks, The Guardian reported.
Directed by Bill Condon, The Fifth Estate has been selected as the closing film at the 15th Mumbai Film Festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image. The eight-day film fest will start on October 17.

Affleck wants Larry David in 'Man of Steel' sequel
LOS ANGELES: Actor Ben Affleck reportedly wants actor Larry David to make a cameo appearance in “Man of Steel” sequel.
Affleck has been roped in to play Batman in the movie.
David and Affleck have been talking about the idea of the former playing the role of Superman’s enemy, Mr Myxlplyx, in the movie, that features both Batman and Superman, reports radaronline.com.
“They chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend. Larry has long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi ‘Spider-Man’ sequels nearly a decade ago,” said a source.
David trusts Affleck and is considering the offer.

Get The Look: Black-and-white chic
Remember Emily Blunt’s sexy corporate looks in Devil Wears Prada? That’s exactly how model-turned-actor Aamina Sheikh’s publicist Nazish looked like at the premiere of Lamha (Seedlings) in Karachi. We loved her sassy and straightforward look. Here’s a breakdown of her look:
Hair
Nazish is rocking the short bob! It doesn’t suit every face cut, but it certainly looks flattering on her. Our vote goes in favour of getting this haircut to beat the blazing October heat.
Outfit
This white georgette shirt with cup sleeves (Rs4,000) and pleated trousers (under Rs5,000) from Mango look stunning. While getting the same can hurt your pocket, look out for cheaper alternatives at Outfitters or Stoneage — the whole ensemble will cost you under Rs5,000.
Make-up
We are glad Nazish didn’t go into overdrive with her make-up. Start with daubing The Body Shop’s concealer (Rs1,150) under your eyes to get rid of those dark circles. Then smooth out Artdeco’s face powder (Rs2,000) on your face. Line your eyes with Bourjois’ Liner Pinceau (Rs1,800). Achieve this glossy maroon pout with Mac’s Ruby Woo (Rs2,000).
Accessories and Shoes
That beady necklace, which Nazish bought from Italy, is a stunner and is adding up the right amount of pop to her outfit. We are also in love with her maroon clutch and that sexy pair of snakeskin heels from Charles and Keith (Rs6,000). A nose ring and a silver watch provided finishing touches.

N-Gents officially begins ‘groo-men’
KARACHI: The hippest socialites and celebs of K-town gathered this Sunday to celebrate in style the grand opening of N-Gents salon.
As one steps foot into the double-storey building, one witnesses a space that both through its interior and ambiance, focuses on comfort and sophistication. The interior is classy, with black and nougat brown hues. Zair, owner of N-Gents and son of acclaimed stylist Nabila, has attempted to simulate the vintage era aesthetic and pays homage to its values. “During the era, barbering was an art worthy of appreciation as opposed to today, where it is simply considered fashionable,” he said.
The hair-washing portion of the salon looks nice and relaxing. PHOTO: ARIF SOOMRO/EXPRESS
On the ground floor hang portraits of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, George Bernard Shaw and Ernest Hemingway. It is interesting to note that the sense of style of these iconic personalities perfectly epitomises the chic and masculine vibe of the salon. Pointing at these portraits, Zair said that he believes that everything has to do with the personality: “We will focus more on the personality and character of the man rather than the look. There has to be more below the surface.”
N-Gents is a modern day, feel-good salon that attempts to provide an all-rounded, traditional grooming experience for men. It is a dream come true for the metrosexual man. Bringing back the old school craft and charm, N-Gents aims at rekindling the concept of being scrupulously groomed at all times.
Staying true to the salon’s feel, the ambience at the launch was exquisite. PHOTO: ARIF SOOMRO/EXPRESS
The salon offers a wide variety of services, including stylish cuts, hot shaves, Moroccan baths and massages. As Zair affirms, the salon does not merely offer cutting and shaving services: “Our clients can come here for coffee, cigars, music, reading the newspaper and even to schedule their meetings before or after the cut; we are very open that way”.
On the question of what sets N-Gents apart from the rest of the salons, Nabila said, “It’s a different class. It is old school barbering techniques entwined with contemporary looks. It is top of the line and is not expensive.” Trained by the maestro herself, barbers at N-Gents are “qualified” professionals. The salon has seven in-house barbers and three visiting artists, according to Zair. “The place is service-focused; quality and client satisfaction are our top-most concerns. The barbers have been given stringent training in men’s grooming in a well-rounded way,” he said.
For Komail Anum, a client at N-Gents, who was present at the launch, his haircut and experience were fulfilling, bar none: “Not only did they [stylists] cut my hair but also treated it prior to the cut. Later, they also gave me tips on how to style it”.
N-Gents offers a complete experience and unashamedly acknowledges that men need to be pampered just like women do. As Nabila rightly said, “A male does sometimes want to pamper himself away from the female gaze”.

New Post has been published on http://apniweb.pk/choose-lip-colour/
Choose the right lip colour
LONDON: No one would want to wear the wrong lip colour, especially the ones that just divert attention from your shimmering pink lips to yellow teeth.
Vogue.in gives some tips on how to choose the right lip colour:
1. Pale pink: Instead of blah nudes that make teeth look more yellow, pick brightening shimmery pinks, says Marissa Nemes, a make up artist in Miami.
2. Sheer pink: A hydrating, see through gloss with a hint of a berry (versus orange-y versions like coral) counteracts subtle yellowing.
3. Light pink: Bolder than sheer glosses, these matte rose shades have just the right blue undertone to minimise yellowish tinges on teeth.
4. Bright pink: Whether bubble gum or fuchsia, these electric blue-based colours dramatically brighten, says Edward Cruz, a New York-based make up artist.
5. Bright red: Bold, opaque reds can make teeth appear up to two shades whiter, Nemes says. Apply two layers straight from the tube for a more intense effect.
6. Deep red: It’s little surprise that the classic femme fatale colour creates the ultimate sexy smile. Apply with your finger for a lasting stain-like finish.

Water a waste of time! Slasher movies work best on terra-firma where girls in a state of disrobed desperation make a dash for safety. Alas, here the characters have nowhere to run to. Neither do we.
In “Warning”, the entire slasher genre is shifted to the aqua splendour of the Fijian water where true to its genre, characters start getting killed/wounded/slashed/maimed.
The ladies of this uproariously funny slasher movie get to wear swimwear most of the time. No censor objection since they are in the water. And surely you can’t swim in a burqa!
But yes, you can get killed in the azure acres of silence. Water runs deep when it is marred by killer fish.
Koi shark?!
The 3D format is used here in a strangely eccentric and miserly way. When you expect the water to surge towards you, there is just a flat silence on the screen. You are left wondering why those silly glasses were required in the first place.
Sigh, “Life of Pi” in the high seas, was so much more eloquent. Here, the water just seems to invite violence and not of a very convincing kind. The young actors seem to be in it for the all-expenses paid Fijian holiday with a bit of amateur shooting thrown in to legitimise the vacationing costs.
Everyone connected with the film does a lazy, if not altogether a lousy job. I do like to encourage new talent. And I’d like to give these newcomers the benefit of the doubt. There is very little plot only a whole lot of deep water to sink one’s teeth and other body parts in. The intended tension gets suffocating after 20 minutes.
And 3D be damned!
How much and how many times can you watch the actors jump into the deep end without losing their bearings? Some of the intended terror is plainly bland. And worse when you are supposed to be trembling in fear, you actually find yourself shaking with laughter.
Very honestly there are seeds of a killer thriller somewhere in this watery mess. But what to do? While leaving for their Fijian holiday, the crew forgot to take along the script.
Be warned. Undersea thrillers don’t work. Anthony D’Souza’s mega-disastrous “Blue” should’ve been warning enough. The last and only really successful water scare-fest was Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws”.
This one comes too late and with too little, in fact, almost nothing to offer.
If you like horror films please watch ground level slasher films. If you dig girls in bikinis please watch “Baywatch”.
But if you like to torture yourself with mid-ocean inertia, you know where to go!
