Here's some pictures I took of @labrabrosmusic at the downtown Susie's using my extremely outdated 12 year old camera. Everything was automatic from the shots to the color correction so I guess this post deserves a #nofilter. Art + Experimentation. . . . A couple of months ago I was in an advanced typography class. There was an assignment where I was allowed to do whatever I want with typography. Given my interest in street art, I really wanted to do a mural. Big surprise: nobody was willing to let me paint their wall in a 3 week time frame, so I moved on to my next option... make a 5ft x 5ft canvas and use street art techniques like wheat pasting and spray paint to give the canvas some street art aesthetic. The canvas was my profs idea so I thought I would get a good grade, but she hated the finished product (the 6th image). I received the same grade for a giant hand made canvas that required hours of work as the students that can barely use an xacto knife and a can of spray mount. I was pissed. So I brought my giant canvas home and started to do whatever the hell I want to it. Now my giant canvas is where I experiment with spray paint, oil paint, markers, wheat paste, etc. I have no idea what I'm doing and it feels SO GOOD. . . . Moral of the story: If you're an artist do whatever the fuck you want to do and don't let somebody's bullshit subjective opinion stop you. . . . (P.S.
