I still can't get over how much I love the fact that The Batman didn't have Batman disguise his voice when in the suit. I know the choice was a practical one (and I'm glad Matt Reeves made that decision), but I also absolutely LOVE the way it aligns with this particular iteration of Bruce. This is a Bruce who is PHENOMENALLY uncomfortable in his own skin and his identity as Bruce Wayne. He's a reclusive, mentally ill, highly traumatized man who's extremely uncomfortable in every social interaction he has to endure as Bruce, and we can see that in every aspect of his presence. He's hunched, barely makes eye contact, and just generally gives the sense that he's trying his hardest to sink into the floor.
He's completely different as Batman. There's a confidence and physicality to his presence- he takes up undeniable space in an unapologetic way. Bruce is comfortable as Batman in a way that he isn't as Bruce Wayne. He's still quiet and soft-spoken, and the biggest change in his voice is that it's MAYBE a little deeper at times- otherwise it's just his regular speaking voice. It doesn't matter though because his physical presence is so vastly different as Batman compared to Bruce Wayne that he feels like a completely different person even with the same voice. Pattison's command over his physical presence in and out of the suit is masterful enough that even we as the audience get the sense that these are two different people despite KNOWING that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same person.
More than that, I think letting Batman have the same quiet voice as Bruce actually ADDS to his physical presence. He's quiet and soft-spoken but he is goddamn THERE and his presence can't be ignored. It really highlights the comfort and confidence Bruce feels as Batman that he very painfully does NOT feel as Bruce Wayne, and I absolutely LOVE that we get to have this contrast. Props to Matt Reeves for making that decision and mega props to Robert Pattinson for being able to convey it all so well

I relish the idea of Harley Quinn, licensed therapist, figuring out how much damage supervillains are doing to Batman’s psyche and just. Going, “fuck it, I’m your nemesis now.”
Like she offs the Joker and then starts taking control of the Gotham underworld but like. Shifts it away from creepy serial killer shit towards 1966-era silly crimes. So like Bruce is walking into Riddler’s latest plot expecting him to be like “answer my riddles correctly or I’ll kill a hostage every hour!” except that it turns out that no, Nygma is just stealing pudding because it’s St. Patrick’s Day special and it’s colored green.
Harley’ll be like “I’ve TAKEN OVER GOTHAM, B-man, and you’ll have to work your HARDEST to stop me!” except all she’s done is hire a bunch of clown flash mobs to dance YMCA inside various police stations so Bruce just gets a little light exercise. Sometimes she breaks into the Batcave but there’s never any danger in it because she just wants to have tea. There’s no worry about any of his children getting traumatized because if she sees any of them are having problems she immediately stops her schemes for an impromptu therapy session

years later and its still on my mind so here are some v easy ways (imo) they could have made endgame better w/o changing the whole plot;
-switched clint & thor’s storyline’s. in the beginning of the film, thor chops thanos’ head off without remorse. it would have made more sense for him to go into a beserker’s rage for five years & play judge and executioner rather than clint. clint, after losing his entire family goes into a deep depression and locks himself away in a shitty nyc apartment, formally retiring from “hawkeye”
-instead of nerfing steve’s entire character, have him officially become nomad and spend years on the road searching for answers. he watched his best friend die for the second time in front of him, he lost his right hand man and bestie sam, he watched hundreds blink away in an instance– those are the people he should have been mourning (not a woman who died of old age years prior). he’s a stubborn bastard who would die before he gave up, and he should have been the one to end up in a san fran warehouse and let scott lang out of the quantum realm instead of a rat
-the avengers should have gone back in time to get more pym particles so they could do infinite runs (that was a major plot whole) and retcon, BUT so that there was legitimate stakes, they realize that the more they mess w the timeline and travel thru the quantum realm, the more they “fade away” and glitch (like ava starr slowly dying in antman 2)
-instead of reintroducing billions upon billions of lifeforms to a post apocalyptic society, the avengers should have used the infinity stones to make it so that the Snap never happened and reset the timeline. no one would know the sacrifices they made, but that was ok. then phase 4 would have had a fresh start rather than trying to write around the plot holes that endgame made
-the film should have ended with all the surviving avengers at a schwarma place just like in avengers 1, but this time we would know it was the last time we’d ever see them all together

Humans never change; my favorite examples
Graffiti uncovered from Pompeii that literally just says “I fucked a girl here” (in so many words)
The fact that the name “Yucatan” possibly translates as “I don’t know what you’re saying” because the Natives had no clue what Spanish was
A ruling Spaniard once asked an ancient MezoAmerican to write something in his native language. It took hundreds of years to decipher it after the language was all but lost, but when we finally read it, it just said “I don’t want to do this”
That graffiti in the Hagia Sophia that says “Halfdan wrote this”
This Ancient Mosaic, meaning “Be cheerful, live your life”
Tumblr media
This adorable picture of a Victorian couple trying not to laugh while getting their photographs taken:

King Tut’s duck tunic

Everything about Ea-nasir
Mesopotamian Break-Up Letter that says “News has reached me via the Upper Euphrates that you were visiting with my childhood friend Nisaba. I am devastated by this betrayal, as you are one of my favorite concubines. You have until the end of the month to pick up your flax shawls and sandals or else I will donate them to the temple of the moon god.”
Evidence in Prehistoric Civilizations of tribes caring for the Disabled. One story shows a young disabled woman who died of a tooth infection because her family fed her too many dates, spoiling her to make her feel better. Here's a better video on the subject
The first recorded Meme, used in WW2, Kilroy was Here. People would graffiti this so much that the Nazi's wondered if Kilroy was some kind of famous spy

And probably more that I can't think of right now :)
Feel free to add your own

In light of the recent news of where exactly Disney is putting their funds, I think it’s time I say something we all should hear:
You’re not an awful person for liking movies and shows produced by Disney.
Really, you’re not.
Because there’s the difference between Disney as a company and the many talented individuals whose made all your favorite shows and movies.
Those are the people you praise when talking about a movie or show. And you’re not a monster for saying you like something like The Owl House, Alladin, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Tangled, Wreck It Ralph, Encanto, Iron Man, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Thor: Ragnorok, and many others.
Disney may have produced and distributed all of them, but they’re not responsible for their greatness.
Don’t let one name ruin the whole picture.

J. R. R. Tolkien, undisputedly a most fluent speaker of this language, was criticized in his day for indulging his juvenile whim of writing fantasy, which was then considered—as it still is in many quarters— an inferior form of literature and disdained as mere “escapism.” “Of course it is escapist,” he cried. “That is its glory! When a soldier is a prisoner of war it is his duty to escape—and take as many with him as he can.” He went on to explain, “The moneylenders, the knownothings, the authoritarians have us all in prison; if we value the freedom of the mind and soul, if we’re partisans of liberty, then it’s our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as possible."

in batman 2022 bruce wayne's parents were killed in 2001 he would have been like 10? i think. the black parade was released in 2006 when he would have been ambiguously high school aged and obviously very emo and unpopular. what i'm saying here is that i think battinson heard the lyrics "when i was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band he said son when you grow up will you be the savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned" and decided to become batman then and there.

I want to see Bruce being a very awkward but a very good dad. Silently standing over Dick as he talks very fast about how much he hates his math homework and Bruce just nodding along and quietly going “I am good at math. I will help.” Like he’s saying and doing the right things but just awkwardly.

"Why don't the people of Gotham just move?"
Because it's a massive East Coast city but the property values are probably like $200 a month for a three bedroom apartment, and most Gothamites are like, "Hey, Bane never swore to break my back."
And here's the thing: you're not just moving out of Gotham City. You're moving into the rest of the DC universe. And it has hero-based power scaling.
Oh, Metropolis looks fucking great. But it gets invaded by aliens and robots and demigods, because Superman is there.
Wonder Woman's tangling with gods.
You go to Central City, and some Reverse-Flash motherfucker runs backwards from an alternate future and kicks your balls off at the speed of light.
You could move to the West Coast, and oh, an entire city just gets exploded by Cyborg Superman or some shit.
How about you move to Indianapolis, or Cleveland? Haha, no. They have no protector during the alien invasions, and you're in Cleveland
So stay in Gotham. Sure, you have lunatics, but you know that if you had a gun, you at least have a chance against the Joker or Riddler. Mongo of War-World would crush you. But Gotham just has creeps, and you know you have a chance. Even Bane, R'as Al-Ghul, Killer Croc, and Mr. Freeze are just slightly altered dudes. Oh no, Poison Ivy is going to kiss me to death! Who gives a shit, you kinda wanted to go out that way anyway.
There are super-intelligent telepathic gorilla warlords in Africa and the Greek titans are real and chained in the abyss
