I promised, didn’t I?
This post might be a bit late, but I did say I’d dump a good bit of sketchbook art yesterday, so consider this my follow-up!  I’m gonna dump a bunch of sketches here and stop every once and a while to talk briefly about a certain pic.  Let’s start here!

It may look like a bored scribble, but the sketch on the left is a redraw of a character I made in the 6th grade.  I’ve really been wanting to build a story around him since his story and properties are actually not that bad.  The little hooded figure next to that was actually a concept for a game my friends were coming up with a couple months back that died down when the idea became more and more of a stretch.

You might notice that most of my ‘sona sketches are profile facing towards the right.  This is the easiest way for me to draw him, but I’ve been trying to find other ways to do it.  This picture was drawn when I first started to pay close attention to anatomy.  I tried to draw the human body as well as I could from memory.  Getting feedback from friends, I was told that the legs weren’t too bad, so this sketch ended up being one of my favorites.

You’ll also notice that most of the sketches are of Kay.  Again, that’s because he’s the easiest to draw.  I’ve been working on his design for a while and drawing him over and over again in different ways has helped my develop my style a bit more.  This sketch/comic thing as a whole isn’t my best, but I take a bit of pride the top left frame, namely how I managed to do the face.

These last two pictures feature Jeryl, a different ‘sona that I’ll post a better picture of later.  The top sketch was based off of an album by Superfruit called Future Friends (absolutely recommended, btw).  I think it shows the semi-seriousness that he has compared to Kay.  The bottom sketch is a concept of some headgear I’ll try to draw in one of my cleaner pieces or in an animation I’ve been wanting to make.
That’s all for today!  I might post others if there’s higher demand.  Enjoy the stuff!

I’ve Been Practicing
A whole bunch of what I’ve been doing before the school year starts back up is practicing my Java coding skills.  I really wanted to get to know the language before I started a small game project I’ve been formulating in my head and to do so, I was given a link to a Stanford course on programming methodology for free on Youtube which I’ll link right about here.  So far, it’s really helping me get the basics of Java drilled into my head.  If anyone beginning to program wants to try it, I really recommend taking notes!
When I get finished with the course, I’ll start to consider finding a way to integrate the knowledge into making short indie games.  In the meantime, I won’t be able to make so many full-on art pieces here, but I will occasionally post whatever sketches I’ve made in my sketchbook that day, just to satisfy myself in knowing it’s up.
It also might be a cool fun fact to mention that my birthday’s tomorrow (yusss), so there might be some sort of release of many sketchbook pages during the day.  Can’t wait to put them out!

The first post on this blog is the one I want to use as my background.  Welcome to hell!  I’ll be occasionally posting whatever art I decided to create at the moment or show any progress on whatever else I was working on.  Give me some luck.
