Muktinath- Muktikshetra Place of Shalagramas and Abode of Lord Vishnu. it is also called Chumig Gyatsa (Hundred Waters) in Tibetan is a sacred place for both Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists at 3750 meters (12,300 feet). It is a great example of how two religions can share the same holy spot with mutual respect and support. In Muktinath all the elements are represented; not only earth, air and holy water, but also fire. Beside trees are growing at an unusual altitude. For this and reasons unseen yogis from both religions do their meditation at Muktinath. Shaligram stone, the black-coloured Ammonoid fossil is found only in Nepal, mostly to river Kali Gandaki near Muktinath. It is believed to be the representation of Bhagwan Shri Vishnu in Hindu religion. This river, also known as the Salagrami, is a few hours walking from Muktinath.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra - Helicopter Route from Kathmandu
Kailash predates almost all religious pilgrimages. While Lord Shiva visits Varanasi, his eternal abode is always Kailash, where he dwells with his consort Parvati. For Hindus, Kailash is the physical manifestation of the revered Mount Meru, the center of the world. In the Bhagvad Gita, Lord Krishna says, "Among the mountains, I am Meru." As the merudanda, it is the spinal cord, the axis mundi that holds the world together. The Vishnu Purana (approx. 200 BCE) describes how the world is made up of seven continents ringed by seven oceans - 'The central continent has Meru at its core, bounded by three mountain ranges to the north and three to the south. One of these ranges is the Himalayan barrier, interposed between Meru and 'Bharatha', the Indian subcontinent. Meru itself stands eighty-four thousand leagues high, with four faces of crystal, ruby, gold and lapis lazuli. Ganga falls from the heavens on Meru's summit, circles the mountain and then divides into four mighty rivers which flow to the four quarters of the earth.'' Today we know that the Kailash Manasarovar region indeed gives rise to four great rivers: Brahmaputra, Indus, Sutlej and Karnali.

Lumbini
Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the place where,Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 623 BCE according to Buddhist tradition. Siddhartha Gautama, who achieved Enlightenment sometime around 588 BCE, became the Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism. Lumbini became a place of pilgrimage as early as the 3rd century, when the Mauryan emperor Ashoka visited and erected his famous commemorative pillar at the nativity site of the Mayadevi Garden. Then Chinese and Korean monks travelled here and wrote about it in their chronicles. Nowadays, thousands of devotees visit Lumbini every year from all over the world. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of Gautama Buddha; other notable pilgrimage sites include Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya and Sarnath.
