I love it when my vocabulary spreads like a disease. Sharing a lexicon with friends is normal, it’s expected. I’m getting my coworkers to say things like “cutiepie” and one time I overheard one of my middle aged managers who is usually very monotone in the way he speaks say “yaaaaaay” in the exact tone that I do.

twitter is not working so i will momentarily rant here hahaahaaaa literally what do i do alam ko naman na hindi ko kayang galingan agad ang tagalog ko pero nakakaputangina pa rin tapos i still feel that i cant complain about learning english kasi if di ako kasinggaling magenglish as i am now hindi ko naman magugustuhan ang pagbasa ng mga librong kasaysayan edi ang language gap ko ngayon ay magiging knowledge gap. pero tangina nakakaiyak isang linggo nako nagsuri at magsusuri pa ako for two more weeks kasi talagang mahal ko ang pag-aral ng kasaysayan ng pilipinas at gusto kong galingan ang reporr ko pero sa huli pagakyat ko sa stage para simulan ang pagtatanghal ko alam kong putol-putol rin naman ang mga lalabas sa bibig ko. napakagago nitong putanginang wika kung hindi niyo lang sana ginawang medium of instruction ang ingles baka di ako mapapasok sa ganitong klaseng sitwasyon

It's incredibly foolish to disregard the dialectical relationship that exists between any materially existing entity/process and its fictionalised depictions; this includes even the most difficult and sensitive of topics like sexual violence and abuse. To say that the fictional depictions, whether actual published media or various informal play scenarios, have nothing to do with the real thing is absurd. They are obviously drawn from the image and ideas around it, and in turn can have varying forms of influence on how people conceptualise and respond to such things in reality. But at the same time the real and fictional are ultimately still separate and so it's equally absurd to talk about them as though they are one in the same

Like you can't take for granted that a piece of media depicting something automatically endorses it, or even that any "endorsement" exists in a context where it's materially meaningful. You can't take for granted that someone engaging in a sort of roleplay reflects any interest repeating those actions or affirming those values in real life; half the time the sense of moral transgression and personal aversion is part of the appeal. If you think that a fictional representation of a problem in any way exacerbates that issue in reality then you need to put in the work to demonstrate an actual throughline, a specific relationship between the material and ideal.

It's also very important to be aware of the limits; a discrete piece of fiction may reflect and in some limited ways reinforce social values but it's never going to "normalise" these values any more than the material structures that created them in the first place. A larger aggregate of media can have a larger effect, but only within the limits of the prevailing material conditions. While a causative relationship can't always be ruled out entirely, it's usually more constructive to view fiction through the lens of reflecting widely extant values rather than as bringing them into existence. The role of the ideal shouldn't be ignored but it shouldn't be irrationally inflated either, no matter how socially rewarding or emotionally satisfying indulging in that irrationality may be.

hi sorry lol I'm so inactive here and on twitter main but the long and short of it is that I got completely obsessed with philippine history specifically american colonial period + getting into both phases of the revolution as well so like for the past 2 months (wow!) I've just been living and breathing that 😭 when the quezon movie comes out it's either going to be world end or poppy euphoria

this went well btw :) i heard sir laugh a few times kahit na na-overtime ako, 15 mins lang dapat pero naging 26 kasi madaldal ako 😭 tsaka di pala siya gaanong ka-strict sa paggamit ng ingles so kung nabubulol ako sa tagalog iniingles ko nalang which isnt ideal but we ball 🙂‍↕️‼️

hi guys eto nanaman HAHAHAHSHAHAHAHA siguro its a common adhd thing atp that you see how you've ruined your life and you feel na ikaw ang may kasalanan but at the same time it felt impossible at that time to not do whatever it was ano ? honestly even having smth to blame doesn't help bc now i feel doubly guilty for not holding myself as accountable as i could. it's just completely indefensible that i spent 5 hours doing that last night and bc of that i woke up late kahit na alam ko naman na sobrang takaw sa tulog ang katawan ko ? and yet in that time i felt like i couldn't be doing anything else. whatever man basta kasalanan ko i hope di ako mawithdraw mas takot ko pa yun than anything else
