PSA:

Acetaminophen/paracetamol has a hard stop upper dose limit, above which it becomes extremely toxic.

That limit is 4g (8 “extra strength” (500mg) tablets) in 24 hours (about 2 tablets every 6 hours).

A single dose of 22 extra strength tablets can kill you.

Taking 12 or more tablets per day for more than a week can also kill you (this is about 3 tablets every 6 hours).

Symptoms of overdose take up to 24 hours to manifest, and are fairly difficult to distinguish from other problems. They include abdominal pain (especially right upper quadrant), nausea, malaise, and confusion.

The antidote (n-acetylcystine) must be given within 8hours of ingestion in order to be useful.

After 10 hours the only thing that will work is a liver transplant.

You might think “why would I ever accidentally take so much?”

Well, acetaminophen is in almost everything in the cold/flu/pain aisle. Migraine combos like Excedrin, cold and flu combos like NyQuil, basically anything that says “non-aspirin pain relief”, and anything that’s branded as a fever reducer. It’s all probably acetaminophen/paracetamol.

So the goal of this post is to get you to read the labels on your medications. Because taking taking Tylenol and NyQuil together for a week (like you might if you had the flu) could kill you.

robot discrimination allegories are kind of tired and hard to do right but i do think theres smth interesting in exploring the themes of humanization and dehumanizion with androids. like customer service robots built to be humanoid while the worker drones aren't. how certain people may be more willing to empathise with a robot that looks like a white person over a real human being. would companies want to create androids that act as humanlike as possible in order to exploit customers empathy? or would they do the opposite in order to avoid questions about ethics and sentience? much to think about. much to think about.

FTM PASSING ADVICE

- start wearing typically masculine clothing, like suits with wide shoulders

- people will tell you to not wear pinstripes because it'll make your chest and curves more obvious but think of it as a disguise to throw off their scent, like a zebra. it's urban camouflage

- start callin other men "boss" as a sign of respect

- always make sure to stay safe, keep a switchblade on you or a handgun or something

- consider your diet, work some carbs and fat in there for when T starts workin it's magic. im talkin pasta, pizza, lasagna

- tuck your hair up into a fedora if ya can't cut it

- remember to voice train, if you layer on an accent maybe it'll be less obvious, like a Brooklyn one if you're not already from there

ok so: what i'm understanding of this upd8

this show is called the "FANON-TINUUM" a portmanteau of fanon and continuum, so it's about the ranges of fanon and stuff

it's hosted by nepeta, which checks! nepeta was the poster girl for "fandom behaviours" in hs proper (before calliope came in) with all her shipping and furry stuff. i do note that she's wearing ben stiller shades like dave has, which leads me into my next point

we're entirely out of the realm of canon!! at least in the place where crowbar is. the nepetas we see are all different fan interpretations of nepeta, rather than being the real thing (although what "the real things even means is up to interpretation). nepeta of hs proper is still dead, but now that we are out of canon, we are not bound to its rules.

and so nepeta is not dead, nepeta is not fefeta or davepeta, but because davepeta in particular influences nepeta's characterisation in the fandom so strongly, we get the "host" nepeta wearing dave shades and a suit, and acting with a demeanor that's more confident and stylish than the original nepeta.

as for how crowbar got there in the first place, i don't think it's simply a case of "nepeta set up this weird gameshow right next to candy's moon". my guess is that it's more metaphorical— the felt (and jack noir, rest in peace) are characters who were almost wholly irrelevant in hsbc, with people wondering if they were forgotten until the brief panel of them manning the moon laser. when they're so far out of the spotlight, what they're doing is anyone's guess, and so they barely exist within canon anymore.

this leaves them on the verge of becoming non-canon entirely if they decide to take any steps to escape their unhappy situation on the moon. and crowbar does that! in doing so, he effectively exits canon entirely, even the realm of dubious canon. he's non-essential, irrelevant, and now that his actions go against what the candy timeline requires of him, he is also untrue.
