Isn’t it ironic that despite following mainly the innie’s stories throughout an entire two seasons- the ending had most people rooting against mark’s innie.

Despite establishing Ms Casey as a distant character from Innie mark- despite witnessing outie Mark’s outright dismissal of Helly as a person- people still want to hate innie Mark for grabbing at what very little power he could control in a world that just uses him as a tool.

Something I think Invincible does super well is introducing and consistently using the ‘government mandated American’ official to oversee the superheroes.

Like I don’t see much discussion of Cecil’s actual character- and how he plays just the perfect amount of parts to be classified in the morally grey zone.

Sure- he has the protection of the country and world at the forefront of his mind- much like other government officials. But then it also makes sense by having Cecil also use unethical methods to reach this protection and control- like by employing Sin Claire’s methods of what could really be described as ‘human experimentation’ (for lack of better words).

The government will try to protect the country, sure- but it also will achieve that power through unethical ways. And I feel like in most superhero media this trope is used to establish a primary antagonist or just some sort of one-dimensional joke character.

But in invincible it’s left for the audience to make judgements on those decisions. You shouldn’t fully support Cecil but you understand his motives as well
