WAYANAD
The administrative centre of Wayanad is located in the municipality of Kalpetta in the state of Kerala's northeast. The Mananthavady, Sulthanbathery, and Vythiri Taluks were combined to form the 12th District of Kerala on November 1st, 1980. The word Vayal Nadu, which translates to "land of paddy fields," is the source of the name Wayanad. It is a scenic plateau that is nestled in the Western Ghats mountains between 700 and 2100 metres above mean sea level, on the eastern part of North Kerala, and on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States.
