This is a bit of a ramble, but:
I truly believe that Sir Terence David John Pratchett is the greatest fantasy author of the post-Tolkien era. No one has done it as well as he did - prose, characters, tone, plot, themes, humor - he was the master of all of them.
His words danced off the page, from single lines like Death's
"LORD, WHAT CAN THE HARVEST HOPE FOR, IF NOT FOR THE CARE OF THE REAPER MAN?"
To the Vimes Boots Theory or Humans Need Fantasy monologues.
His characters are some of the most richly textured I've ever encountered - Death and Sam Vimes and Moist von Lipwig and Granny Weatherwax, each of them feels like they were given thought and care and used to tell stories that they were uniquely suited to tell.
He controlled tone like a master, from slapstick comedy to serious satire to tense moments where you feel that, just for a second, things might not be okay.
His plots were always believable in the context of the worlds he was telling, and were always engrossing - that the metaphysical adventures of Death and co. felt as natural a fit for Discworld as the starting of the setting's first newspaper, the solving of street crime and unraveling conspiracies and the grand re-opening of a post office is proof enough of that.
He used these plots to explore themes of responsibility, social inequality and duty to a person's community with razor-sharp wit and a deep anger for the injustice of the world around him. He fought the evils of the world with a pen and paper, even as he died. No one will ever do it like he did, but that he did it himself might just be good enough.
He brought comfort and joy and happiness and thought and introspection to millions.
GNU, Terry Pratchett. Mind how you go.

We also figured out—the hard way—that the ancients probably cut each layer of linen to the proper shape before gluing them together. For our first linothorax, we glued together 15 layers of linen to form a one centimeter-thick slab, and then tried to cut out the required shape. Large shears were defeated; bolt cutters failed. The only way we were ultimately able to cut the laminated linen slab was with an electric saw equipped with a blade for cutting metal. At least this confirmed our suspicion that linen armor would have been extremely tough. We also found out that linen stiffened with rabbit glue strikes dogs as in irresistibly tasty rabbit-flavored chew toy, and that our Labrador retriever should not be left alone with our research project.

"And you would know that, but you have none around you. You said so yourself, you surround yourself with lies and deceptions. And I wish for you, in the future, to find someone to mourn you when you are gone. Respectfully." - Caduceus Clay

I love the dynamic of A Woman & Her Husband. She's just over there being hot as fuck, while still being a thought-out character (that's key). And her husband is just off doing some type of shenanigans, of varying severity and degrees based on where their from.
Example:
Jessica Rabbit is serving, and doing whatever it takes to protect the one she loves. Meanwhile, Rodger is being framed for murder
Morticia is serving, while also being a loving mother, and wife, and partaking in her hobbies. Meanwhile, Gomez is... doing Gomez things. Which is honestly just sword dueling and loving his Morticia
Layla is being a bad bitch, enough said. And Marc is being emotionally backed up as fuck, fighting with, technically, himself, and fighting his inner-demons which consist of dealing with his childhood trauma and familial issues, and bisexuality
Miss Piggy is being a fashionista and walking around like she is that bitch, because she is. And Kermit's playing his silly little banjo on a log and trying not to say fuck
