Since I did my post explaining that I will almost always respond to asks privately, I have been flooded with messages from friendly people. So I thought this might be worth doing:

I just realised why low engagement on the fics upsets us fic writers so much. It's not I needed the attention and I didn't get so I'm upset. A part of it is because we want acknowledgement for our work, but after I updated a chapter a few days ago, and seeing no response from the readers, it feels like I wanted to celebrate the story we love and nobody else showed up. It's a lot like organising a party and hoping people will come, but you're the only one who was there and then you go home, feeling disappointed and friendless. It is an extension of wanting to be acknowledged. And maybe something else too. I don't know if someone else feels the same.

That about sums it up! When things like that happen, I’d suggest finding a local way to celebrate with yourself- go for a walk, get some ice cream, spend time with a friend, ect

What's your favorite version of hypnokink/mind control kink stuff?

I've only had two opportunities to write hypnok/nk, 1. Caged Like Veal (plant monster, light & pollen) 2. In the middle of another fic request, a naga hypno.

Broadly speaking, I love Hypno that forces Alastor to participate in situations or rituals that he's aware of.

He's recognised the Bad Thing that's approaching, maybe not entirely, but he can't do a damned thing about escape because for whatever the exceptional reasons are at the time.

E.G big bad monster, toying, incapacitated. I think it's more interesting if Alastor can recognise the Hypnosis that's about to occur, than straight ‘fingersnap & he’s out’.

The extended k/nks like struggling, power, dominance, trickery, dub pr outright noncon, stealth elements can be explored and worked in. Unless if a request specifically asked for the standard Kaa-level or Jafar's Staff hypnosis, no frills. I can't think of a Hypnosis play that I actually hate or dislike.

Predicaments are fun, too. Stuck In PWPs, traps, what have you. Including Psychological, like training Alastor to return for favours, whatever they are, like (depending on verse) milking, breeding, nursing, overstim, eggs. It can also extend to relieving the monster, like feeding off It's own seed/milk.

If the method of Hypnosis is more complicated than ‘look into my eyes’, there's different fun ways to elaborate on that, the fear and the angst, the resistance. Pollen, ingestion, physical manipulation, arousal, influences that can distract or disable Alastor.

I love monsters the most regarding the Hypnotist. Snakes, plants, phantoms, eldritch creatures, tentacle monsters. I haven't thought too deep on sentient objects like books or cursed artefacts controlling him, though.

In doujinshi, Vox's Hypnosis on Alastor in the dub and noncon comics I own, it's nothing deep, just locked eyes and there you go, compliant Radio Demon.
