gonna be taking a semi-hiatus from this blog, as depression has hit me pretty hard and I’ve lost my enthusiasm to do pretty much anything here. I’ve already sent in a notice about it to the mods which will hopefully be approved soon.

out of all the colors, people with an orange soul color are the most social. they are happiest around people and prefer to be out partying than sitting at home on a friday night. they are never short of friends and get to know people all over the world.

orange soulcolored people are always looking to excite themselves and often do dangerous or thrilling things to feel alive. they are heavily competitive and excel in sports and physical activities. they rarely self reflect, preferring to stay in the here and now instead of dreaming about the future.

dealing with an orange soul colored person is pretty easy. they don’t hold grudges over simple things and prefer not to judge others. in fact, they’re most likely to ignore stereotypes and befriend anyone that will talk to them, regardless of sexuality, race, gender, or mark.

due to their nature of never wanting to settle, they never stay committed to something for long, often bouncing from interest to interest. this causes them to constantly be looking for the next thrill, and they often grow bored with their environment quickly. schedules are not their strong suit. they are also the most likely to give up on something should it not give them a sense of purpose.

Lloyd had almost lost his entire, well stacked plate of food when he was bumped into someone from behind– but it seemed that today was his lucky day! Just as it slipped from his fingers, a stranger leapt forth and grabbed it before it hit the ground, causing Lloyd to beam with gratefulness.

“Oh man, thanks for that..! I think I would’ve cried if I lost all this,” taking it back, he smiled at the other man. “Hey, do you have a pass? Let me get you some food as thanks!”

ezreal fancies himself as quite the capable adventurer, one equipped with enviable reflexes and a steady grip. (  no, we will not mention all the times he nearly dropped an invaluable artifact because of butterfingers, thank you very much.  ) thus, when ezreal sees a stranger’s plate of food nearly falling on the ground, he 's quick to react, lunging and grabbing the plate from underneath, hastily steadying it. it nearly spills over, but it stops at the edge just before it can land on the sleeve of his beloved jacket, and he heaves a sigh of relief.

❛  don’t sweat it! that kind of stuff is easy-peasy.  ❜ if he showed any signs of desperation on his face during that whole ordeal, he’s quick to wipe off any trace of it, a confident smirk forming on his face instead.  ❛  can’t turn down free food! lead the way.  ❜

Dex is apt in remembering things, having a installed perfect memory with infinite space, his mind almost computer like in nature. Serving as a bartender to acquire funds is easy so long as things remain stock. A tally in his head as he welcomes the next guest.

A few notes about Ezreal’s abandonment issues and how they manifest detailed under the cut.

Abandonment issues usually occur when an individual is afraid to lose loved ones as a result of parental figures being largely absent in a child’s life, physically or emotionally. In Ezreal’s case, his parents were largely absent due to being away on expeditions most of the time, and while they were very kind and loving to him, they were still largely absent during times where Ezreal needed support. It doesn’t help that Professor Lymere, the secondary guardian of Ezreal, didn’t exactly provide the emotional fulfillment he needed in his childhood.

It’s also important to note that Ezreal was pressured a lot during his childhood. Due to his genius level intellect, there was a whole lot expected of him, and thus pressures were mounted on him in the form of rigorous, high-level studies. This is a large part of why his needs for affection were also neglected.

It is said that abandonment issues come in three different styles according to something called attachment theory. Ezreal would likely be recognized as having avoidant attachment, where he acts incredibly independent, hides his outward need for love and affection, but has the same anxieties and needs everyone else does. While he does fish for praise a lot outwardly, you’ll notice that most of it is for his ego, and he otherwise rarely displays a desire for closeness, affection, etc.

He’s always hiding his inner turmoils, and he does this by suppressing his negative emotions and memories, as well as refusing to properly complain about his problems. Everything negative he has to say that has anything to do with how he’s feeling is always sulking, or lampshaded by humor.

If he gets caught up in a conversation he really does not like, he emotionally withdraws himself from it, tuning out what there is to be said. As a primary example, I’m sure a lot of people who know about Ezreal’s situation think he’s in serious denial and want him to accept that his parents are probably actually dead so he can move on, but he never really listens to their words. He ignores much of what is said, brushes it off, or changes the subject.

Something that is often seen with people that have Ezreal’s type of attachment style is that they have a very high opinion of themselves, and a very low opinion of others. They also tend to focus too much on themselves. I think in Ezreal’s case, this is pretty self explanatory.

Intimacy is definitely something that does not come easily to Ezreal as a result of these emotional problems. If anything, he avoids it, and it’s very easy for him to think that his partner is being clingy or overstepping boundaries, when they might just want to understand him better or help him out.

That isn’t to say Ezreal does not fall in love (  I mean, look at his lines towards Lux  ) but I really doubt he’s going to allow himself to be truly close to anyone very quickly. That kind of trust takes a lot of time for him to build up.

Fear of rejection is a big thing for Ezreal. It’s a major reason why he does not have many close relationships; he fears that he will inevitably be cut off by people, so he tries to do it first to avoid the emotional fallout of being dropped. As a result, he sabotages a lot of his relationships, platonic and romantic.

“I think it went down the back of your shirt.”  She was mean.  But in all fairness, this was amusing as hell.  Despite it not being outwardly obvious, seeing him squirm so gullibly was probably the most entertaining thing she’s experienced in a while.

Poor, poor Ezreal.  What had once been a random meeting in a cave has now turned into her tormenting the man out of sheer boredom.

❛  oh, fantastic!  ❜ there’s a certain terror that lifts his voice by several octaves and sends him into a somewhat panicked frenzy, his hands patting down his back in a maddening fashion, as though it had erupted into flames. he dreads and anticipates the feeling of something crawling down his back as his hands move, and when he feels nothing after a few minutes, he heaves a weary sigh.

ezreal, I think, never really attached the meaning of “home” to piltover. home is a place that you love and look forward to going back to, and his parents fit that description a lot better than the place of his origin. he was at his happiest when his parents were around, and looked forward to listening to their stories, receiving their souvenirs, and ultimately just receiving their love. sadly, they were hardly around because of their work, and without them, piltover, his quote on quote actual home, felt a lot lonelier. in piltover, he would be sent off to university at a young age and be made to study and read books despite hating it, and when he decided he wanted to drop out and find his parents later down the line, I’m sure that wasn’t received well at all. piltover is a city-state that places a heavy emphasis of progress above all, and with that comes a great importance placed on education. hence, when ezreal decided that he did not want to continue his education and graduate, he was probably looked down upon for doing so, further alienating him from other piltovians, and thus, his hometown. because of his ego, he wants to be regarded as important there, but otherwise, he ultimately does not share the same sense of pride others have in the city.

this was actually a fairly thought-provoking question for me because I honestly didn’t think too much about what ezreal eats! especially since he’s an explorer, and thus he doesn’t always have the ability to eat scheduled meals like most people do. I’d say that ezreal’s diet varies depending on where he is; if he’s in one of the big cities, he’ll probably try the local cuisine, if he’s at home he just eats what he likes, etc. regardless, he’ll try to keep a balanced diet. he likes comfort / junk food as much as the next person does, but that kind of stuff isn’t good for his skin or his health, and I imagine ezreal stays motivated to eat as healthily as he can because he gets fussy over his appearance.

ezreal does get forgetful with food however, particularly when he’s going on explorations. if you know ezreal, you know that being cautious and planning ahead is not what he does at all, so he forgets to pack food because a) he thinks he doesn’t need it and b) though he does prepare for his expeditions, he doesn’t plan that carefully, so he’s pretty prone to forgetting to bring some important things with him. he actually does this canonly too, where he forgets to bring food with him in “an explorer’s journey.” god dammit ezreal.

as for cooking... contrary to what you might think, ezreal is actually not a bad chef at all! it’s my personal headcanon that ezreal was forced to learn how to cook by professor lymere, because ezreal needed to learn how to be able to support himself, but also because lymere was just kind of sick of his shit and would rather not have to look after a bratty genius teenager all the time. in contrast to other things lymere forced on him though, ezreal actually really enjoyed learning how to cook, because it was hands-on, encouraged experimentation, and was decently challenging. nowadays, whenever ezreal travels, he’ll pick up some street food recipes from other regions to try himself, though instead of asking the chefs how to cook it, he just says he’ll watch and smell what the chef is doing as they cook and piece it all together himself. still, that’s easier said than done, even for someone who learns as quickly as ezreal, and from time to time he utterly fails to replicate a dish and gets put in his place.

with the kind of shit ezreal says and pulls on a regular basis, it’s pretty easy to think that he’s just an airhead who has been able to get himself out of dangerous situations through the power of magic and sheer luck alone. however, ezreal actually possesses a mind of genius caliber, having entered university at an unusually young age (  probably around age 15-16 if I had to guess?  ) aweing and infuriating professors alike with how easily he learned and remembered a wide breadth of ordinarily complex subjects. consequently, he received much of his knowledge (  albeit reluctantly  ) through his formal education in university before he dropped out, but he’s learned a lot more through hands-on experience with the world. he despises reading and studying, and would much rather prefer to learn in more engaging and very risky ways.
