"do it scared" ok but I would like to do something some other way occasionally. Like at least once. For a change.

Ooh, this is a hard one, I have too many OCs to choose from. So let's pick one I don't talk about much! Her name is Kylin...... no last name, because it's never really come up, and I'm bad enough with names as it is ^^' I made her for the world I've been working in for the past 4 and a half/five years now, which I basically use as my sandbox, writing about different characters in different parts of it, and only some of them ever interact. It's a fun way to worldbuild, and lets me explore a lot of different parts of it! But, with current world events, it's making writing it more important to me than ever, and also weird, because one of the central themes of it is how these characters, living in a dystopia, go about their daily lives. After all, not everyone is leading a revolution. It's focused on the small ways they improve the lives of the people around them, and how relying on each other and building a sense of community is what makes living and surviving easier. Also basically everyone is queer because I want them to be.
Kylin's parents were killed when she was young, and so a revolutionary group (of which there are many) decided that they would take advantage of the recently traumatized child, and took her in. How good their intentions in doing so are fairly murky, but what's pretty clear is that they sent her in to assassinate an important political figure, on her own, when she was still a child. She got caught, of course, and imprisoned and tortured, because revolutionaries are treated as the worst, most dangerous people who deserve to suffer for their choices, no matter if they're a child. But, the child of a different political figure (I perhaps like a little bit of political intrigue, so there's a lot of them to go around) ends up finding her, and forming a connection with her, because ey don't exactly have a good relationship with eir parents. So, the two bond, and the political figure's child is starting to realize some of eir biases, and ey're rightfully horrified at the situation Kylin is in, and tries to get her out- but ey're limited in what ey can do. So, ey become friends with her, because that's something- but it's something eir parents still don't approve of. So, they meddle through planting bugs on their child to get information on Kylin, all to break Kylin's trust in their child by using the information against her and making her think that ey betrayed her. Ey didn't, but when Kylin accused em of doing so, ey didn't know what to do. Of course, other than hacking into the records, clearing Kylin's, and then stealing a bunch of money from eir parents and doing the equivalent of putting her in witness protection and sending her to a different continent. Where she now has to figure out how to be a person she never was and is very different from her normal self, cope with her trauma without any sort of support network, and figure out if her ex(?) friend betrayed her or not. So she's doing just great, thanks!
TUMBLR CREATORS
Tell me about an OC of yours you think Tumblr should know about (you can do this more than once, why not). Reblogs, asks, whichever (probably not replies though).
QUESTIONS:
What is their name?
What did you make them for?
What should people know about them?
I'll go first to demonstrate:
The OC I would like to tell you about today is Ambrose Clarus Valcour.
I made him for a novel I wrote, that is currently trunked because some part of it is broken that I have yet to identify. I want to tell you about him because he and his book are some of the deepest parts of my soul and I will always, always been attached to him.
He is a snarky, dry-humored, extremely aro ace teenage witch with a raven familiar named Llewellyn who is and will be his only life partner. His entire story deals with him being rejected from his identity as various things and fighting to be recognized for who and what he is (and frankly not really succeeding, but he knows who and what he is, and that's what matters in the end).
#koboldspeaks#i didn't mean to write so much#i just love kylin so much#i don't talk about her that much because that's most of her story summarized right there#but honestly that made her easier to talk about than my Behemoth of character arcs that are some of my others#miro lucas slate my beloveds#you are simply too complicated#also cleo mel or especially rea#etc etc etc
