For many years, I've carried a pocket notebook in which I inscribe daily musings, documentary information, grocery lists, etc., etc. These informational notes find their way into the art journals that are most often completed back home in my studio. Fully completed notebooks are archived in handmade book boxes.
Gerard Lange art journals, Appendix J, Notebooks (book box), hosing daily and event-specific notebooks, 30.5 x 22.5 x 12.5 cm (12 x 8⅞ x 5 in.).

Hey im considering studying architecture and i was wondering like how is it like? What is the admission like? Do i need a portfolio? Do i need to b very good at art?
Architecture degree can provide a good exposure to culture, design and spatial skills. Admission can be difficult depending on the country and knowledge-based required during enrollment.
It's an added advantage to have a portfolio. In some places, like India we give eligibility tests and interviews with a time exercise to enroll into the degree course. It's easier if basic skills in drawing is there though mostly the coursework is strenuous enough to give a good practice in drawing.

A couple job interview hacks from someone who has to give a job interview every single goddamn day: (disclaimer: this goes for my process and my company’s process, other companies and industries might be different)
1. There are a few things I check and a few questions I ask literally just to figure out if you can play the game and get along with others in a professional setting. Part of the job I interview for is talking to people, and we work in teams. So if you can’t “play the game” a tiny bit, it’s not going to work. Playing the game includes:
- Why do you want to work here? (just prove that you googled the company, tell me like 1 thing about us, I just want to know that you did SOME kind of preparation for this interview)
- Are you wearing professional clothing? I don’t need a suit just don’t show up in a ratty t-shirt and sweatpants.
- Are you able to speak respectfully and without dropping f-bombs all the time? Not because I’m offended but because I don’t want to be reported to HR if you wind up on my team.
- Can you follow simple directions in an interview?
2. Stop telling me protected information. I don’t want to know about what drugs or medications you’re on, I don’t want to know about you being sick, I don’t want to know if you’re planning to have children soon, I don’t want to know anything about your personal life other than “can you do the job?”
3. When we ask, “What questions do you have for me?” here are my favorites I’ve heard: - What does the day-to-day look like for a member of your team?
- If one of your team members was not performing up to his usual standard, what steps would you take to correct that?
- What can I start doing now to accelerate my learning process in this job?
- What are some reservations you have about me as a candidate? (be ready for this emotionally….it will REALLY help you in the future, and I’ve had people save themselves from a No after this, but can be hard to hear)
- In your opinion, what skills and qualities does the ideal candidate for this job possess?
- What advice would you give to a new hire in this position/someone who wanted to break into this industry, as someone who has worked here for a while?
Those are just my tips off-the-cuff. I work in sales in marketing/SAAS, so these can be very different depending on the industry, but I wish the people I interview could read this before they show up.

I am not sure if anyone else can relate to this, but it is something that has been playong on my mind for the last month or so.
I am grieving my university experience.
For context, I graduated from university in 2022 having started in September 2019 and having a large part of my education disrupted by the Covid-19 Pandemic (like many of us, I imagine).
I dreamed my whole life of going to university, and ended up at a Uni I had truly adored and idealized for many years before attending it. I remember when the pandemic hit and we all had to go home how destroyed I was. I sobbed for weeks, barely ate, barly slept, never showered. It really did tear me down.
I went back to uni and had some sort of second and third year (the third year was almost 'normal' for me, luckily, so I got one full year of uni), but it still wasnt quite the same. Nothing was as busy as those last few months of 2019.
I stil live in my university city, working remotely, and my partner whom I live with is returning to uni to study a postgraduate degree -- something I can't do because of money and the need to hold a secure job. And I am in mourning. I want to go back.
I think the gravity of the fact my uni experience was stolen from me (for some understandable reasons, I know, but I am bitter nonetheless) is only just hitting me. I am angry, bitter, jelous, sick. I want to go back to carrying books and dressing up each day. Of talking to lecturers and working in the department running errands for the professors.
I want to sob again. I want to go back, and the nostalgia is slowly consuming me.

Day 116: Proof reading is really not fun but at least I got to take out my dictionary so there's that. Brunch for comfort. RM for company.

Castelló de Farfanya, Spain (No. 1)
The castle of Castelló de Farfaña is located in the village of the same name Castellón de Farfaña in the Catalan region of (Noguera), on a hill that dominates the town and shares with the churchof Santa María. It is currently in ruins.
Everything suggests that the hill where the ruins of the castle are already occupied in Iberian times, the ilergetes had to defend themselves against the Romans. Its importance grows considerably with the fortification of the Saracen era that was part of the defensive chain that ran from east to west and separated the lands of the south, Islamic, from those of the north, Christian. The first certain news of the place dates from 1036, when he was still a Muslim.
